  1. Yes, or there is a planned production dark period assuming they've stockpiled some episodes for a break.
  2. Debbi Morgan is 67, and I believe resides in Maryland (easy commute to ATL)...
  3. She needs to have YOUNG black writers that she and here team can train on the ins and outs of writing soaps. The unfortunate thing is she does not have an expansive pool of black soap writers who understand the nuts and bolts of the genre to tap into (this is where daytime failed) - but hoping she can use this opportunity as a chance to create opportunities and train up and coming black talent.
  4. We also have confirmation from this source that the show is shooting in Atlanta! @vanguard @Errol
  5. it makes sense Michele would want her friends to help her on her show. Thankfully, neither Guza nor Carruthers are actually steering the actual ship. Assuming the other writer they refuse to name is Patrick Mulcahey...
  6. Well, Karen ain't here to show that anymore.
  7. I personally find the show unwatchable at this point, and the returns aren't enough to get me excited for something better. There's systemic issues with this show and it will never move forward.
  8. Highest opening for an R rated film of all time too! I think the film has a good chance to join the $1bIllion club - the only other R rated movie in that club is Joker.
  9. And you can tell Maura and Cynthia love working with each other too.
  10. She was getting ready to attend the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere in NYC. Like A Prayer is used in the trailer, but also in an important sequence in the movie itself (which she gave music notes on). Ryan Reynolds has been telling a story during this entire press promotion of the movie about how he had to go to Madonna’s house and ask for permission to use the song, and how it was like asking royalty for something. Madonna doesn’t usually license her music to outside parties, so it was a rare thing that she said yes (particularly a song like Like A Prayer).
  11. Marvel Studios is notorious for completely micromanaging and overhauling their projects in both pre-production and post-production. To varying degrees of success. Definitely not out of the ordinary for them, but definitely a wait and see as there isn’t too much out there to really judge the new show-runner on. In related news, Kevin Feige is making the rounds promoting Deadpool & Wolverine this week. He mentioned that they’re excited to finally tap into the more soap opera elements of the X-Men IP in live-action soon. He might not necessarily be a fan, but Feige does seem to have a shred of respect for soaps. Perhaps because his grandfather was Robert E. Short - who once oversaw soap operas for P&G as the Executive In Charge of Production.
  12. The only plus for me is that I can’t see Guza taking any of Frank’s sh!t and he’d ignore any feedback he’d get from Frank and do whatever the hell he wanted.
  13. Some news, shows that CBS is really behind this project, IMO: CBS Teams With NuTime Media to Sell Ads for New Soap Opera ‘The Gates’
  14. The City’s production format should definitely be attempted again. It wasn’t the problem and the technical team did it well IMO. I would love it if The Gates uses a similar production format.
  15. This video is hilarious because almost none of it ended up being true. It’s interesting that NBC hyped this up so much and talked about how much faith they had in it for Sunset Beach to be largely undermined by NBC’s own affiliates right from launch.
  16. May not be anything new to complain about as these people were likely the scab writers during the strike.
  17. My feeling as well - they were writing uncredited during the strike, and now that some time has passed, they're being given the official job.
  18. Yeah, he was fired because of the panto thing, but it was time for Barry to go though...
  19. The show is nominated for a Primetime Emmy!
  20. Is Josh Griffith now writing this sh!t? There is no reason why this Drew/Nina/Willow story needed to be exposed so quickly.
  21. Aw, she really gave it her all and fought courageously. May she finally be at peace.
  22. Aw, she really gave it her all and fought courageously. May she finally be at peace.
  23. Laura is stupid, but I can’t take more of a Brook Kerr’s yelling and flailing her hands in every scene. Probably an unpopular opinion here, but I do not think she’s a strong or even charismatic actress.
