I just figured it had to do with Lucas mentoring his coming-out. I will be mortified if they tried to pair them. Lucas has been treated for decades like part of the Spencer family proper. And that's not even getting to the age gap. (I don't mind age gap romances unlike some of the puritanical stuff out there, but this is too much on top of everything else)

To think my terrible friend @Darn was castigating me over text the other day for suggesting Lucas return and get in hot water for inadvertently hooking up with Brenda's scheming gay son who he doesn't realize is a) Brenda's boy and b) 17. Lucas is like Aiden's cousin! Uncle! Something like that! He's also got nearly 30 years on him. A hook-up or scandal with some twinky ne'er-do-well is one thing on a soap, but pairing these two up for real? I can't see that at all.

Neither of the last two kids were exactly Haley Joel Osment, let's face it. He's an attractive fellow but does read a bit old for the part, though I am sure they will dress and style him young.

John Black had a million origin stories and identity crises but because of Drake, and the magnetic orbit of his entire onscreen (and offscreen) persona you always knew he knew where home was. That's what made him so wonderful and what also makes this so sad.

Manny was overused because Guza was fascinated with the actor from nip/tuck. He became a Looney Toons villain, and then they brought Robert LoSardo back as his priest brother or something. I don't even remember what happened to either one of them.

I know just how you feel. When more of the OLTL and GH folks start to go (though some already have) I'll be the same. But even if I stopped regularly watching years ago it's very sad for any of us who grew up watching Days, or watched at any point in the last nearly 40 years. John Black is an institution.

People underrate him to this day. There is not a woman Drake did not have chemistry with and there is not a scene he phoned in. Ever. People always remember the goofy shít and make fun of him too much but there is a reason they did the Two Romans, there is a reason they didn't just swap him back out with Wayne Northrop. When Drake was on he was the epitome of the genre and he did great, great work. Just devastating.
