  1. Does anyone know if any of the late Stanley Kamel's work on DAYS is online anywhere? I loved him as Dr. Kroger on Monk - and would love to see him in his soap role. I know his story was mainly with Susan Hunter Martin. Did he get to act at all with Denise Alexander, or had she already defected to GH by then?
  2. Well, anyone can write (or have ghostwritten) a tell-all. Ask anyone in Hollywood!! LOL
  3. I give her props for walking away to be there full-time for her kids, but what a bummer to soap fans who actually LIKE quality writing.
  4. How long after Travis died did Kentucky come on the show? I do believe it was Rod Arrants' choice to leave the show once his contract was up. It's a shame Will Patton didn't sign a contract because his relationship was Liza was sheer fun - and he was great at playing a guy who knew how to annoy and charm a woman at the same time. Plus, we would have been spared the whole Lloyd/Hogan saga. It would be great if there was more Liza/Travis available. I especially would love to see their story from the very beginning, to when Steve Kaslo dies and a dashing young billionaire businessman named Travis Sentell comes to town, instantly smitten with and charmed by the widow Kaslo. Speaking of Rod Arrants, he hit the big 7-0 a few days ago (9/5/1944). Wow!!
  5. Yes, no one can say that she didn't try! Then, when she couldn't find work out West, she went back to NYC and ended up creating roles on AMC and Loving. The latter, especially, provided her with a great opportunity to play a quasi-villainess in Deborah Brewster.
  6. I guess some people are addicted to decorating and re-decorating. Val should have gotten a show on the DIY network. LOL Maybe she could have turned to a career in flipping houses!!
  7. Did Nancy Curlee ever write for another soap after her successful run on GL? It seems that her stories and characterizations were very well liked by many fans.
  8. Congrats are in order for Susan Diol, who played Angela Holliday from 1993-94. Over the weekend, she married a certain Mr. William Newkirk, according to her FB page. Congrats to the happy couple!!
  9. Congrats are in order for Susan Diol, who played Emmy Borden in the early 90s (she was mainly used as a spoiler in the Bo/Carly romance). She tied the knot over the weekend with a certain Mr. William Newkirk, according to her FB page. Congrats to the happy couple!!
  10. I said coming up on 20 years - but weren't Robin and Stone already going together (thus the story beginning to unfold) in 1994?
  11. That scene breaks my heart every time. They picked the perfect music for it, too. Let me know about the article.
  12. Yup, and we're also coming up on 20 years on the Robin/Stone AIDS story.
  13. My mom, who watched Y&R when I was born (in the pre-VCR days, and worked full-time until I came along), had to follow the story by lip-reading (this was also pre-closed captioning). She still remembers "the four sisters", but not their names, and MTS and EB when they first came on the Genoa City scene. That must have been something else!!
  14. Interesting article - and of course, the stakes are so much higher now.
  15. No doubt she used a lot of her book money on decorating. LOL
  16. Or revive a few of them!! Hire the vets who are willing and able!!
  17. Yes - yet another P&G soap to waste the talents of the wonderful Petronia Paley (Vivian Grant).
  18. Thanks for posting these treasures featuring the late, great Sherry Mathis - who would be 65 if she were still with us today. Sadly, the clips of her from 1979 (singing at the piano, fighting off a snake - and then the diabolical Nick [played by her own future husband, Jerry Lanning], romantic walking on the beach with Travis) are gone from YT - I think the person who posted them deleted their account. I still have the 2006 issue of Memphis magazine with the feature on the lovely actress/songbird. I have the first few pages scanned but need to scan the rest. I don't have Photobucket or anything like that, so maybe I can just email it to Carl and he can put it on his Photobucket and then post it here. She did so much singing in her career - and it's absolutely criminal that barely ANYTHING she sang is available. No doubt P&G has some of her finest performances on SFT locked up in a vault someplace and won't share it with the public - that is, if they didn't already record over the tapes. Too bad they can't - or won't - do an on-demand DVD service for their soaps.
  19. It's nice to know that there are still folks who care about when soaps were GOOD!!
  20. That whole story first aired 20 years ago. Time flies!!
  21. That's awesome - thanks for the heads up!!
  22. That's so sweet. Thanks for uploading the clip!!
  23. I'm glad they made the switch from film to tape. SUN was a show that just didn't work with the film look. Thankfully, they figured that out pretty quick and went to tape in fairly short order.
