  1. I just watched the BH reunion last night and agree with all your thoughts. I also thought the set and their dressing rooms were SO tacky. Were they in a Super 8? It looked like an 80s outside motel. Last season they adopted the beautiful CGI-style backdrop like OC has had recently, but this year they had tacky plastic fruit, flowers and plants. Where is the glamour of BH?? That was so odd and distracting to me.
  2. Thank you all! Wow, I'm so saddened by the fact that he died so young, and soon after this amazing scene. He was such a talent and that scene makes me wish I had a slow sax/jazz playlist of all the soap themes. I hope I get to know his character more as I continue my watch. It's sad, and typical of most soaps in that time, to not highlight their black characters in the 90s. In the 5 months I've watched GL '95, I've only been introduced to Gilly and Sid maybe 7-8 times, her parents 3-4 times, and Hamp here twice. David has been around in the background a lot with Lucy and Bridgett here and there, played by two different actors. He passed younger than I am now, which always weirds me out when I watch soaps from the 90s. Aside from Lucy, AM, Brent, Bridget, Dinah and David, all these characters still look older than I am today, even though they were the same age or younger than I am today... but its a psychological thing given I was a pre-teen and teen during the 90s, watching AMC daily and OLTL/GH periodically. They looked older then and they always will today.
  3. Question - who is this amazing sax player that plays the GL theme song at the end of this July 4th episode? I've seen him in maybe 2 scene between Feb-June '95, working at the Towers, but curious if he has a backstory and was a main character at some point? Btw, I LOVE the Towers set, so glamorous for the time and I love how everyone dresses up.
  4. My mind is blown hahaha - thanks for sharing!
  5. WHAT?!? 30 damn years old? LOL - I mean, she looks great for her age, but that's a ridiculous casting choice if she's 30 years old. I agree on Lindstrom - he looks good for 67 and I too want it to appear believable.
  6. LOL I mean, you're not wrong 🤣 But still, would visibly seem more appropriate/realistic than some of the other choices when folks are younger (like Smitty having two high school aged kids... I know Mike M's age would technically allow for it, but he looks so young to me).
  7. Totally agree. I think this show has potential, I really do. I really enjoyed the first two weeks and I do enjoy many of the characters, but these storylines right now are zzzz: anything in the hospital (except Shanice!), the nurse documentary, the sexual harassment lawsuit, the gambling addiction. We didn't get Leslie at all this week nor any movement to her storyline. The previews for next week did look better and I'm excited for the fashion show event, but I sure hope they got more extras in the background than they did for Nicole's award ceremony. If that fashion show only has the Dupree family and Vanessa, I'm going to LOL again.
  8. Yes! I noticed that too, it was weird.
  9. I agree and I think for me, it's mostly because I don't really KNOW these people involved yet. They need to be established more with character-driven scenes that make me feel for them... and then get into the plot of it all.
  10. She does... half the cast seem relaxed and comfortable in their scenes (like Nicole), and the other half still seem a bit wooden and nervous. I know that'll get better over the next few months, but its so obvious and takes you out of the scene sometimes.
  11. Finally some Nicole/Vanessa being friends scene.
  12. Haha I lowkey think so too. That line he made about Dani - "gun-waving, golf club-slinging, left hook-having ass". LOL
  13. Same! Have we even gotten Leslie yet this week? So sad.
  14. Y'all - today is boring... this is exposing how uninteresting some of these B storylines are.
  15. Ohh that is a good call out, I didn't put that together before, but I totally see it.
  16. Yes!! And ironically... I'm doing a GL 1995 watch right now, and the episode I just watched today had a B&B promo with Dr. Kinder and Krystal (Bobbie Eakes)! LOL, always funny to see some of your favorites in other soaps interacting together.
  17. So cringe - I can't believe they have to do that. But, if it keeps the show on air, then so be it haha.
  18. I saw that! The reunion episode was over 900K viewers, which was the highest rated episode of the season. The fact that any Bravo show is flirting with 1M viewers these days is quite the feat. I'm so shocked that M2M beat Atlanta. Reunion episodes usually are highly rated, but still. I'm hopeful next week's shocker episode will boost them back up. I do like some of the newbies (not you, Brit), and am hopeful for this franchise.
  19. This was really sweet - thanks for sharing, and thanks all for the info/insight!
  20. Curious - why did they choose Jerry? He's great, just curious. What other major events would they do these for?
  21. Ahh well, then I'm happy with Tate's work, with which I'm unfamiliar with previously Happy to see it!
  22. Thank you! It's funny, because since I asked the question, Ben showed up in a June episode and even Holly repeated his line in an accent, as if to make fun of it haha. Don't know if that was ad-libbed or not, but it was funny. This is beautiful and touching. I hadn't seen this before. Did they air this before an episode, just after the attacks?
  23. Today's episode was well-written, and of course I then noticed Bibel was on the credits. She writes character-driven dialogue well, which this show needs right now. The Bill/Dani scenes turned out to be much better than I expected after how yesterday ended. She also wasn't too OTT. I LOVED the flashback to Bill and Naomi when he was being a good father. That's been one of my criticisms with Naomi/Hayley being friends. The impact didn't land because we've never seen them get along. We need flashbacks to them being good girlfriends so this has a bigger impact.
  24. Wow this is amazing, thanks for sending! I wish they had full years during the middle 90's, but I'll take what I can get. I love to see the soaps being preserved and available!
  25. Totally what I thought too - he's using her.
