Y&R: March 2024 Discussion Thread
I just watched the intro of today's show with the CGI fire. At this point it's like shame on me for even watching this dreck. This is sad. Even sadder is that I'm almost impressed they did this instead of just saying it happened offscreen. I swear they should just transition to radio at this point.

Thanks @Toups Here I was thinking "in development" meant a Bible was written. But MVJ only just announced her departure from B&B, so she clearly hasn't been at the point Reilly mentions where he goes on salary. It sounds like he wrote the Bible and outlines as independent contractor... but MVJ's B&B contract may preclude her working on projects like a competing soap? So they may be only starting to write the Bible just now, but there must have been some kind of pitch, if not a full Bible?

I don't want to get this thread too off topic, but, yeah. I thought that the incredibly apparent DGAF budget at Y&R in particular was a sign of not wanting to invest in soaps because they see no potential for the audience to grow and just want to hold on to the share they have without losing too much audience. Now CBS has a new soap in development, so they do believe an audience can be grown. And this show will have to put some money into sets and production. It's typical for newer soaps to do some location filming and do some visually interesting things to set the tone, so, I don't know, it will be weird to have a splashy new show airing after Y&R which consists of characters walking back and forth between two sets drinking from empty cups and B&B with its 35 year old sets... because I think and hope that the new show is going to have energy. It's all very speculative, of course.

B&B/Y&R: March 2024 Spoilers
This is why it's hilarious when Danny says he needs to be around Phyllis to "co-parent" their adult son (Michael Graziadei is 44 years old). He had no problem raising Daniel faaaar away from Phyllis during his formative years, and rightfully so.

These lists are great! Has anyone made a list that also details the quality? I used to be able to keep track in my head but not anymore. There was a spreadsheet called "BB by year" in the vault but it's not really updated. Like for Season 1, it would be like Episodes 1-50 Video: Excellent Language: English Subtitles: No 51-250 Video: Excellent Language: Dual English/German Subtitles: No That way we kind of hone in and which ones need to be upgraded later? Ideally, we someday have a full set of HD English videos without subtitles!

I've had to private this, but making it unlisted again. Such a brilliant scene.

As The World Turns Full Episode List
I had been wondering if you saw the preemption information posted by @JAS0N47 in the Ratings threads for the 70s, 80s, and 90s. It's a treasure trove and you'll be able to confirm most airdates.
