Thanks. My library has Zim's book, I'll have to check it out soon.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
I just watched the parts with Maree and tuned the rest of it out. My cousin's three daughters, who love the NICK shows, positively LOVED S&C. They were very impressed when I told them that I got "Nona's" autograph (as I had written a fan letter to Maree not too terribly long ago and she responded).

What did you guys think of the character of Rafe Garretson (Ken Meeker)? He seems to always get lost in the shuffle of the other Buchanan men - Bo, Asa, Clint and Cord. He was on the show for over a decade. Was it Ken Meeker's choice to leave or was he let go? How was Rafe written out of the story?

Chandler Harben (Ben) has such a great YT channel, with so many LOL moments that would probably lost forever had he not saved his own personal recordings. Too bad no one picked up the show, like ABC had with EON, because no one will ever know whatever happened to Betsy.

Richard Eden shared on his FB page yesterday that he happened to run into A Martinez just randomly at a movie theater; they were both there with their wives. It's the first time they've seen each other in person since Richard left SB, though they are connected on FB. Great story - I just wish they had gotten a picture!!

You could be right. The only thing I'm positive about was that KZ was not around when the show ended.

What did you all think of Quinn Harding? I like what I've seen of her on YT. As played by the magnificent Petronia Paley, she was not only a great character for black women to emulate, but all women. Quinn was single and self-sufficient, raised an adopted daughter alone, had a nice circle of friends and got a steady boyfriend towards the end of her run in Zack Edwards. It's a shame they killed her off (in spring 1987 - who were the HW and EP then?) because she could have been a tentpole character for the rest of the show's run. At the time of Ms. Paley's departure, the only three members of the cast with more seniority were Ford, Wyndham and Watson.

That's right, I had forgotten that she was in The First Wives Club. She also did a great job in the Debbie Reynolds/Cliff Robertson VistaVision comedy My Six Loves, and the dramatic film based on Corrie ten Boom's autobiography about the Holocaust and being in the camps, The Hiding Place (which was produced by the Billy Graham organization).

"Secret Storm" memories.
Does anyone know what Rocket's real name was - or did they even give her one?

Randall Edwards (Delia #3) was a prominent guest star on the next-to-last Newhart as a snooty rich society woman and truly held her own opposite the snobby Stephanie (Julia Duffy, who started out in soaps herself). What's also interesting is that the episode was written by Julia Duffy's real-life husband Jerry Lacy (of Dark Shadows and Love of Life fame). Ms. Edwards did a great job and the episode is a lot of fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGUq-IvN10o

I think Kim Zimmer (who was pregnant IRL in early/mid 1982) left TD to have her baby and then never came back, taking the character of Nola with her.

Yeah, the few times I saw S&C I loved Maree as the loving yet zany Nona.

The only stand-out actress in any of the NICK shows I've seen (which isn't much, as I don't have kids) happens to be a soap alum - Maree Cheatham on the recently cancelled Sam & Cat.

She might have been better off as an associate producer on a different soap, maybe on OLTL or AMC when the latter was still made in NYC. Of course, I think her kids were grown by that point so she could have relocated to LA if she wanted to. Has she done any TV work since GL ended or has she faded into obscurity? I haven't heard anything about what she might be up to these days. Even though her marriage to Tom Eplin was short-lived, I know they stayed good friends and were able to work together again later both on-screen in the final months of AW and she was working offscreen as a director on ATWT when he reprised Jake McKinnon on that show. I wonder if they still keep in touch now.

I think I'll always remember Eileen Heckart best for The Five Mrs. Buchanans, the short-lived 1994-95 CBS sitcom where she was the matriarch who despised the wives of all four of her sons and the feeling was mutual. She just had that acid wit. Her Mrs. Buchanan was like a white Mother Jefferson, who was always insulting Weezy.
