  1. The only thing that struck me as “off” about the place was the fact that the wait staff appeared to be overwhelmingly male (at least during brunch, which tends to have a high number of diners who are women) who seemed to flirt A LOT, likely trying to get tips (and perhaps, the occasional phone number) but nothing particularly scandalous. Noa did seem to suggest (if not state directly) that he felt she was two-timing him with Combs (he basically put out a timeline where things overlapped) but in any case, this is not 2003 where people might have been interested. Nobody cares.
  2. And trying to “out” celebrities as having attended a party thrown by Diddy, you gotta love the misspellings of names (Robert Dinero? Who’s that?). Combs is clearly a sleaze but I doubt every social event that he hosted was a “freak off”. I twice attended brunch at Justin’s, the restaurant named after one of his sons. There were no orgies or drug fueled bacchanalia going on when I was there.
  3. Recently, I heard a radio show, where the host lives in Florida and spoke of his experience voting for the first time since migrating to the U.S. He said he voted Democrats down the line. He said any candidate that had “D” by their name, he voted for them…he doesn’t care what anyone said, what words came out of their mouths, he was voting Democrat. 😂
  4. Seems as though her 1st husband is only too eager to throw her under the bus. Yikes! https://www.vibe.com/news/entertainment/jennifer-lopez-ex-husband-involved-diddy-freak-off-parties-1234935577/ When I saw the headline, I knew it would be him.
  5. Everyone associated with TFG eventually lands there. https://www.reuters.com/legal/elon-musk-ordered-attend-1-million-voter-lottery-suit-hearing-philadelphia-cnbc-2024-10-30/
  6. Having Neto seen an episode, I couldn’t personally compare it to Dallas. The people behind the show’s PR appear to want to cast Landman as an Upstairs/Downstairs where “Roughnecks” meet “Oil Magnates”.
  7. Absolutely, although I live in a reliably blue state.
  8. Much like the ratio of relatively fresh faces to veterans in front of the cameras, how I wish that consideration had been made and applied to crew on the production side.
  9. Where I live has a sizable Puerto Rican population and the MSG rally comment is still getting a LOT of attention.
  10. It’s still infuriating, to say the least.
  11. Once again, women’s voices are being dismissed in the media, down to the very end. And we’re only the ones who are voting in higher numbers. Please don’t dismiss VP Harris’ words to disqualify Trump but lend a hand to his voters. She’s the one running, can we remember that? Also, can we remember which presidential candidates once threw paper towels at Puerto Ricans in the middle of a crisis which was costing lives? Which candidate wanted to trade Puerto Rico for Greenland? Can people try to keep perspective for a few days? This is not entirely about media, actual people and their chaotic attention spans bear some responsibility for the fact that so many are so ill informed at this late stage.
  12. Have people seen this? It’s being described as a story of business and romantic clashes. And yes, it is causing some to make comparisons to a certain primetime soap opera set in the world of big oil. Demi Moore stars alongside Jon Hamm and Billy Bob Thornton. Okay, I just came across the first trailer, and I might as well post it as well.
  13. Mr. Mom was one of those movies that, when it happened to air on cable, had to be consumed and enjoyed…like comfort food. Not too long ago, we lost Martin Mull, now Teri Garr. R.I.P.
  14. A Latino Democratic operative raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to be able to send a text blast of Hinchcliffe insulting PR to every registered voter with a mobile phone who identifies as Puerto Rican in the state of Pennsylvania.
  15. Even The Hill, a media blog that I normally have very little use for, is stating that the Trump campaign is struggling to contain the crisis they’ve created from the MSG rally. Also, I won’t post it, but has anyone seen the latest cover from the German publication Stern? Just whoa.
  16. This seems fun. And smart.
  17. Today was pretty exhausting. Had to tell someone “I don’t know what your problem is, but please leave me out of it”. It’s like, I had to put someone on “Ignore” IRL. I have a project I am working on but unfortunately, people don’t respect boundaries and now I have to ‘draw a line in the sand’ and end my association with them. All on a Monday. Sigh.
  18. You’re welcome. I appreciate PBS Newshour’s coverage of aspects that can often get overlooked by mainstream media. Thanks for post that graphic as I know people’s eyes will gravitate more easily to that than to my post. I briefly considered trying to embed but I don’t really bother with “X” these days,if I can help it. I meant to direct the second part of my message to @Vee. Man, I am tired today!
  19. Woodward and Bernstein also issued a joint statement declaring their disappointment with WaPo’s decision. 200,000 subscribers have terminated their digital subscriptions for WaPo. Very important perspective presented in this video. Really important to keep in mind, especially in times like these.
  20. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/bad-bunny-jennifer-lopez-ricky-martin-kamala-harris-puerto-rico-insults-trump-rally-1236046350/
  21. I know that television is often referred to a the “great wasteland” but the newspaper business, at least for the moment, appears to have taken a nosedive off a cliff into a sea of rubble.
  22. Even though I don’t watch daytime soaps anymore (hopefully this changes early next year), I would nominate Jill Foster Abbott. I am continually disappointed and shocked that a character who has been on the canvas since the earliest days of the Young and the Restless, who is portrayed by such a capable actress as Jess Walton has so little impact. And this was the case years before she moved to Oregon. The show often gave her B-level storylines for years before she decided to move. I have often posted that Jill should have not only been a major titan, on par with the likes of Victor Newman and Jack Abbott, she should also get the types of prominent storylines that they often get. The show has never thought to sideline Victor Newman but does so repeatedly to a character that outranks him in seniority.
  23. Honestly, I have heard nothing about George Lopez. I honestly had no idea what it is you are talking about. Maybe because I live in the NYC tri-state area, it’s all over the news. AOC is upset about it and has a huge platform, she already has a discussion with Tim Walz posted on her YouTube channel. Lest we forget, Puerto Ricans don’t only live in the NYC metropolitan area. There has been an influx of migration from the island to Florida and Pennsylvania, and other states…if the Trump campaign weren’t panicked about this they wouldn’t be doing backflips to try to dissociate themselves from this comedian.
  24. Yeah, I won’t respond either, except to say that as a writer, you are dooming your own work to failure if you focus on who isn’t going to like what you have written or created. That is a guaranteed recipe for failure. Monti Sharp (or his agent) is someone BTG casting should be on the phone with, for sure. On a side note, I’m not sure why trolls come for me first but I learned my lesson from the Cancelled Soaps thread. Do not engage. Maybe I need some repellent or something.
