Heated Rivalry
It made perfect sense. It's something that I believe in myself. Just looking at the various people that I've been attractive to. There have just been too many people in my life who I never thought of them as anything when I met them or just a friend. But being around long enough and time passes and well...things happen. Your comment honestly made me think of a coworker who wanted me at random (?) to judge his strengths and weaknesses as a coworker. I found it odd given the circumstances, but I've always have had great observational skills and have trained several people in various jobs so I feel that I am good at pointing such things out. For him...I felt he is very personable with the guests...even when other coworkers or even myself might find him slow...and that can go a loooong way to people having a good experience and wanting to come back. His weakness is his lack of self-awareness. In this case, a LOT of information is thrown his way and his memory is not the best. I personally suspect its due to outside factors (from again observations of him alone, him and his relationship with his mother who I work with, loose bits of info+ public interaction), but I've had given him strong tips as best I can so he could grow in that department. But horse, water, drink. :) But that's me speaking professionally. Personally...I have a crush. I'm too professional to pursue such a thing, but I am self-aware to pick up on it within myself. But a lot of the qualities you mentioned above is what I've noticed in him as I got to know him. I also notice he has such low self-esteem about it and found it maddeningly. Cuz if he didn't have that, I feel he could go far professionally and personally. I got the impression before we both did major schedule changes that the feeling might have been mutual because he would ramble on about things that made no sense...as if he was trying to say something without actually saying something. Which took me aback. If I had time...which I never do at work...I would love to sit down and just...talk. And he loves to talk. But I just feel that is a boundary I should not cross. And while I see a lot of good qualities in my coworker, I also feel there's still a long of growing up and learning about yourself there to do. I'm still growing, but I would be perhaps too far ahead in my own self-development. It probably why I love that Scott resonated with his vulnerability with Kip even though he was soooo scared to voice how he felt and did it anyway. But to be fair, I've done that before, too. Okay now I'm rambling. Like others, I loved what you said. Awww those most definitely were the days. I liked Claire Labine then, but I feel that if I was to sit down and watch her now I would just love her. All I have are my memories of that time (Luke and Laura came back and it became Must See for my mother so I slowly started to follow along; OLTL became my favorite ABC soap). As for William Bell, just a masterclass to me. People talk slow it, but he always had layers going on with his characters which was something I noticed and liked even when I was young. Amen.

1-12 @Maxim COME GET YOUR GIRL!!!! She's acting like Kristen Dimera again...right down to talking to herself! lol. Well, I see this week is off to a great start. While there's no sign of Anita (but explained), it's nice to explore another angle from her story. In this case, the reveal that Dani has the gene. I was living for the Dani/Nicole scenes. I do admit that I am finding it a little odd that it seems like such a bigger deal when it seem like Nicole was a carrier...well worry coming from her kids Martin and especially Kat. While it feels like something is definitely going on with Naomi in the reaction scenes, it really does not seem as major (?) as it seem from Martin and Kat. I guess the writing just needs more time to feel out Naomi and Chel's individual POVs. We got weeks of stories out of Kat and her feelings and some for Martin's. I wonder if Naomi and Chels will get more of the same. I admit that I like that there has been an uptake in Ted/Andre scenes. It was getting to be as rare as Ted/Martin scenes. With his scenes with Shanice, too, it felt like the impossible might be happening. I might be coming around to Ted. And awww at Andre trying to mend fences between Ted and Carlton. Bill...HOW DARE YOU!!!! It feels natural? REALLY?? I didn't like his dialogue at all. After all, he LEFT her. Thank God, Andre (and Sean) stepped it up and let Bill know what time it is! Good to have the Bill/Dani/Andre triangle active. And oh my God! That red dress! The hair! The camera angle! The...talking to herself! Hayley continues to channel Kristen Dimera and I...AM...LIVING. It was hilarious. And I hope that Tomas hearing her is another way for him to wind up exiting the canvas. Good cliffhanger. Ashley continues to be better as supporting.

1-9 You know what? I thought that was a pretty good week actually. And now we got another gay character with a bubble on canvas, too? YES, PLEASE. I guess it was good because there was some movement. I have been enjoying the Taylor/Deacon/Sheila triangle (though why is Li Sheila's confidante...I know why, but still doesn't make sense). And after being a nice B plot, it was good to see it start to have more focus. And twists. Deke having an issue with the marriage! Steffy overhearing Taylor and Deacon! Taylor and Deacon almost kissing! Just messy, but good. I like Daphne, but I could care less about her marrying Carter. I wouldn't believe him, either. Where's Thomas?

Short version...he threw her off that Wyndermere parapet. So no love lost there. She was on the right side of (Cassadine) history with that one. But I had already timed out of viewing when the majority of their history happened (I came back a few episodes briefly after the parapet throw) so someone else can answer it better than me.

I didn't even think of the possibility that bringing Ava in would kick Lucy completely out of the story. If anything, I thought another case of characters who should be in an A or B story being put in another C story like what they did with Ric when Ava, Alexis, and Kristina was holding him or Ric/Ava/Lucky/Liz being in the backburner. I hoped that since there has been such a heavy emphasis on mentioning Ava vs Lucy in dialogue that would not be the case. Then again, that heavy dialogue might, in hindsight, be a case of block filming. Moreso methinks because we haven't had another scene with the ladies. YET. And I'm really anticipating their next scene I see. Such seeing Lucy feisty was good, but when REAL Ava leaped out for a few seconds...just ooooo chills and drooling at the possibility. Ooooo I LOVE that idea. Lucy and Laura with Sonny in the middle (meaning Maurice might have to show up) would be a gold mine of story. And YES to Ava trying to become a power player again. Her getting her money back from Ric shows she still thirsts for that power. I'm surprised that's an angle the writers haven't tried to use yet. And I'm soooo here for cunning Lucy. There have been (too-brief) moments of her popping out as well. I mean she has started and run businesses...that's nothing to sneeze at. IKR! re: ADA. I don't like her at all anywhere else, but she was great against Alexis in the courtroom. I wouldn't be against her in court scenes again some time soon-ish.

Hissss!! lol. But seriously why I don't like them I understand why you do. But too much elephant in the room and silly (not funny IMHO) writing for me to take them seriously. However, I do agree on a happy Cody. Come sit by me, Girl cuz SAME. I loathe them oh so much. Also agree. I can't believe Willow has me rooting for her.

And I believe that as well re: Drew/Nina. They were already snapping at each other before PM came in. And I already figured and kept saying they were going to have hate sex. Once PM came in, suuuure enough. lol. Just like Dani and Andre and their fling over at BTG, I just knew it would grow into something more. And it was nice to see that happen, PM building such nuances in both of them. THAT's how soaps build a couple and it was nice to see a writer who knew how to do it, making naysayers of people who said they don't even like either and/or both of them. I also felt they were going to be the endgame in the brewing Nina/Drew/Willow triangle as well. So it's a shame to see her in the background when so much is going on that affects her. I would also like a best of both worlds because this Drew/Willow mess has been deliciously twisted and I totally eating it up.

First of all...shock of shocks...CAUGHT UP!!! The power of the binge. lol. And this past week was so completely worth it!!! Everything leading up to the reveal (at least to the audience...and okay Trina/Kai) that Willow shot Drew was superb. And just cuz....C ALL IT! CALL IT! CALL IT! That said...reading some of the comments, I can see why people thought it would be other people. Okay...anyone other than Michael who always seem like a red herring. I did love the curveball of Curtis (and seeing any sighting of Ms. Wu). And of course, I love how the trial incorporated the Portia mess. But Willow has never recovered from losing her kids and how Katelyn Mac plays Willow from then to now has always reflected that in subtle and non-subtle ways. It just made sense. Even with a trial. Now I do wonder...if she gets off...that's double jeopardy, right? Which means she can lose it again, shoot Drew again, and get away with it? If so...WATCH OUT DREW cuz that woman don't love you. And I love that Katelyn plays it like that and Drew is so obsessed in love with her, he doesn't even see it. I gotta give the ADA actress her due. She has been good during Willow's trial. And I love her getting Drew to have the meltdown. And I loved CM playing that bitter jealousy at Michael on the stand as well as that obsessiveness with Willow. He is probably going to lose his mind himself before this is all said and done. And anytime I can see Alexis in a court room is great to watch. And NLG has played it to the hilt. I've enjoyed every moment of it. And how Alexis tricked Tracy was hilarious. Now...writers...LET MARTIN VS TRACY IN A WACKA WACKA BATTLE OF WITS GO!!!! JESUS!!! I admit that I wondered who wrote the note to Alexis. But I should have noticed given the silliness of the letter who it was! And that flashback to give the reveal just made me rolled my eyes when I was honestly intrigued. It's not fun. It's not at all cute now due to the Ronnie storyline. LET THE MOUSE GO. So Jason and Britt still haven't slept together due to some off-screen scene. Ugh. coughblockfilming*cough* Interesting scene of Erza with Jacinda as well as Laura. After playing a buffoon for quite a while, why are we allowing Erza any layers or hint of depth? Hmmm. Honestly...if Lucy vs Ava is a GO...I'm here for it. But given our discussion and what I've read about the writers' view on Ava, maybe not. It sounds like what I have written about Drew vs Curtis and how you can tell which HW likes to write for them and which one does not. You know what? When Sidwell plays it straight (which can be done with charm like how he is now) vs slapsticky...he seems quite formidable. And great cliffhanger with Trina and Kai running to Alexis.

1-9 First of all, I see CBS is at it again with their player so I hope Tuesday is up and running before I head to work tomorrow cuz I wanted to see Jordi. That said...just did my rewatch and it holds up so much better on a second viewing. Not that the first viewing was bad. I feel like this week has been the first non-holiday related week in a while where it just flowed. I didn't feel anything was too jarring (outside of Andre's insecurities) and as I love to say...an A or just main story with other stories surrounding it. I hope this new week is more of the same. It's just the layers I've seen with the Anita's Cancer storyline. I already immediately side-eyed Anita at the start of the episode because she's already trying to push Vernon away. I thought Tracy's and Bill's talk would have gotten through to her, but yet there she was. And I just feel that's going to grow. Not helped by the coda of Vernon not immediately telling her about Dani's diagnosis. Then you have the testing of Dani and Nicole. I loved how it was drawn out all week and allowed to breathe. And yep. Like most of all, I just assumed it was going to be Nicole, too. Even though I KNOW I want to see her in her triangle with Carlton and Kial and not medical drama. So I liked she was negative. Which made Dani being positive that much more shocking. I'm not sure how I feel about it. Is this a way to make Dani less dynamic? Or a way to make Dani more of a damsel in distress between Bill and Andre? That were my first concerns and worries. I definitely want to see where it goes. Just...worried. And I'm also curious to see where all of this is going with Jacob and Naomi. Cuz it feels like it's going to go somewhere. Cuz Naomi is being like how Anita is being with Vernon...pushing him away. For the first time, I wondered if Jacob and Naomi would even be together by the end of the year. I know...soap long-term. I guess I'm happy to see the good guy/good girl couple have some drama coming up that doesn't feel like it will come to an abrupt end. But their current drama feels choppy to me. Happy to see Chels and Kat make up. But with the reveal that Nicole is negative and Kat is in the clear...I immediately wonder what beat they will play with her.

DAYS: Four actors OUT!
I'm like everyone else. Those would be the last people I would remove from the show. And from just my readings and light viewing, Johnny and Chanel seem to central to be cut. And NO to a Trina recast. However YES Carson could totally bring his talent and that bubble over to B&B as nuRJ. THIS.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
RHOP Well, I still haven't finished this past Sunday's episode yet, but I still wanted to give my thoughts on the two episodes preceding it. The buildup to the Colorado trip and its start was good for me. What surprised me was that Angel stepped up. She held her own during the attempted ambush at the family event. She FINALLY came for Ashley at Monique's event. And then she got her lick back on Gizelle and Ashley! And then the episode ended with her letting them know what time it is. Good. She has not been doing good at all, but she redeemed herself a bit. While the episode was going on, I loved the side-stories we were getting. I was shocked at how all the stuff happened with Wendy and her family. But I was glad to see it because that has been bubbling beneath the surface for seasons for me. And it finally started to explode, making up for the quick resolution to what was going on with Eddie's family last season. Then there was Tia and the story about her father's house. We even saw a bit of Stacey with her man...and he just seem shy to me. And wise because he knew good and well (as did we) that those ladies have turned picking on a housewife's husband into an art form. Why play? So...he didn't. And they STILL picked on him while he was gone. And then the trip itself? So far, it's crazy, but it's been fun. Seeing Angel show some backbone and get her lick back. Wendy getting a WHOLE floor...and dancing. And one thing that this show has done great versus the other Housewives show...knowing when to place that TO BE CONTINUED. GIZELLE. Just when Gizelle was winning...REAL Gizelle shows up. Le sigh. Angel was within bounds to go after Ashley. So her declaring she wouldn't go on the trip if Ashley didn't? GIRL, BYE. Angel got her back good. And yet Gizelle was at it again at the end of the episode with the 'tea.' GIRL, GONE. She just mad that Angel finally met her on her level. That said...I stay loving each and every time someone mentions binder around her. hehe. Still traumatized. WENDY. Wooooooooooooow. The cultural clash of it all. I knew there was always more to Wendy and her family. Well beyond just friction with Eddie's family. So it was good to see more of it...and Wendy showing more, but THAT??? Just...her mother and her sister seem almost mad at Wendy for being able to have her own debatably successful life versus what her mother want for her. And I felt Wendy was in the right to not want the kids to hear anything like what was said about the grandfather. For me, that was very old school in the South. But there were also families that would not care about young'uns being around to hear stuff they are too young to hear. So it really resonated with me. Personally, it would be nice if more people had that old school approach with their kids. And then add on the culture of Nigeran parents and their kids and seeing why Wendy's mother might be offended. Then that all just spiraled all the way out. And of course, Production is always watching when it comes to Wendy's coin. And if not...KEIARNA is cuz she got Wendy good when she said 'my bags are real.' OOPS. And Wendy has been hilarious on the trip so far. I was with her all the way giggling. ASHLEY. Ewwwwwwwww. Not Cha Cha's son. But Ashley does love to be clowned (and Keiarna did it in her Confessional). I loved that Angel finally came for her because she has been talking too much. If it ain't Angel, she's bothered by Stacey. I like she's gotten back to her pot stirring ways, but enough. KEIARNA. What was the point of the scenes of Greg ring shopping if all he was going to give her is a PICTURE FRAME? BOY, GONE!!! That said...I enjoyed her moving into the Colorado trip. I still can't believe she got a little moment on Wendy at Monique's event. And I hollered at her Confessional about Ashley and Cha Cha's son. And then her and the tears...lol. STACEY. Got her a whole tub on the trip! IKTR!!! lol. And see? She was right about the ladies and her man. She was darned if she did, darned if she didn't. So good she was just...unbothered. I'm also happy to see that she doesn't care for Cha Cha, either. TIA. Just giving. First, with her backstory. Then with her kids and that dynamic. That was followed by the long-lost sister. And now...well...she didn't really do much...funny since this Angel vs the Mean Girls over the house rumor came from her bone carrying. That said...she made up for it with the story about her father's home. Best new housewife. ANGEL. FINALLY!!! I liked that the energy she had in her Confessionals she was starting to show OUTSIDE of them and TO people's faces. Her coming for Ashley at Monique's event was a happy accident, but I loved it. I also loved how she handled herself when they tried to ambush her at the start of the episode. And I hollered at the lick back. Just keep this energy for the whole last half of the season and she should be fine. HONORABLE MENTION: MONIQUE. GIRL, STOP!!!! She knew what she was doing by doing a game for one. And a game using a binder for two. And while some found her table comment in poor taste...I thought it was funny that she could poke fun at herself at least. HONORABLE MENTION 2: ERANA FROM LAMDC. Erana always looked good. And while I'm still at the start of Season 2 in my long ago viewing, it's good that Monique is still connected to some of the cast. Unlike Monique and Ashley from that show. Hope to finish Sunday's episode soon.

Well that's good to hear. I am still far behind, but Heather was playing both sides of the fence and coming for Lisa in Confessionals while being nicey-nice to her face.
