Of course, Uncle Ron couldn’t go a week without his precious Robert Scott Wilson and Greg Rikaart. Today was ok, but a lot of people annoyed me lol First, f*ck off, Cat. I should have sympathy for her, and I haven’t really hated this storyline but she was so annoying today. Chad was a lot more forgiving than I would have been. But Chad and JJ each finding out about Doug and absorbing the news about were really good. Scenes like that show us just how good Billy Flynn and Casey Moss really are. And yes, it was still a big mistake to not have Chad and JJ attend Doug’s funeral, or at least have a scene of either of them comforting Julie. The Joy/Alex scenes could have been a lot better though. Having Alex act like this is all a big joke and having him be so smug and obnoxious is the wrong choice for this storyline. It’s annoying too lol and since when is Alex so anti-Dimera? Thankfully, the EJ/Johnny scenes balanced everything out today. I’m glad EJ brought up that Joy could possibly be manipulating this whole situation and I really hope that’s the route they take with this storyline. It would be a great twist and it wouldn’t feel like a random half-assed rewrite, like with Luna on B&B 😂😂 And as hot as RSW is, and he looked hot again today lol, I still think the obsessive writing for him is the biggest reason why fans can’t stand his character. And, Paulina was annoying too. Thankfully, Lani/Sal and Chanel/Raven saved those scenes and made them worth watching. Lani visiting David Abraham’s grave was really touching.

Finally, Hope made it to Salem! It sucks that Kristian Alfonso couldn’t make it back to film the funeral episodes, but she was still a part of the actual tribute for Doug and that’s the important thing. I like that she was immediately suspicious of Doug the Third, especially since Julie seems like his biggest fan already lol maybe she should have been written with more subtlety, the way that Hope was. But I think PM is doing a good job so far. Btw, it’s too bad that Hope doesn’t have a relationship with either of her brothers lol Hope’s scenes at Doug’s grave were the best part of today. I really enjoyed her reunions with Jennifer, and with her kids. She has such nice relationships with all of them. And since Hope asked Jennifer to keep an eye out on Doug, I wonder if that means Jennifer is sticking around. She and Jack should remain on the canvas in some kind of capacity, Belle being counseled by Marlena was pretty good as well. There scenes seemed so natural together. This is how Marlena/Dee should be used; with her family, not with her dopey patients. And definitely not as Hattie. Philip and Shawn seemed ok too but they really should have spent more time talking about Belle and Shawn’s relationship than about Xander and Titan, even though I wouldn’t mind Shawn being apart of that storyline. It would add another good dynamic to it. The same way that Xander and Stephanie having some kind of association would be another good dynamic for that storyline as well. Idk if their scenes today were a test or something but I didn’t mind them. If anything, the messiness and the fallout of them doing anything would be great to see. Btw, I wonder if Doug knows Jeremy, since Robert is Jeremy’s uncle. Probably not, since I think Julie had met Spencer before. Maybe Doug will be Javi’s new bf 😂😂

😉 I was thinking of something like, Alex paying Javi to break up Sonny and Will to distract Sonny from Alex, plotting and scheming to get back at Philip and Xander. And Dimitri coming back to Salem to get Andrew back 😂

I’d keep Jack and Jennifer on recurring, especially if JJ is sticking around. And, agreed about Leo @ranger1rg Since so much of Steve’s history was brought up today, they should have had him share scenes with like Maggie or somebody.

Good episode… that was ruined by Leo 🤮🤮🤮 Even with Ron’s obsession, I’ll never understand how with all this talk about scheduling, availability, guarantees, etc., they can always make it work for Greg Rikaart. And that’s a big HELL NO on bringing in Spencer Olson for him. And yeah, let’s add Stephen Schnetzer to the list of people that Ron owes an apology to, along with Al Calderon. His final scene with Susan Seaforth Hayes was really nice though. I’ll miss him. And Marie too. Hope we see them again. Everything else was actually pretty good though, especially Shawn/Belle. It’s like they’re in the middle of a classic soap dilemma where they want to be together but they feel that they can’t because of everything they’ve been through. I’m happy that we’re going to see this all play out onscreen. I hope they play the long game with them. There’s still so much story for the two of them, as a couple and as individual characters. Lucas immediately suspecting Steve of stealing the necklace was classic Lucas. He really is another character that should be on the canvas full time. And, we got confirmation that Peyton Meyer wasn’t playing young Doug on Monday. Again, I didn’t dislike it but at the same time, it just didn’t seem necessary. But I like that they’re finally delving into Dougie’s family after so many years, even though they mispronounced Robert’s name throughout the whole episode lol the T is silent. There’s so much that they can do with this character, especially since he was the one who stole the necklace. But I like how they’re drawing a parallel between him and Doug, just as long as they don’t take him too far and ruin him. I wonder who he’s gonna end up being paired with lol he kinda looks like Lucas Adams.

Or that she got rid of a gift that her daughter gave her so easily 😂 Thanks! I’d love to see one of those couples singing or dancing to it.

Uggghhh… should’ve known. Two 80 year old women acting like clowns isn’t funny. But at least today’s episode was a lot better than most of the garbage that he writes.

There were a couple of things that seemed unnecessary today, like Liz and Marie being so campy and clownish, and the time capsule necklace disappearing already. That could have waited until tomorrow or a later episode. And also, who has a funeral service, outside in December? 😂 I wish they’d use the St. Luke’s set again. Not the chapel, the real one. But overall, today was another winner. And the biggest tearjerker of them all. Idk what it is about Susan/Julie saying, “He took me to paradise with every kiss” but it made me tear up while watching Bill’s service earlier this year and it made me tear up again during Doug’s. You really got admire the strength and courage of Susan Seaforth Hayes. Say what you will about her being over the top, which I admit she can be sometimes lol, but she’s a consummate professional who gives it her all every time. And I also teared up and sang along when Liz and everybody sang “Always.” I wish that song was featured more on Days and used in scenes for Horton couples like Shawn/Belle, Chad/Abigail, Will/Sonny, etc. Is it that expensive to use? It’s almost 100 years old. I appreciated the fact that today didn’t have as much background music in it as episodes usually do. Sometimes you just don’t need it, especially when you’re dealing with the death of a major character. I also really enjoyed the scenes between Steve and Julie. Both actors work really well together and I hope they somehow managed to bring him back from time to time. And maybe I’m reading too much into this, but does anybody else think that the fact that Ciara hasn’t mentioned Ben at all in these last two episodes might be telling us something?

I felt that way too for a while, but Kristen Vaganos revived my interest in the character/the pairing with TJ

Nulu has won me over. I’ve impressed by her lately and I enjoyed her scenes with Rocco and Dante today. Molly and TJ were really good too, even though I think Tahj isn’t that good of a crier lol I’m looking forward to seeing where both characters go from here. And I see they’re still trying to make us hate Drew.

Happy 15,000th episode, Days!! 🎉🎉 As sad as this is, from a marketing perspective, I can see why they chose to do it like this. Hope the numbers on Peacock are off the charts today. Today was beautiful. You could tell that there was a lot of care put into today’s episode. And Friday’s episode as well. It was great seeing so many flashbacks, so many of which I don’t think have ever been seen before. And it was also great seeing Gloria Loring, Maree Cheatham and especially Stephen Schnetzer back on my TV again. It’s almost unbelievable how effortlessly they fit back onto the canvas. You’d think they hadn’t been gone for as long as they were. The three of them discussing their pasts with their scene partners and also how much Doug was a part of their lives were some of the best scenes today. Btw, didn’t Liz and Marie make peace already? I can’t remember. I’m looking forward to their scenes tomorrow. And I wish more of their storyline was available to see. It sounds like it was a really good mess lol I also liked the little seed that was planted with Shawn and Belle and I can’t wait to see their storyline play out. They deserve to be on the canvas and I’m glad that Days finally fixed the mistake they made in letting them go. And I’m also glad that they finally remembered the time capsule and that Ciara was able to open it so easily. I wonder if they’re going to follow the original plan, or if Ron changed it. I didn’t expect to see Peyton Meyer as young Doug today though and while I didn’t dislike it, I also feel like it wasn’t really necessary either, especially since there are so many episodes of Bill Hayes that exist today. But yeah, I’m still interested in seeing what’s going to happen with his character. He’s gorgeous, btw. And yeah, I guess we needed an update about Ciara’s baby serial killers too lol

This was not a good year for soaps. Not a good year at all. RIP
