  1. Wow. As an aside, I thought he and Nathan Fillion looked enough alike to really be brothers.
  2. OK, thanks. I know that Cram and Koffman were the bookend Cassies, and I knew Gagnier had been on DAYS, but I wasn't sure if she was the second or third Cassie. I appreciate you clearing it up for me!!
  3. That's too bad about Mary Frann because I know the Newhart cast absolutely adored her. Maybe she found sitcom work and the pace of it better suited for her, and thus was more mellow? Speaking of Mary Frann, she was in one of my favorite cheesy 80s movies of all-time, Dance 'Til Dawn (1988), about the prom night in one little town and how it affects both the kids AND the parents. Ms. Frann played the wife of Cliff DeYoung and the mother of Christina Applegate!! Another soap alum (an Emmy-winning soap alum, at that) who had a prominent role in the flick was Brian Bloom (the first Dusty on ATWT) - who broke up with the popular Alyssa Milano character and asked the nerdy Tracey Gold character to prom in the hope of, ahem, making prom night a "special night". Has anyone else ever seen this? Trust me, Kelsey Grammer (who himself had a stint as a doctor on AW shortly before joining Cheers) and Edie McClurg as Tracey Gold's parents alone make this movie worth watching!!!
  4. Thanks for posting!! I may be in the minority, but I LOVE the Bill Chinnock theme ("Somewhere in the Night", and the opening titles themselves are much better here before they became 95% McCleary-fied). Glad to see so much of Jo and Stu here.
  5. I wish I got the channel, too. Hopefully some kind soul will post the eps on YT.
  6. I always get this mixed up - was Haddad on before Gagnier, or was it the other way around?
  7. Thank you, ghfan89!! One of his mothers-in-law was played by Sandy Gabriel, if I'm not mistaken.
  8. Richard did show up for Laura's funeral, right? He took custody of their sons and moved away?
  9. SB was only the second soap to start at an hour, after Texas.
  10. Exactly how many times was Tad married? I know he married Dixie multiple times, but I don't know his entire marital history.
  11. I remember reading that after Richard Eden (Brick Wallace, SB) left SB in the fall of 1987, OLTL offered him a role, but he turned them down because he wanted to stay on the West Coast. Does anyone have any idea what the role would have been?
  12. I love those old promos!! Heartbeat, of course, starred one past soap star (Kate Mulgrew, RH) and one future soap star (Ben Masters, Passions).
  13. Ahhh, the shyster lawyer Richard Avery. Wasn't John Pleshette also a writer on the show? I do know that the late Suzanne Pleshette was his cousin.
  14. Jaime Lyn Bauer's the only Laura I've ever seen. I'll have to see some clips of the other Lauras. Speaking of which, was SF still on the show when she did The Towering Inferno, or had she already left?
  15. Kate Linder/Esther still looks pretty much the same now than she did in 1985. Wow.
  16. Did anyone watch the Troop episode from last night? Next week (9/3) is Bone Thugs N Harmony.
  17. That is indeed a rare treat! Thanks for posting it.
  18. I love the pictures in the "Who's Who" - the 80s in all its glory. LOL
  19. SB really did know how to write romance, at least for the bulk of its run. I'm also giggling at the fact that such a romantic promo is immediately followed by a promo for wrestling. LOL
  20. Sharon Gabet has admitted that her character of Brittany was a mess all across the board. In her podcast interview on Brandon's Buzz last month, she said that the character was written into a whiny, sniveling mess in order to gain sympathy from the audience. At the time she was finally written off in early 1987, she was far along into her second pregnancy and took a few months off before joining OLTL.
  21. I just hope they keep posting more of these!!!
  22. Thanks for posting that episode. Tamara Tunie still looks exactly the same today!!
  23. Thanks - I wonder if any full episodes of the show in either incarnation exist somewhere.
  24. Whatever happened to Karen Witter, anyway? Wasn't OLTL her only soap?
  25. Most of the episodes are on TV One's website.
