SFT/Y&R/SB/GH: RIP Meg Bennett
RIP I remember reading that she would ad lib and tweak her lines and she was so good that Bell hired her as a writer. That's a huge compliment since Bell was known to have hated actors changing even one word of his scripts.

51st Annual Daytime Emmys to Air June 7 on CBS, Paramount+
He's referring to a fashion show he did with Ridge which relied on a secret ballot. Ridge won, but let Eric believe he'd won because Ridge knew Eric was dying. At the party, Eric found out that Ridge had lied, but instead of getting mad, told him that was the nicest thing he'd ever done.

John McCook mentioned the stapler is on his reel. 😄

51st Annual Daytime Emmys to Air June 7 on CBS, Paramount+
I would love for Finola to win but Watros is more likely. Gossett could easily string together a reel about his misdiagnosis that the panel will award, even if it's more for the topical story, than his performance.

That's where I stand, but KKL is better than the two B&B actors who won in Lead last year, so I can live with her nomination.

I'll bet anything GH will win every acting category in which they're nominated, though, so it won't be that evident come Emmy night.

Better nominations than last year... at least no Jason Thompson and JMW. It's silly that Alley Mills can get nominated for guest again after winning last year.

Especially when that person had already rejected you multiple times, including earlier that night! Well, it looks like RJ IS going with just being mad at Zende because he slept with his girl... what was the line today "you knew who you did that to" and he meant himself, not Luna!

He's terrible, but at least he is the first freaking person to blame Zende. Let's hope he actually acknowledges he did something *to her* not just that it was wrong to bang his cousin's girl.

On YouTube, click the gear icon next to the CC button, select subtitles, select German (auto-generated), select Auto-Translate, and then English. Of course, it's not a perfect transcript. @rsclassicfanforever was 1990 not aired in Germany, or you just didn't have it? Thanks @FrenchFan for the recaps!

I can't see a reboot happening for ATWT and GL. I'd be interested in seeing the vets, but most will be retired, deceased, or onto other shows by now. A new show would have to focus on the younger generation. As someone who tuned out of those shows long before they were cancelled, I have no idea who all the kids are and don't care about them, so it wouldn't be viable for me (and I'm on the much younger side of the average age of a soap viewer...). A show like Edge of Night you could reboot because it's basically just a cool title and a general concept and you could do anything you want from there. You won't have fans complaining that you're not honoring the history of the Hughes and Bauer families or be bound by 60 years of history and family connections. What I do think could have worked, and am surprised no one ever thought of this, would be licensing characters from shows like ATWT, GL, AMC, and OLTL for Hallmark-style movies for TV or streaming (ABC soaps might be trickier to license). There would be some nostalgia for that, I think, and you'd have a better chance of getting cameos from the old guard or those who are on other shows (Maura West). You could build up a new generation of characters by doing 1-3 movies a year and they could work as standalones for viewers who just like those kind of movies anyway. It wouldn't be too expensive to produce and the schedule would be flexible. Michael Damian would be the perfect person to do this!

It just occurred to me that B&B has never once done a TV spot promoting the classics on their YouTube channel. There must be lots of viewers who don't know about it. They used to advertise that Soap City website all the time. Maybe it's different because YouTube is an app, not a site that CBS owns, but at least a scroll or something. I agree with you, though, that airing classics on TV could whet appetites and get people viewing online.

I'm all for de-SORAS (go Chance, Heather, and Claire!). I'm not pretending Nikki and Victor got married in the 70s just because Amelia and Josh are older.
