  1. Ron C. is probably the writer in recent soap lore who is the closest to JER in tone and vision.
  2. That gif just says it all!! 😂😂😂😂😂
  3. They all look thrilled, don't they? 😳
  4. I tend to take everything Daily Mail says with a grain of salt, but I watched that entire episode. I don't believe it. Sharon was spewing just as much venom Elaine's way as she was Sheryl's. Still, Elaine's only been on the show for 6 months. Usually someone that new on an established show tends not to rock the boat. Maybe she feels the show is on borrowed time and has nothing to lose??? 🤔
  5. Well, AMC is doing it. If it's a success...who knows? 😊
  6. Of course, that's when the show went completely off the rails.
  7. I know!! How horrible. 😡😡😡😡😡 It would be great to have JJ back.
  8. Ironically, this was the story that introduced Mason to his first true love, Mary Duvall. I think this was the story that turned everything around for SB after a very shaky first year on the air. But yeah, Ted and Christie themselves were not very compelling.
  9. Thanks. Yes, I remember that week (December 1997, if I'm not mistaken) very well. I didn't know (or had forgotten) that the shootout at Luke's and Carly's bombshell to Tony happened in the same week. Personally, I think those particular Carly scenes were the best Sarah Brown ever had on GH (and she won an Emmy for them, too!!). Too bad the majority of Guza’s stories didn't hold the same promise.
  10. So sad and so unnecessary.
  11. If this show is still on the air by Christmas, I will be shocked.
  12. Thanks. I think it was eventually revealed how the story was originally supposed to end, but I don't remember what it was.
  13. No for me, too. SB really was a cringefest those first few months.
  14. Wasn't there also a Martin impersonator at some point? I think he fell through a roof. This was very early on - maybe even the first year.
  15. I couldn't find any other soaps on the resumes of the first three Marys - Kate Mulgrew, Mary Carney and Kathleen Tolan. Nicolette Goulet aka Mary #4 went on to SFT and GL.
  16. Yes, and it was creepy. Thank goodness Eden/Cruz happened and SB never looked back.
  17. I didn't even know that pairing Lionel with Julia was a consideration. Bleccch. I'm also glad that never happened.
  18. Thank you, @will81! Keep them coming if you can. 😎
  19. You did misread it, but that's OK. I didn't watch the Agnes Nixon tribute, but I should. Thanks again, @Errol.
  20. Thank you. I remember the Mexico story well. Good as Richard Steinmetz was, I found Martin a lousy cheater who had a wonderful wife (Pilar) out there who still lit a candle for him every night. Thankfully, Pilar stopped once she learned the truth about him.
  21. Honestly, after all these years the only Lucky for me. Even Greg Vaughan, who I liked, was just a different character with the same name. Having said that, it still felt weird seeing JJ back after 10 years away.
  22. What year was that again - 2004?
  23. They really did. Julia was a good friend to both Amy and Brick. Once Amy was killed off, Julia wanted Brick to father her baby (before she and Mason hooked up). It was a very touching scene. Brick was clearly flattered, but turned Julia down because he wanted to be part of his child's life and not a mere sperm donor.
