GH: April 2026 Discussion Thread
I think by 2003, PC was shot 6 months in advance and they were committed to a total separation between it and GH. Shows how much had changed at ABC with the coming of Fons in 2002. He just didn't care. When PC ended, nothing was brought over to GH. Some of the stuff PC introduced in its early years with the doctors and hospital might have been valuable to bring over to GH, but again they didn't care and PC was forgotten. But again, Lynn has such a rich history with the show. I don't understand why they don't try to build on it by giving her a family or something. Seems like a really wasted opportunity.

GH: April 2026 Discussion Thread
It's crazy to realize that Lynn was the lead vet/ star of her own soap, the GH spin-off Port Charles. I wonder if there was any blow back from Port Charles's failure that kept Lynn off of GH for a decade. Or was Lynn's being off GH when PC ended just the work of Jill Faren Phelps and her hating the older actresses? Jill did send Bobbie and Felicia packing. I guess if Lynn hadn't done the spin-off and stayed with GH, she probably would have been written off GH too during that time, thanks to Jill.

GH: April 2026 Discussion Thread
I always found the Lucy/Felicia scenes of the mid 90s to be interesting. Felicia was Lucy's first female friend, and Lynn always played those scenes with a subtle lesbian subtext that Felicia would usually resist but sometimes play into. That might be something interesting to explore on the show today, a Felicia/Lucy relationship, give the vets something new to do. Undoubtedly though, the producers wouldn't be interested, or they'd play it as a joke, without much sensitivity, and play it once every 6 months or so.

GH: April 2026 Discussion Thread
Maybe they can celebrate Lynn's 40th anniversary on the show by stop treating her character as a joke and giving her a story, maybe a daughter or young niece to interact with? I think her definitive pairing was with Scott. She was with Kevin because Scott had left the show in late 1993. The show always saw her as comic relief, and I think Scott fit better into that than Kevin. Scott and Lucy of the early 90s was kind of a substitute for Scott and Heather of the early 80s though; both were scheming, humorous pairings.

They showed none of Jacinda singing! What a tease! If the producers were really in love with her, I think they would have shown it! I'm not really seeing that much of a difference in Nathan's performance. He's just being a little more direct and assertive. Not much of a stretch of acting muscle by any means.

So they decided to have a car crash just to have a car crash? They needed another twist and the creative juices were running a little low this week? I think there are 23 characters in today episode! To be honest, even though there are 23 characters on, not one of them is all that interesting, nor could any one of them carry the show. Goes to show how poorly character is done on Frank's GH.

I think there were 18 characters on today's show, yet it was still boring as hell. It takes a special kind of producer to pull that off... Quantity is not quality

Sorry to say, I've felt Anna and Maxie have been burned out for a long time. It might be best to just give them happy endings and bring in new characters with the traits they used to have. The show is long overdue bringing in a daughter for Lucy, who should get involved with Michael, driving Tracy nuts.

They did nothing to celebrate their anniversary this year. Too bad the big plans don't include firing all the producers.

GH: April 2026 Discussion Thread
Today's episode was so boring. Hilarious at how so much happened off camera, Danny's fight, Laura's press conference, Marco's funeral, etc; it was starting to feel like an episode of Beyond the Gates. Maybe GH should have done Beyond the Gates one better and had the whole episode take place off camera, canning it.

GH: April 2026 Discussion Thread
Kai and Trina have been incredibly dumbed down the last few shows. To have them misspeak in front of Willow several times, and then just casually talk about her in her office and have her overhear is so lame. For a show full of twists, I'd prefer to see them go with that it is the real Nathan forced to go deep undercover to bring down all the bad guys. I think this would be a better choice for the actor's skill set and place on canvas. The writers need to write to the actor's strengths more. When they have them go out of their wheelhouse, it ain't happening. Case in point is Sidwell. His histrionics were hilariously bad. His reaction should have been something the actor could play.

Kind of disappointing if they're just going to make Nathan another flunkie of Sidwell 's. Wasn't he supposed to be the big bad, the one actually running everything? I would have preferred to just let the character be Nathan.

It's probably all about money. Frank has got to economize somewhere. One way he does it is by getting cheap day players to pair with Michael and Kristina. If ever a contract player leaves, maybe then they'll invest in a strong partner for Michael. The money saved with Sasha was probably used to bring Nathan back. One blah character for another.

GH: March 2026 Discussion Thread
Those scenes with Joss and Britt were painful, mostly due to Joss. She just doesn't fit the cold, murderous spy business. Why don't Joss or Britt just tell Sidwell that Cullum killed his son? Wouldn't Sidwell then kill Cullum?

ALL: Proposed plots/storylines that never happened.
Lots of dropped stories from GH 1990, when Gloria Monty came back as EP. The show had spent 2 years selling Scorpio as Lucas's real bio father, something he didn't know about, and Gloria was having none of that, switching it in 2 days.

ALL: Proposed plots/storylines that never happened.
From early Santa Barbara, about 8-10 weeks in, there was the dropped story of Russian submarines patrolling the coast. One of them saved Joe from drowning, complete with a sexy Russian female spy, and the subs seemed to be the reason Cruz the super spy really had come to town. Joe and Cruz were going to be true action-adventure guys. The whole thing was dropped once Joe got recast, and they had an earthquake instead. Also, they were always planning on doing a blonde girl and a Latin male as a couple, but they were originally going to do it with the teens Jade and Danny. With those actors having little chemistry and acting ability, and the overall show struggling, they decided to really go for it, ditching the teens and switching that story to adults, Cruz and Eden. Eden was originally going to mix it up with the more Anglo characters of Warren and Lionel.

I could see them try to keep Brennen and pair him with Nina, to eat up airtime and budget. This show never gets rid of dead weight until a decade or so pass its expiration date. With Ava, I don't know what they could do with her that wouldn't be repeating stories she's had before. It is a testament to Maura West's talent that she took a nothing character like Ava and turned her into a 13 year run. I'd expect to keep seeing Nina and Ava as long as the actresses don't turn too expensive.

Full episodes from October 1982 have popped up, with Sammy Davis Jr as Bryan's dad. Gerald Gordon as Mark Dante is his doctor. This is the most I've seen of Gordon as a doctor on GH. He has scenes with Steve, Robert. I miss the screaming he used to do as Nick Bellini on The Doctors. His scenes with Steve Hardy aren't as loud as his ones with The Doctor's Matt Powers. Gordon would have been better on The Doctors during its last months, but I think they killed off his character in 1981 for no reason, maybe out of spite? Or mostly to give the returning Althea a reason to mope around more.

It's surprising that now that she's an interesting character Willow isn't featured more. She hasn't been on in a few weeks?

Didn't the rights holders to the old soap The Doctors try to do this, and it went belly up? Maybe being international, and a more recent soap, will save B&B from the same fate.
