  1. On B&B that hardly qualifies as a scandal anymore....
  2. It's that time of the year again..... 🎆🎉
  3. Why would anyone want their own version of the world's most annoying, whining, self-pitying character?
  4. You're right. That could be a fascinating story. Perhaps a bit too controversial....and honestly, do you think Brad Bell would be able to tell a story like that? I seriously doubt that.
  5. However much people might want to reverse Ridge's paternity that is not possible. Rick was involved with both Phoebe and Steffy and we also had Ridge and Bridget developing feelings for each other (thankfully that got cut very short), and undoing Ridge's paternity would have disastrous consequences with these stories in mind.....
  6. A true grand old man of Swedish show business, Per Myrberg, passed away a few days ago at the age of 90. A really versatile performer, he was part of the ensemble at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm since the late 1950s, where he starred in plays by Shakespeare, Brecht and Strindberg. But he also had success with more light entertainment. He played Molokov in the first Swedish production of "Chess" in 2002, was the voice of Sebastian in the Swedish version of "The Little Mermaid", and had a monster hit here in 1964 with a Swedish version of "This Ole House"....
  7. Thorsten Kaye's Ridge would look more at home at Spectra Fashions, not Forrester Creations.
  8. I can't believe it's been 30 years already since the plane crash! Of course I didn't see it until roughly 1996, since we were a few years behind at the time. I have mixed feelings about the whole storyline. Yes, it was successful, and well done, but it changed Emmerdale forever and the show has tried over and over again to replicate that success, with varying results. As for Kathy returning....what would be the point? Don't get me wrong, I loved Kathy when she was around, but she's been gone for over 20 years, and the village is not what it was when she lived there. Practically everyone she interacted with are gone, the only real exception being Kim. And I wouldn't trust the current writers to know what to do with her. I would rather have her memory intact than watching her get destroyed, which she undoubtedly would be. And then there's obviously the issue of Malandra Burrows' health. She was battling breast cancer last I heard. Hopefully she's on the road to recovery, but I haven't been able to find any news about that.
  9. Shocker for ITV soaps at Christmas Coronation Street drops out of Christmas TV top 10
  10. Wow, not a good Christmas for the ITV soaps. Less than 2 million watched Emmerdale. I can't say that it's not well-deserved, but still..... Coronation Street drops out of Christmas TV top 10
  11. After almost 40 years, this song finally became the Christmas #1 in the UK.
  12. ^^ The old Emmerdale farm house!
  13. You're right. We're probably never gonna see eye to eye on this, so it's meaningless going around in circles. One thing we do agree on however is the quality (or lack thereof) in the writing for this show.
  14. I think that's exaggerating a bit. As for the letter, I believe that Caroline found out about that and read the letter before she married Thorne, didn't she? So, even though what Brooke did was despicable, no argument there, Caroline had the facts and still went ahead and married Thorne. It may have been stupid, but the re-write still happened and is part of the show's history. I do agree with you that Macy probably was trying to kill both herself and Brooke, but that doesn't change the fact that they both survived and Macy died years later. If she did die.... we don't know that for sure since it happened off screen.
  15. I'm not saying that Brooke hasn't done a lot of horrible things, but she's the only one who constantly gets dragged through the mud for these things. Some of which happened decades ago. And just to clarify things, she did not drive Macy to kill herself. They were in a car accident, provoked by Brooke's actions yes, but Macy didn't die.... Macy died years later off screen, after she had been hit by a chandelier. And what's also funny is how Brooke is the one who gets all the blame for the things you mentioned. I would think that the men ought to shoulder some of the blame. And I stand by my opinion that people like Stephanie and Taylor get off way to easy. Especially Taylor. Brooke may have done some morally questionable things to say the least, but Taylor has repeatedly broken the law. She was driving drunk when she hit Darla with her car, she looked at Brooke's medical records without permission and revealed her pregnancy, and then she shot Bill.
  16. I'm not talking about the Bible scene. I'm talking in general. Brooke is constantly called names (HO-gan for instance) and her past is always dragged up, whereas other characters are allowed to move on from their past.
  17. Thank you! I find it interesting how Brooke is so reviled while other characters, who have done far worse than she has, receive nowhere near the same level of criticism. What does that say about people's views on sexuality vs violence for instance? Stephanie used to bully, beat and belittle anyone who dared to oppose her, and she put her whole family through agony when she went as far as faking a heart-attack just to get her own way. And Taylor shot an unarmed man from behind in cold blood. That is way worse than anything Brooke has ever done.
  18. Time for a tradition. Every year, the day before Christmas Eve, I always watch
  19. Give me a break! The woman is hardly the Anti-Christ!
