  1. Hmmm. Perhaps. I feel Karla was great at the start...and still like her...but Dani currently does not have half of the interesting nuances she had when the show started. But tbf, Karla has not been given the opportunity to bring it like that again to date. Though I'm sure it's coming.
  2. In my Nicole Walker voice... ...WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHATTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't even cotton to Summer being recast, but Allison Lanier won me over. Great actress and I loved her energy in scenes where she felt like she told a story throughout an episode in her scenes and took her character through an emotional arc. Even when the writing turned against her, Allison found a way to show strength. She did...for a while...have the ability to turn lemons into lemonade for me. And it goes without saying that I loved her Summer with Chance. And one of the few actresses in the Y&R opening that gave fierce with that mane of hair of hers. So irked. THIS. Because once AL and ZS got comfortable in their roles, when they had scenes together, they were fire.
  3. But what could happen. lol.
  4. I would like that. It keeps them all in the same orbit without running to the well of the triangle too soon. Heck, it could be a nice slow burn, allowing for what you said about humanity, too. And lead to Dani's drunk car crash if played right. Perhaps the writers think it's too soon to try something like that, though.
  5. I mean...if that's the case...can we get a (good) remodel of the Chancellor estate next?
  6. I don't think she's out of place. However, one of the main storylines that appears to be going to be around for a while is Dani/Bill/Hayley. And that cannot be sustained with them all constantly in each other's orbit in a wash, rinse, repeat pattern...which sadly they really have done with Dani too much by the end of Month 1. They are doing the right thing by keeping them LOOSELY in each other's orbit, but that is a well they can't even mine too much right now. The best the writers can do is to develop all three characters separately so that when they go to the well of the triangle again...which it is a soap and KM and TG have that IT chemistry so I am sure they will...the audience can be split. The best way to develop them separately is with their own stories going on. It's a given that Dani has the best option for that with her thing with Andre, deciding on a business, and her growing drinking problem. Bill was coming in second with the lawsuit, but he also has to be that villain guy who knows where all the bodies are buried, and now he has a tremor in his hand that only Naomi knows about. The weak link has been Hayley who has had too brief or comedic struggles with trying to establish herself as the new Ms. Bill Hamilton. They could lean into that with her and continue the friendship with Derek...or even Eva once her part in the Silk Press Sheila storyline comes out. But keep them growing until an event (say Drunk Dani car crash) can draw all three back together and see how the triangle appears with all three characters with some story mileage under them. I don't find her out of place for now, but they cannot maneuvered her around as easily as they would like because the main story for her is right there out in the open and already overused. Which is odd because typing that sentence Dani is kinda having the same problem as Ashley...and they are both characters who easily have connections to other characters so they could easily be spun out of the corners they appear to be stuck in.
  7. None really. NOW for stories with the possibilities of having a turn in it. I would say the stuff with Vanessa/Joey/Diego...not so much Doug cuz the part of his story of him fighting his addiction could cook just a week or two longer...but something could come out with Vanessa at the anniversary party which as Nicole's BFF, she should be there. And then something happens that causes a delay. lol. I know you don't mind that person on that show at all. See? Another turn that could easily happen at the anniversary party, too.
  8. 4-25 Yeah, I could almost throw the whole week away. Almost. After setting up the story of Diane redesigning the Abott mansion, I was at least invested in that. And being unspoiled for how it would look. I...liked it. AND we got a flashback between Jack and John, too? I am looking forward to Traci and Ashley's reactions. And just like the returned Newman Ranch, it has a little more space. I don't know how long those chairs in the foreground will be there though. It was a nice 'facelift.' Audra slowly putting the moves on Kyle. I was surprised she still got it. Well with him that is. Chemistry. But like I said already...a scheming Audra is a dangerous one. That's all I had about this week. Compared to B&B (and BTG), suddenly, Y&R is just...boring.
  9. I've said the same. So good to see that Martin's secret is coming off the backburner just as the Nicole/Ted/Silk Press storyline is heading toward climax. I've even wondered today if Martin vs Ted that is in the promo might be a trigger to get him to have total recall for the audience. Fingers crossed. And yes, I definitely like they are starting in on a story for Anita at last. Still hoping that will be the next event aka the police fundraiser.
  10. 4-25 I liked it. Compared to Y&R, at least there were stories going on. I could care less about the Liam Is Dying storyline though I liked there was progresson, and that Steffy finally got through to Liam. And then the fashion show (wow Heidi actually got a line or two!) was a nice bounce back. I had wondered ever since it was announced and since BTG did one, if B&B would be able to keep up. And...I would say YES. Extras. Stuff going on. Cameos. Didn't look cheap like the one that Esther from Y&R was here for...though I liked that one. I heard people hating the fashion show and Brooke being the showstopper. I thought it was cute. What I don't like is how Eric is trying to play matchmaker for Brooke and Ridge. And it just gives us silly fights between Brooke and Taylee...and even when it IS a good fight...aren't we tired of this? I would rather Ridge and Taylee have their own drama...where is Morgan?...and Brooke is spun off into her own storyline...or messing with someone else. Wasn't she about to be on Daphne's neck for working to come between Hope and Carter? For example. So basically I thought it was a good week.
  11. I see what you did there. I would love for it to be old school and we got other storylines coming to a turn at the least. Same. They have gotten better at it IMHO.
  12. In time. Fingers crossed. tbf, hasn't that been say for a while, no? Heck, did most of us not point out that there has been a clear decrease in airtime for Derek and Ashley versus when the show premiered. And when we do see them as of late, it more definitely feels like filler. Personally it makes me think about my comments in Week 1 about how meta Ashley/Derek seem because for years black characters on other soaps have been treated how Ashley/Derek were being treated as the talk-tos/barely any story development even though the potential is there. Heck, these scenes lately feel like to me the writers are getting lick backs for all the times black characters had to deal with subpar story material on other soaps. Funny to laugh at in good and bad ways for the characters. I just feel sorry for the actors. Because like you and @ReddFoxx said, there's potential in story for them still. And I like both of your ideas for where to take Ash and Derek.
  13. Not at all. I expect a good May Sweeps. Yep. Both great ideas and organic to what we have seen from both characters. She is going to eat the next two weeks up. Because I totally feel that Mona giving everyone the day off on today's episode is going to factor in to what Silk Press Sheila does post-reveal. I don't think you are alone at all. I would say it's a 50/50 split here with those who like the character storytelling (which can lead to soapy moments) and those who don't feel it's soapy enough (even when there are tropes that are indeed soap tropes though they have not been used on soaps in ages). In the end, butting heads aside, I think we all want that happy balance. Hopefully by end of sweeps. Of when the show finds that rhythm once we hit the episodes where they got the critiques from people.
  14. Now tbf, they have been teasing Martin's secret slooooooooooooowwwwwly. Especially Month 1 where it went from Martin just reacting to the audience hearing sounds as he dreamt to FINALLY an image. Then it vanished for the most part Month 2...something I've been pick, pick, picking on since it was in danger of falling off the backburner. So happy to see the imagery...in true soap slow burn fashion...is getting CLEARER. Fingers crossed it will be at the police fundraiser Anita is working on with Jacob's father.
  15. I mean...bright side...given the previous preemptions threw off the story momentum, this might readjust it roughly back to where it should be.
  16. Same. I mean I do wonder if we will still get some form of the Have-Nots scenes period. Very. I see he has improved since the last time he was on...but he was easily the worst actor on the show for me. And yes, that includes Derek.
  17. They really do act like they have been mother and daughter for years. Chemistry. Even today in that flashback, their relationship shined so good. She may be about revenge, but I do believe that Leslie loves that girl, too. Well if dates are to be believed, it seem like there will be plenty of mileage time before the recast even appears so money's worth will be had. Though I am starting to get curious when the recast will come in. Like will Ted go out of town and then a week or half a week later come back. Or will be one of those soap like recast situations. LOL lol. Same!!! Wouldn't that be something?
  18. Ever since that luscious raven hair flew out of that biker helmet. So many memes and photos. I still love the Leslie/Dana doll one. And that the actress got to see it. hehe. Lightning in a bottle.
  19. Now that we are finally here (and May Sweeps at that), Oooo my anticipation is heading upward. And the ending today was perfection.
  20. Same. One thing that I've said with no doubt...the Nicole/Ted/Silk Press Sheila has been THE story of this show that has been the best paced so far. Twists. Turns. Near-Misses. Allowed to build. Has branched out enough that even when the main part of it is over...it will STILL have mileage in the form of Eva vs Kat...and that is just assuming that it WON'T turn out the way that it is currently looking.
  21. Thursday is sooooooooooooooo far away.
  22. Thank you! That's why I loved that Martin clarified to Chelesa today. I can't even be around some guy sometimes without some random person walking up thinking we are together and then try to proposition us as if we are a couple. Uhhhh NO.
