  1. You know, TPTB forget that casting is crucial in helping a show sell the audience on a story that is otherwise unsellable. In order for the Unabortion to have worked, AMC needed a dynamic, one-of-a-kind actor to portray Josh, something it didn't have in either Scott Kinworthy or Colin Egglesfield.
  2. I really need to read that book. I, too, assumed a DNA test had been performed. Honestly, if ever a DNA test *needed* to be performed on any soap, that was the time!
  3. Plus, if Erica had had Tom's baby while she was out of town, she would have been only too thrilled to bring the baby back with her to Pine Valley in order to reconcile with Tom, since she knew how badly he wanted a child.
  4. At the risk of reading a dead woman's mind, I'd say that Agnes Nixon gave her blessing to a lot of ideas that she thought were terrible, if only because, he/she was in the HW's chair, and she likely believed that a HW needed to be allowed to follow his/her vision...no matter how awful it was. Then, you would have had Erica betraying Tom (or Phil) again by having his child and concealing it from him, which would have been unforgivable. At least, with the Unabortion, Erica didn't knowingly keep Jeff's son from him. Not if, for example, the attending nurse stole Erica's other baby, because she so badly wanted one of her own. And please don't ever mention that horrid mess w/ Jessica and Natalie again.
  5. NuChance reminds me a lot of Mark Feuerstein -- which is appropriate, I guess, since Mark can't act either.
  6. Honestly, why is this guy not replacing Sir Smirks a Lot as Will?
  7. Look at y'all, demanding plausible explanations from DAYS. It's cute.
  8. You're right, he's good-looking and can't act for [!@#$%^&*]. Back in the day, that would've meant a quick exit. But now...? That just translates into "Multiple Emmy Winner."
  9. God knows I was never a fan of the whole Kendall retcon. However, when the decision was made to saddle Erica with a grown, male child (who was somehow younger than he was supposed to be, but I digress), you had a good opportunity there to rewrite history once more and reveal that 15-year-old Erica was actually pregnant with fraternal twins. You could have said that Erica and Mona never knew about the other child; that Erica's doctor and/or nurse kept the other child from them for their own, nefarious purposes; and that while Mona was busy handing Kendall over to the adoption agency (which I still don't believe Mona would've done, but again, I digress), a semi-conscious Erica gave birth to the other child, then promptly passed out, still believing she gave birth only to the one child. Does that scenario make complete sense? No. Truthfully, no scenario where Erica discovers a child she never knew she had would ever make sense. But, at least it doesn't cross over into sci-fi (that is, not as much as the Un-abortion did).
  10. Is that when she was still married to Phil and had miscarried their baby? Or are you referring to when she left for Hollywood after splitting with Tom and wound up at a fat farm?
  11. Isn't it a little soon to be labelling this guy "Daytime's New Heartthrob"?
  12. Agree. Granted, I still think the revelation was dumb, but, hey, you work with what you've got.
  13. It doesn't have to be DAYS, though. Ron Carlivati's time as HW on this miserable show took care of that. Charles Shaughnessy: "Don't ask questions you really don't want the answers to." Khan: "Why does ABC continue to employ bad comic book writers to write for GH?" CS: "I SAID...don't ask questions you really don't want the answers to." Khan: "But I WANT the answers, Shane! I WANT. THE ANSWERS."
  14. I wish the producers, Lorimar and CBS had appreciated him more, too. "The suits" never understand that you need "good" guys like WRM/Cole to counter-balance the heavies (like Angela and Richard) or else the show falls apart. Actually, I could take-or-leave Abby Dalton and Julia. Besides, Angela didn't really need two daughters on the show. Emma could have been Angela's sole daughter and Lance's eccentric mother, and the show wouldn't have missed a beat.
  15. What is going on with Cynthia Watros' face? And is GH so strapped for cash now that they can't afford Grecian Formula for the men?
  16. Well, if that casting doesn't put an end to the whole insane practice, nothing will.
  17. Angela and Melissa's rivalry was the only saving grace on an otherwise troubled show.
  18. Agree. To me, it seemed too much like Mickey and Judy putting on another show in old man McCutcheon's barn. It was just dumb effing luck that the results didn't look amateurish on-screen.
  19. Why does that not surprise me? Giving Erica a son wasn't the worst idea. But, IMO, you could have achieved the same effect simply by introducing a quick-witted orphan who gradually works his way into Erica's heart and then becomes her legally adopted ward (at a time when she has no romantic prospects to speak of, and she is truly taking stock of her life).
  20. God, I hate that damn show SO. MUCH. Obviously, Langan learned nothing from those men.
