  1. For all of you out there, which of the three Fairgate kids did you like the most?
  2. Never knew Lipton wrote EON. I'm guessing that was pre-Henry Slesar?
  3. I don't know, but I do recall that the Rachel/Alice/Liz scene at the house with Alice getting ready to attack Rachel was on YT at one time, but that was several years ago. I'd love to see it again, too.
  4. Oh, the next episode (8/20) features Martha Wash.
  5. Mrs. Therese Lamonte was played by the late, great Nancy Marchand - pre-Lou Grant and pre-Sopranos.
  6. Hey, does anyone remember a character named Carol Lamonte from the mid-70s? She worked for (and at one point had an affair with) architect Robert Delaney (Nicolas Coster). I came across an old clipping somewhere and it turns out the actress who played her, Jeanne Lange, was married to David Haskell. He may be best known in general for his work in both the stage and screen adaptations of Godspell, but is best known to soap fans as Nick Hartley on SB from 1985-86. Ironically, one of Mr. Haskell's SB co-stars was Nicolas Coster, who of course played Lionel Lockridge on that show. I was unable to find out if they were still married at the time of his passing in August 2000. Their only child, Alexandrea Haskell-Young, grew up to become an entertainment attorney in the LA area.
  7. I heard that. No wonder the show tanked. (Though to be fair, Capitol never really had great ratings throughout its 5-year run, did it?)
  8. I too loved Amanda and Cameron together. Sandra Ferguson and Michael Rodrick were incredible together. I read in the AW Trivia Book that John Littlefield was originally cast as Cameron in 1998, but then Tim Gibbs abruptly jumped ship to OLTL and JL was recast as Gary instead. I also recall reading in SOD in the spring of 1999 that Gary was going to be written out, but then the show was cancelled and they kept him to the end.
  9. It's definitely a juicy one!!
  10. Yeah, they paired up just as the show was winding down, so there really wasn't any outcry or protests that I can recall. Maybe if the show had gone on, there would have been.
  11. Patti D's L&O episode was from Season 3 and is entitled "Wedded Bliss". If you get a chance to see it, do so. The late Larry Keith of AMC fame guested in the same episode as a defense attorney.
  12. Yeah, I looked back on your post and I did indeed overlook it. I stand corrected. Good catch.
  13. Thanks for sharing. She looks pretty much the same as she did in her RH days.
  14. Did anyone see the episode about The Emotions last night? I knew that they worked closely with EWF but had no idea that one of the Hutchinson sisters had an affair (and a love child) with Philip Bailey. WOW.
  15. God rest him. In the past few days, we've lost Charles Keating, Robin Williams, Lauren Bacall and now Ed Nelson. Then, of course, there was the tragedy at the speedway in New York when Tony Stewart struck and killed one of the other competitors in the race. So, so sad.
  16. Getting back to the soap actors turned writers subject for a brief moment, I noticed another one. I was watching an ep of Loving on YT, one of the writers listed was Kathleen Tolan aka Mary Ryan Fenelli #3 on RH. She's since gone on to become a playwright, so I guess it's not too surprising. I also agree about Kathryn Hays. She was and still is a gorgeous woman - yet ATWT chose to make her look so frumpy. What a shame.
  17. Speaking of Ada's funeral, the scene that absolutely gets me every single time is when Rachel leaves the gathering to be alone for a moment in the garden and remembers how she and Ada discussed growing old. The thought of Ada having to be cared for by Rachel enraged her (Ada). Rachel said that when the time came, she would want to take care of her mother. As that flashback fades, we see Rachel back in the present, who breaks down in tears. That scene was beautifully written and brought to life in the very capable hands of Victoria Wyndham and Constance Ford. When Rachel takes her mother's face in her hands and tenderly strokes it, I was so moved by that unspoken bond. I also liked the ending credits, which was a montage of photos of Constance Ford - many of them taken with AW co-stars. Instead of the AW closing theme music, Tuck & Patti's "They Can't Take That Away From Me" played. Then the last frame had the "in loving memory of..." Frons, Lee, etc., wouldn't know good soap opera if it goosed them!!
  18. Sure - at least it didn't say so in the OLTL 30th Anniversary coffee table book.
  19. A shame, because Patti D'Arbanville was a dynamo when given good material. Her appearance on an early L&O episode as a sweatshop owner whose way of dealing with uncooperative kids by way of a hitman (who she was also cheating on her husband with) was absolutely chilling. The most chilling was the way she never showed remorse, rolling her eyes and staring down Michael Moriarty's EADA Stone. I don't remember the episode name, but it was from the beginning of third season - shortly before Paul Sorvino left and Jerry Orbach came in. If you all get a chance to watch it, do so.
  20. Amen!! With the very few exceptions of teen stories like Robin/Stone, I could care less about teen stories because most of them are badly written by writers who are clueless as to how REAL teens act. Speaking of acting, the people hired to play these teens were mostly cast for their looks and not their "talent". Meanwhile, the "mature" couples like Tom/Alice, Mac/Rachel, Carl/Rachel, Steve/Audrey, Joe/Ruth, Edward/Lila, CC/Sophia, Lionel/Augusta...they were sweet, loving, and were much more interesting both as couples and individuals than most of the characters polluting soaps today. It's people like Frons, Lee, Guza, etc., who have helped kill the genre.
  21. How long was RPG on the show before he defected to AMC?
  22. I thought Jesse was long gone by the time Danny appeared on the scene. I do remember that Drew was the daughter of Patti D'Arbanville's character, who had a thing with Buzz going for a little while. That's about it.
