  1. IIRC MVJ said the million was just the first piece of what Leslie got or was already owed, something they did make explicit in dialogue but not too explicit. Still, I am past worrying about it. I do think they want 30-yo elder millennial Peaches in her Sophia Petrillo wig to be a point of pathos for Leslie. In theory I am fine with that, and don't dislike Peaches despite the jarring physical disconnect and need for a recast lol. But I do think they do a lot of B&B-style whizzing from Point A to Point C with Leslie on this kind of stuff - in one scene she is raising hell, in the next she is weeping over Peaches. There's very little transition to that sometimes that allows for the nuance, and that can be done much better and they can go much deeper with Leslie (and most characters). The newer/younger audience for the show may have less issue with this kind of quick change than we do.
  2. I could've sworn we went over the Bobbie thing a while ago, and saw her introduced to Rick and Lesley as "Nurse Barbara" in very late '77? Or was that early '78? I know the clip is online. Jackie always credited Marland with creating her IIRC.
  3. In fairness, Hillary and Bob Woods were thick as thieves again at least by the end of OLTL. But both she and I believe Mark Derwin not so subtly dissed Kale Browne in the oral history, lol.
  4. I do think it was probably always going to end the way it did.
  5. I'm happy for Dan if so, but he'll always be Kevin Buchanan to me. Hopefully the role can last awhile.
  6. Oh, wow. Thanks @DRW50 And @SoapDope78!
  7. Erika spilled plenty of tea in her fan newsletter which went under the radar for many years until it didn't. And even more in the wonderful Llanview in the Afternoon, Jeff Giles' OLTL oral history conducted just after the show went off the air. When she was off the clock and the show was over, or whenever certain creatives were gone, she was always quite candid. She was the same very recently in an interview with SOD re: her happy reunion with Roger Howarth and Tuc Watkins while filming at GH in LA - with OLTL gone, she was happy to acknowledge that Howarth, who she has long been very friendly with and complimentary of, was 'a bit of a pain in the ass' when he was young.
  8. How many years has Joe been dead? It's time to retire 'is Stefano alive?' stories unless you are prepared to reveal a strong heir to his villainy within the family, which they have consistently failed to do.
  9. No, I don't think so. What really hurt Max was the show not knowing how to write him without Luna when she died, or in his classical form after that. Malone's handle on Max softened too much over time, and subsequent teams had little to no idea how to use him well. The one thing that struck gold (Max/Roxy) was killed by Brian Frons. Luna was always divisive but Max and Luna were pretty popular with the audience in the '90s. There's a reason Malone and others returned to that well too many times with her ghost, Tomlin with the videotapes, etc.
  10. Frank tried to fire her and so did JFP. Both failed. I think that and Korte's longstanding enmity re: Carly's rivals is enough to keep her in the freezer unless Frank has an OLTL star or other fave he wants to try to put over. Lucky worked at Charlie's as a clear attempt to try to put him in Kristina's orbit. I saw no reason he shouldn't accept the WSB's offer at the time, and maybe reopen Luke's Club as a day job if JJ really didn't want to be back at the PCPD (as he claimed at the time). That would keep his hand in in both worlds. But Lucky just bumming around at a bar made no sense. It was there because Frank was trying to put over Lucky and Kristina. And the thing is I could see them having a fling, I was not opposed to it in theory, but not the way it played out onscreen with him enabling her worst, most unwatchable self while Liz got short shrift. Because at least some of TPTB clearly resented being beholden to Lucky and Liz per JJ and the fans.
  11. I'd agree with all of the above, but I especially get this. That great scene in 2011, as Guza was also on the way out the door, cemented for me that Sonny could either go out alone or dead, or with Brenda having finally made the other choice. Pairing him with anyone else ever again after that confrontation was a moot point. And it has been ever since.
  12. I have never been able to take the DiMeras seriously as a family with a regular company in town, having board meetings, etc. This is the DiMeras! It was fine when they were the weird gothic clan up to skullduggery, but treating them like normies doesn't work. And neither does the Kristen recast, even if Haiduk is a fine actress. She would never be this passive or allowed to just hang around. With the real Tony I loved his initial run in the 2000s, because I'd liked Thaao's other work and I loved the glimpses of the once-heroic Tony I'd seen from the '80s. But Thaao plays them almost indistinguishable now and it's clear they either want to bring Andre back for the 12th time or turn him back into Andre by another name again, so I lost all interest in Thaao some years ago sadly. They don't do anything with him they've not done for 30+ years.
  13. I don't think so. If they did we'd see a push for her into bigger story. The same way the D&C team clearly wanted to use Nina, but Korte clearly hates her for taking Carly's man. That colored things even when she was with Sonny where Nina would be humiliated and castigated 5 days a week, and now with Korte co-HW she's got no story whatsoever.
  14. There isn't one. He's just around because Frank likes Carlo Rota, like many actors he keeps around too long. As such they slot him into every scheme that comes along. You may be right about BK but it's still been ruinous to Portia, who was a solid and strong character IMO. I can't really get behind the Lucas stuff because I know they are setting up bringing back Brad yet again, forcing more of Britt/Brad's double act on us and then trying to make Brad and Lucas reunite again. Whereas he and Marco are actually hot. But they all but explicitly said last week or the week before that Marco was Lucas' rebound by having Lucas ask the question.
  15. Michael fúcking Nina would be wild.
  16. Portia came on as a principled, driven and notably no bullshít doctor. That's the version of the character I liked. (Her deception re: Trina is literally xeroxed from what Jordan did with Shawn and T.J., the same story copypasted onto two Black women the show keeps in C-story, so I can't really fault her for that.) The show clearly dislikes Portia and/or Brook Kerr, so today we have Portia constantly crashing out instead. They seem to want us to settle for the two most wooden Black performers on the show.
  17. I also found the Dreaming Death scenes with Lesley so creepy.
  18. How thrilling that a totally new user has resurrected this dead thread, created by a notorious tr0ll (SON tried to ban this word to keep us from reporting people like her too often, but it didn't matter) who spammed this thread for months constantly making errors and omissions, and getting all of her information wrong before defiling the privacy of a dying man and his family. But she's banned from this forum and I'm sure she'd never try to come back.
  19. I don't think Heather's exit has survived to YT. For weeks or months she was hiding the wooden first Nella's pregnancy secret then she was gone. I assume Roy found out and they busted up. She was a fairly consistent presence til then.
  20. I have always preferred Tabyana from Day 1. I thought SM was too green.
  21. Brittany Snow (Susan/Daisy, GL) has a key role in the Netflix miniseries The Beast in Me with Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys.
  22. Pretty sure the last we saw him dude was bawling his eyes out in an elevator over losing his daughter. I get that RA may have had IRL issues (and I don't even know how true that is) but GH has worked with trickier situations, be it illness or otherwise. Paging Kirsten Storms.
  23. I would love to see the Lockwood story, or the famous two-hander with Adam and Nicole(?) when she was in jail. I think I'm remembering that right. Or Millette Alexander's two(?) characters. Really any more of Adam and Nicole in their prime. Or the period where they moved Maeve McGuire's Nicole to Miles. I am curious to see them together.
