  1. True, but at least under Riche/Labine Sonny was more part of the ensemble. Under Guza/Phelps he ate the show.
  2. This sounds like a case of the inmates running the asylum at Sony (see also: Y&R).
  3. Lois Smith did a lot of good work on the show, but I think she was caught up in multiple writer changes as well as an influx of other new characters (and plenty of them came in at that time). Still, she managed to transcend what was on the written page and got a happy ending of sorts (Eleanor left town to become a world traveler). Then she went on to bigger and better roles.
  4. As far as I can see, Joseph Bottoms was the only SB cast member to actually be born in Santa Barbara. 😊
  5. Through the mail autograph success from Lois Smith aka Eleanor Conrad (1975-77):
  6. That's probably the best solution. I don't see any other way around it.
  7. Not much. They actually talked more about PC than GH.
  8. Well, at least Kirk's returns were always short-term. He'd stay long enough to rain on Eden and Cruz's parade and that's it.
  9. Actually, I would like to see Rex Smith on Alan's show. I found his story of meeting the son he never knew he had in the late 1990s (who looks like his clone) and staying close to this day really touching.
  10. I love this op-ed. "The rage of the responsible." What a great way to say it. https://www.sltrib.com/opinion/commentary/2021/08/23/paul-krugman-quiet-rage/
  11. I'm not sure. I saw it on eBay.
  12. Good points. In any case, it's sad.
  13. Here is Micki at a reunion for Don't Bother Me, I Can't Cope a couple of years ago. Also in the pictures is Marie Thomas Foster (Lauri James Iverson, The Doctors, 1972-75). May Micki RIP. 🙏❤
  14. Thanks. I had thought it was later.
  15. Kathy Glass (MJ #3) in 1970:
  16. She really could hold a grudge, couldn't she? Yikes. Was Susan Sarandon on SFT before or after this show? I think it was after, but I've seen conflicting dates.
  17. Exactly. When you host any kind of show, I think your guests and your viewers deserve more scintillating moderating than "wow...wow...wow...that's crazy". But more than that, he doesn't do his homework and often gets facts wrong. If he would work at it more and listen to constructive feedback, his show would be so much better. I don't want his feelings hurt, either. Constructive criticism is different than just bashing someone. I mentioned really liking his show with Krista Tesreau and Mark Lewis. Oddly enough, I think Mark Lewis directed a play I saw at Wheaton College many years ago. I read he's been there since 1995, and my church youth group traveled from Cleveland to Chicago and saw that play in 1997. I'll have to write him and check. I have long since forgotten the name of that play.
  18. Are the bonus materials (current interviews and such) still up?
  19. Sad to say, his interviewing skills have not improved. While I appreciate his ability to get terrific guests, his moderating leaves much to be desired. One of his better GL centered shows was with Krista Tesreau and Mark Lewis.
