  1. I think that's the guy who played Arnie Cunningham's father in the movie "Christine", but I'm not sure. Wikipedia says his name is Robert Darnell.
  2. Top it off with a Martimmy and I'm down lol
  3. I love them. Those classic episodes are the reason I started watching B&B now. Even though it's very different now, it still like the most realistic soap that I watch. As for James E. Reilly, according to his Wikipedia page he doesn't show up until 1990.
  4. A lot of his plays are available in e-book form. I think you can buy some of the print editions on Amazon too.
  5. Love this scene, love this song, love this dance. Too bad you don't see stuff like this on soaps anymore.
  6. Lmaooo 60s and 70s soap fans were the best. This makes me wonder what happened to the fans that Lemay wrote about in his book
  7. Happy Halloween!
  8. Poor Texas never stood a chance against GH
  9. Would a viral campaign on social media help at all?
  10. That was one of the flaws of Passions. They made it seem like the only passion that a person could have was for the man/woman of their dreams as opposed to running a business, etc.
  11. My storyline would have been a nice, simple, who murdered Gwen?
  12. Not too long ago for Days of our Lives, I heard there was supposed to be another serial killer storyline. Glad that didn't happen. And that a SORAS-ed Johnny Dimera was supposed to come back, join Dimera Enterprises and just be an all around troublemaker.
  13. True, but that was pretty much every male character on Passions lol
  14. He didn't get the part. Brian Green AKA Singing Sam did. As for Mitch Longley, he came in September 1991 She was born on Somerset. When their marriage crumbled, (I think Sam had an affair) Lahoma took her and left. Sam then went back to Bay City but eventually found them and left to go be with them.
  15. Wasn't that only because they wanted Chris Bruno on the show after he auditioned for Sam and didn't get it?
  16. Very puzzling. I chalk it up to writers wanting to mine the history of a soap but not knowing enough about it to mine it. And the way so many characters came and went on AW, it was almost like the show sometimes did story arcs, like what was done on Port Charles or on telenovelas.
  17. Did AW ever gain any ground at all at this time? Every monthly rating posted, it's pretty much in the same place or has the same rating.
  18. From what I've read, Ted got out of a mental hospital and got recovering addict Nicole hooked on cocaine again. Jamie was dating Nicole at the time and tried to stop him, so Ted planted drugs on him and Jamie was arrested. Perry was pulled into it too somehow and ended up getting shot by Ted. Eventually, Ted's schemes were exposed and he was sent back to the mental hospital. This all lasted for like 5-6 months. I think Ted was another missed opportunity for the show. He could've driven story for years.
  19. That's what a lot of people think because they had same name but the show was never really clear about who her mother was. The only thing I remember Russ saying about it was that him and Olivia's mother were divorced. I think it was just a case of the writers not studying Russ' history well enough when Olivia Matthews came in, especially since it was said several times in 1980-81 that Olivia Delaney couldn't have children.
  20. I’ll admit l don’t know that much about the show but from what I’ve seen of it, it seemed ok. The execs. just needed to spend a little more time on it. I know it was Frons’ pet project. Thanks!
  21. Why did NBC give up on Generations so quickly? Pretty much every NBC soap was at the bottom of the ratings in its first year or two. What was different about this one?
