I enjoyed the campiness and ridiculous turns this week, but I wouldn't exactly call Sheila observant, clever, and stealthy, it someone who's outwitting others. Everyone around Sheila was beyond clueless.

-- Does Laura have any kind of moral center? -- Pascal is more proof that this show doesn't believe in Queer Joy. -- I've done a complete 180 on Brad. I used to enjoy and even like the character. Now I can't stand him.

-- Are sweeps months still a thing? I see so much less written about sweeps in recent years, especially since streamers have taken off. The soaps need to keep their foot on the gas all-year round. If they're still gearing up for sweeps, I think it just shows another area where the soaps are behind. -- Nicole is clearly being written as a woman in crisis. When Carlton is given lines that make sense when describing and defining who she is and all her changes, you know Nicole is not just going through a change of wardrobe. -- I like Dr. Kial, but leaving Carlton and then ending up in Kial's bed an hour later does not make Nicole look rational. -- Vanessa sat there like a whore paid to do nothing but be an object when Golden Corral Casino Mobster Joey attacked Carlton and Nicole. What a friend Vanessa is. -- And then we AGAIN heard Vanessa "cry" about Deanna for about 30 seconds before announcing she loves Joey and will live her life her own way. In other words, this is THE SAME VANESSA we've known since Week One when she was screwing Diego at the club. I cannot stand the woman. -- Lynette is awesome. Her scenes with Hayley are good stuff. -- I can't wait until Hayley sees Bill's amended will. -- We still have the problem of these characters (like Lynette and Hayley) meet in public. Even worse? Randy having very public meetings with characters he souldn't be seen with. -- I LOL when Randy gave Joey credit for Joey having eyes everywhere. I mean, bro -- you were sucking fingers at Orphey Gene's. You're not exactly in hiding. -- Alex Alegria is never worse as Tomas when he throws "mi amor" into the dialogue. Hilarious!

Yep. The Nick addict story is boring and going nowhere. Why he's in Vegas I have no idea. He sits in the hotel room. Adam needed something to do, so now he's Spider again. And there's no reason at all for plastic-faced Riza to be involved with Matt Clark. All of it is just throwing crap at the wall.

😂 Then can I say that about Chandler Massey? Because he spent his last 3 years at DAYS grinning and smirking through every scene.

The more they try to sell us on Joey's good qualities, the worse he comes across. I never believed it either. Those ideas all came from people who didn't want to believe that Vanessa could be this level of trash. I don't think there's any chance Doug is alive, either. I can't believe any actor would agree to being on ice for a year so he could make a surprise return.

Disclaimer: I do not think Van Hansis should be replaced. I like him as Lucas, and thought he had good chemistry with Marco. I don't think he's has screen chemistry with Brad. Ryan Carnes is a hunk, but I think he's also a good actor with a lot of screen presence, and I loved him as Lucas -- and he did have chemistry with Parry Shen. I think the writing mishandled Lucas when Carnes was in the role.

Jesus, I love your post. Van Hansis was SO over-the-top that I was laughing out loud. That could not have been any worse 😂🤣😂 And sorry, the "grief comes in waves" reasoning doesn't work for me, at least not in this case. My Lord. Laura has been a terrible mayor since the day she entered office. She's complicit in more wrongdoing than any mobster in town.

Completely agree. And I support everything you said in those posts and in this one. I feel like a broken record, but I think it's important to call this out. Maybe someone from the show will see it if enough viewers are unhappy with this doubling down. I've said it before, but I'm white and this makes me angry as hell. I cannot imagine how this is seen and heard by people of color. I nitpick, I know, but this is not nitpicking. The white savior who is also the devil is NOT what I want to see on this show. Agree wirh all of that, too. I don't find anything positive about Vanessa. Not a thing.

-- Listening to Joey the Mobster rail against plastic surgery and doctors in general made me a Carlton fan for the first time. That whole rant was out of the blue ridiculous. Did he have liposuction that went bad? -- Vanessa was so torn up over her meeting with Deanna that she dressed up like a whore for her Uptown date with Joey. -- Vanessa, NO ONE buys your sadness over Doug's death or your story about when you started banging Joey. You can add all the hitches in your voice that you like -- no one believes you. -- Glad to see Naomi put her foot on Hayley's neck. I hope it stays there. We've had months of Naomi being cordial and even friendly to Hayley, and it never made any sense. -- I want the old Shanice back. I don't like all this self-doubt, and I don't like all this Nicole praise from her that makes her seem like an inferior replacement. If Shanice has been cheated on multiple times in the past, I don't want her to play victim here. -- And Shanice, Ted did not tell you he loved you.

My MAGA reference was inelegant, I admit. I could have made the same point without mentioning MAGA, but I was not trying to inject politics here. GMAB with that. Keeping the Duprees and the Dupree-adjacent clean? Sorry, this is a soap opera. Keeping 90% of the characters clean is a terrible idea. It's an even worse Idea when the white guy is pictured as the savior, and I don't see any winning about it. Thank you. That's exactly how I feel. The writing works overtime to keep this BTG core family clean, and the messiness we do get is so minor it's cleared up immediately. And again, I am disgusted that Joey of all people is painted as the guy who cleans up so much mess and who has so much power. I think this is an incredibly wrong and awful move by the show. I am stunned that more people aren't disgusted with Eva's visit to Joey to thank him for essentially saving Izaiah. All of that made me sick. One problem is that the show never credibly explained the chasm between Izaiah and his father. We know they don't get along, but I haven't seen ANY scenes that tell me why this break is so deep. And didn't Izaiah have a mother? And brothers? He had a family around him to "save" him. Instead he needed fcuking Joey Armstrong. A better story would have been that this mobster in the pleather jacket tried to recruit him to the dark side -- and failed.

I know this board in general hates Ryan Paevey, but I have no problem with what you call a lack of nuance. From Day One, many of us suspected Paevey wasn't playing Nathan -- because we've all watched soaps since forever. So while "we knew" it wasn't Nathan, we really didn't KNOW it wasn't Nathan until yesterday. Why give that up sooner with nuance? I don't see any reason to do that. We got writing clues, and many people caught them, again because we've all watched soaps since forever. Ryan Paevey isn't a great actor, but this role doesn't require that. I personally think he's a great soap hunk who's good in the role. Am I partial to him because he's great eye candy? DUH. I have a hard time criticizing Paevey's acting when there's worse all over the canvas. As has been pointed out, Carlo Rota is all over the place. Sometimes he's good, but he's also an outrageous scene-chewer. Now he's underplaying his own son's death. Van Hansis is now playing Marco's death like it's just another day at Port Charles -- and is incredibly bad at playing a doctor. So yeah, I'm OK with Ryan Paevey.

What's with Eva glazing Joey over Izaiah -- giving him credit for saving him while she disses Izaiah's family at the same time? I just can't with this show giving flowers to the White Man who saves everyone and also runs the town. Has MAGA infiltrated this writing staff? That entire conversation made me sick.

If we got one, I missed it. It's typical Josh Griffith writing. No thought or effort put into anything. Again, I don't think we'll get any explanation. We might get a "Victor was behind it all," as if that's good soap. -- More bad writing? Victoria's visit to Summer. Summer's letter to Phyllis. I mean who the fcuk cares??? This offscreen stuff is disgusting. -- And Phyllis says everything she does is with her kids in mind? Are you kidding me? And she doesn't understand why they have "vitriol" towards her? -- More "I DON'T CARE": Mariah and Tessa. Mariah going away again. They can't even show the kid they're supposed to be raising. Complete suckage.

-- Overall, I was bored today. -- It's fine to have a Dani/Andre catch-up scene, but that went on too long, and the story had me yawning. -- Bill is all over the place. He's tough and strong and smart, yet he's clueless when it comes to Hayley. He can be soft and compassionate, yet he threatens Kat with "You best not be insulting my wife." -- Worst of all, Bill can perform miracles all over town, but he needs White Man Golden Corral Casino Mobster Joey to investigate Lynette??? Make it make sense. -- This show keeps trying to explain and explain away Vanessa's marriage to Doug, but it is not working. There is NOTHING about her that says "Stay At Home Mom Whose Kids Are #1." I hope Deanna continues to treat her like the trash she is. Meanwhile, Donnell is clueless. -- I still say Lauren Buglioli is bad with the emotional scenes. She comes off like a Real Housewife faking some tears. -- I do not like hearing Shanice continually put herself down compared to Nicole. This has now happened multiple times, and it's sickening. -- I do not buy Ted being in love already.
