@Paul RavenIs Ron and Nancy Becker a reference to the current storyline -- I know they are 1970s characters with a storyline about a child being taken from his biological father Ron who was a rapist, and adopted by Chris Brooks and Snapper? I never heard about that storyline until you posted that photo, so I just did a very quick search. And my very quick search may have given me an incorrect understanding. Is that in reference to my comments in this thread about the present day ... Johnny Abbott being not raised by his rapist mother Chelsea, and instead adopted by Victoria? (Just trying to figure out if you meant to post the photo on this current Y&R thread or on the old Y&R thread). I guess it works either way. Please forgive my lack of knowledge of history. Well this is a soap, so you'd think that Johnny Abbott would learn that he was conceived via rape. He's in boarding school now. Maybe they'll reveal it after he's SORASed and returns to canvas. But on DAYS, Johnny DiMera still doesn't know he was conceived via rape. Maybe they'll reveal it after or during the possession storyline. Yeah Johnny and Connor interact as cousins at family gatherings. As cousins because they are sons of Victoria and Adam. I'm my opinion, Chelsea should not have even a whisper of a right to speak -- because she raped the child's father. Victoria and Billy never gave Chelsea any rights. When Chelsea was pregnant with Johnny, she and her mother Anita moved into the grounds of Billy&Victoria's home, maybe an apartment or garage or something at the residence. Chelsea viewed the whole thing as just another scheme to live with rich people and not pay rent, and wanted a payoff when the baby would be born. Devon and Mariah contributed to the birthing of Dominic via the *request* of Abby, with the understanding that they would be involved in his life, and be his godparents.

Johnny is Victoria's son in every way that matters. Chelsea contributed genetic material via raping Billy. Chelsea is NOT Johnny's mother. I feel very strongly about this! Chelsea should NEVER have any claim on Johnny. Never. Christian is a different story. His mother Sage wanted Adam to not claim fatherhood, so that she could have a relationship with Nick. Or some such convoluted mess. They made this agreement, and the whole thing came out later, and Nick found out later, and they all continued to honor Sage's wishes after she died, and everyone agreed to keep Christian as Adam's nephew. It's odd but I think it's okay.

Reign Edwards played Nicole Avant on B&B. She's gorgeous, but the show gave her some odd wigs.

Alma Delfina as Rafe's mother Adriana Hernandez 2016, and mostly all they gave her to do was cook Mexican food. Tamara Braun as Rafe's girlfriend Ava Vitali, and mostly all they've given her to do is cook Italian food. Finally she gets to do some second-hand villainy with Kristen and Gwen. What is it with the writers and women in the Hernandez kitchen? At least Ava has friends and some life. They gave nothing to Adriana.

Alma Delfina is a Mexican telenovela star. I thought she was good. But the writing for Adriana was stereotypical and had no depth.

Tessa and Mariah just got engaged and plan to adopt a child. I think (hope) the show is finally bringing Tessa/Mariah away from the dreadful Dominic storyline.

Usually, I adore the messy Brady-Evans-Black family; but I don't like the possession storyline, so I haven't watched them much in the past few months. Currently... Allie and Chanel are my favorite characters right now. They feel like real people to me - flawed but worth cheering on. I pretty much fast-forward everything else. For the future... I loved the Eric/Nicole pairing. If/when Greg Vaughan returns, I'm curious to see if the show knows how to write Eric/Nicole and will he remain a priest? I think the actors could bring it, but I'm dubious about the writing.

Regarding the question about why are they doing Luke's death now, and is the timing random? I don't know but my guess would be .... Because they finally can! The vets came back after the vaccine mandate took effect. There's got to be more coming up with Tracy bringing the actual Ice Princess diamond to Port Charles, and Victor stirring up trouble. Can you imagine an umbrella storyline with the Cassadines, Laura, Anna, Robert, Felicia, etc?
