The poster is making claims that nobody seems to be able to verify. I've spoken to fans who did watch in the 70s and I've read actual projections. I'm trying to figure out where @j swift found out Mona was friend with Kitty's mom, Mona thought Erica was Nick's kid, and that Mona was in the cabaret.

In the various projections I've read at Aggie's archive from that era I never read that Mona Kitty's mother. It's also clear that Eric, yes, was in Hollywood. I even have a copy of the projection which detailed Mona and Charles affair. It was written in 1974 or so and Mona was asked by Charles to help with Christmas shopping as Phoebe was too preoccupied with her social life. It was then, in which, they formed an intimate bond. Agnes made it CLEAR that it would play out very innocently and that their would be guilt and such from their feelings.

Phoebe was too preoccupied with her social standing and with keeping up appearances and not caring enough towards her family. She only seemed to care if their actions would be a bad reflection on her. Mona was actually caring and offered unconditional love -- something Phoebe didn't. @DemetriKane I wish you were on these boards before it became the amateur hour.

It's almost been 14 years since Jesse/Angie reunion. How is it more modern to not pit women like them against each other? That isn't what happened.

Anything was better than what they did. They could have shown him tied up after Pam saw Mark killed in her shower and played out what they were going to play out (as much as Katzman was willing). Not sure what the explanation could have been. Had it been totally off the wall they could have toyed with his appearances for 5 episodes or so to keep up the anticipation. Also, that would hook the audience for in the event they came up with one lemon of an idea.

My husband JT swears by that show while I tend to lean towards your liking. That said, it occurred to me once that the show was basically dramatized 'stand-up' and that helped me understand the scene length.
