SOD reported last week that Missy and Matt are leaving week of Jan 3rd, and they way SOD wrote it, a reader might think it sounded as if they are totally gone, or gone for now ... for a long break or longer. But it could be that SOD got MA and MR leaving because of the show releasing the spoiler that Jack and Jen go back to Boston Jan 6th. In other words maybe SOD didn't know Matt was back on contract when they printed that. And maybe soapcentral was making assumptions based on what SOD said. I dunno.

My friend is a doctor at a clinic that does covid testing. He said that two weeks ago, covid test results were 33% positive. This past week, the tests are resulting in 50% positive. He knows the science, but he is still stunned by the accelerated transmission rate resulting from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day gatherings.

I've never seen The Golden Girls. My fondest memories of Betty White were from my childhood, watching her on Password. I thought it was so interesting that she and Allen Ludden were married. Then I remember watching her on The Match Game. I remember her on The Mary Tyler Moore show, too. I just read the Betty White wikipedia page. Before reading that, I probably knew about only 10% of her life. I bet even her biggest fans/followers don't know everything she accomplished - she's done so much! It's quite amazing and inspiring. In my opinion, Delia Reid Ryan Coleridge had a completely different vibe than Kristen. She was always scheming to get whatever man she had set her sights on, and did some bad things that physically harmed people. But she seemed more like a Sami Brady schemer (to a much much greater extreme!) who had gone off the rails and had no boundaries. Just my perception.

You described Kristen as "a perfect tragic anti-heroine". WHAT? Kristen should NEVER be written that way! Kristen is a villain!

The devil already stated out loud that it doesn't have a gender. I don't know if it has a preferred gender for sexual relationships either. It took on EileenKristen's form and tried to seduce John and Eric. It took on Steve's form and kissed Kayla. I suppose you could say that's "preference for opposite gender" but ... eh. It is whatever it wants to be, with whomever suits its purpose of creating chaos.

"Duke" is a small stuffed teddy bear that Rafe gave Nicole months ago, and then they agreed to share custody of it. Something about Rafe missing Orpheus's grandson David that Rafe briefly had custody off, and Nicole missing Eric who was in Africa. They use the bear to help with their loneliness. Rafe confides in it. In his mind, Rafe has been hearing the bear give him advice. (really!) It's a stupid thing that fans of all characters hate. Rafe and Ava are in a relationship and live together. Ava just learned that Rafe cheated by having sex with Nicole on the Basic Black conference table. Ava knew that Duke was a symbol of Rafe and Nicole's supposedly platonic friendship -- and now that Ava knows they had sex, she got pissed off and decapitated the bear and vowed revenge. The teddy bear Duke (recently decapitated) was a regular-sized teddy bear. Regarding the picture of the giant bear picture-- That giant bear has not been seen on the show. That picture is a behind-the-scenes pic of something we'll see eventually. (I just wasted five minutes of my life typing up that stupidity!)

Shriner has been on recurring for years. I assume he simply means that he's completed his current arc and will now enjoy his down time vacationing. I don't think he's "fired". They will probably call him back for his next arc. I think "Scotty's run is done" means the current story arc. I think he's tweeting to thank his fans. I don't know the man, but that's what it seems like to me. Fyi, he's done this in the past when an arc was done - he tweeted in such a way that caused some readers to assume he'd been let go. He later deleted those tweets.
