  1. I think you mean Marcia McClain, who in turn was replaced by Jacqueline Schultz. In the late 70s, Marcia McCabe was on SFT.
  2. I know! How can you not love a character/story like that? 🥰
  3. No worries! No offense taken.
  4. This is pretty much what the show is now:
  5. ^ Wow - what a Y&R treasure trove!!! 😎
  6. Wasn't Brenda's mother's name Veronica?
  7. This was great. Thank you for sharing it. 😊
  8. Speaking for myself, I consider SB's Golden Era to be from 1985-1990. That covers all the years they won Best Daytime Series, but I digress.
  9. Again, what a mess. I just don't see it getting better.
  10. That story was the biggest thing in soaps at one time. It set AW apart. Too bad more people who worked on the show didn't realize that.
  11. Thank you! Funnily enough, only a year later GH would reinforce Brenda's mental health issues with the resurgence of her mother. You are right that Brenda's breakdown shouldn't have had to do with Sonny. It would have been interesting to give her a mental breakdown for other reasons, and have it merely coincide with MB leaving the show. Then Brenda would be angry at Sonny for leaving her at such a crucial time.
  12. Never underestimate the importance if your show's history, soap writers/producers...
  13. At the time, I really connected with Brenda's breakdown story because I was in a state of severe depression. I wonder how differently I would feel about the story over 20 years later and in a better frame of mind. Something tells me the story wasn't as good as I thought it was back then. 😂
  14. That man just makes me sick. 😡😡😡😡😡
  15. Thanks for sharing that. Yes, the Paul/Stacy/Joan Dancy plot took up most of the second half of 1976 and into 1977. The scenes where Paul seduces Stacy are interesting. There was definitely sexual chemistry between the two with the "ick" factor thrown in. For someone whose run on the show was relatively brief (only about a year), Paul Carr was one of the most compelling actors the show ever had.
  16. 😂😂😂😂😂
  17. Poor Carrie Ann. She joined the show when the going was still somewhat good. Then her health broke down. I can't imagine why she'd want to rejoin now. 😢
  18. I know!! It's really amazing how slow some folks are with these issues. 🤯
  19. Along those same lines, do you think Jax would have stayed a focal character if Vanessa/Brenda had never left? Honestly, Jax time and time again turned out to be Brenda's second choice so maybe he was destined to be a superfluous character.
  20. You should be on the writing staff!! I like these ideas. 😊
  21. I never have been able to figure out why Christie was such a short-term character. Maybe Mary herself would have lasted longer if her sister and mother were kept around. Still, SB was never good at keeping families not named Capwell around for the long haul.
  22. Sounds to me like a bit of both. I am looking forward to listening to the SMS interview. It sounds great. Congrats to @Soapsudsfor the shoutout!!!
