  1. @Vee I never realized he did that with Viki tbh. I toyed with writing fan fic in wwhich the fact that many cases of DID are (unintentionally) created after hypnotic therapy is highlighted. Families have been destroyed from the period where that was practiced as it implanted false memory. Viki learns about a case and starts doubting her past therapy. I kinda like to believe that Dorian orchestrated the 1995 story as the ultimate revenge but it seems to rocky. Vee, for the record, I don't do much write from character as much as I write from theme (eg, all is fair in love/war). I write from purpose and I write to make a point. I have the bible from Restless, AMC, Love is a Many Splendored Thing (Irna did an AMAZING JOB), LOVING, AW, ATWT... Ma Perkins and a few other radio soaps. I also have Agnes' audition assignment for that show (and her audition scripts). Point is that all soaps have the theme/purpose I'm talking about. When I come up with fan fic I incorporate it. Restless was that: we all have the desire to surrender ourselves, physically and emotionally, to another person and we all have the desire to take someone for that purpose. Restless did that with EACH story until LML. . PM me and well send you stuff
  2. I'm lost about the Ron retcon with Viki you referenced. What was that?
  3. Ron's gayness is a factor to me as, despite that about himself, he is highly offensive in regards to LGBT on the show. An openly out and proud man shouldn't be having the devil possess a man and having the man experience homosexual behaviour. It sends this message: gays are evil. Ron is the reason why the idiotic notion of a 'gay agenda' exists. Then he again, he was an attorney and his court stories suck.
  4. https://www.radioechoes.com/?page=genre Here, you can go to 'Soap Opera'. I would also use the search function for specific shows.
  5. What was the 'old soaps channel'?
  6. Gawd! I had know idea that the guys who did that terrible year of ATWT (and the Playboy soap) were on this show.
  7. What was Dynasty's roots though? I have watched the first 3 seasons but not sure if you can count Season 1 or 2. Granted, I didn't watch the show when it went to hell.
  8. I didn't realize they were so dependent on him to drive story. I would have just pulled something from The Godfather, to be honest, and have a very SLOW fall into decent. I kinda feel that Chad would have worked like that. Someone who could want to legitimize the family but winds up getting sucked into the corruption. or I would have started out with a new character who is a bit neurotic at first, create a beef between that person and someone else who who is core, and just slowly build outward. Test the chemistry and allow that to shape the writing. or I would just move on and accept that, well, a NEW Stefano isn't worth it.
  9. I thought it was in reverse?
  10. Is it around the line at 1:14:00? I hate watching this as it's giving me cancer.
  11. I have not been watching. What is this Sarah/Renee story?
  12. Can you PLEASE send me the link.
  13. I also hate that Corday keeps saying that the opening voiceover is taken from the Christian Bible from the book of Pslams. Evidently, it's from a quote by Jeremy Taylor (and fairly explicitly). I do find that a symptom of the problem, though, to be honest.
  14. The bible for the show is interesting as the theme is basically that true fulfillment is something you need to work very hard for and not something that can be 'quick'. With Tom and Alice being the characters who understand that and help guide the characters to that idea. It's also basically stated that the sands of the hour glass are running out and we shouldn't live for tomorrow or for yesterday and seize the moment. I really don't see that happening anywhere to be honest. When was the last time that was even true for the show? I see it from watching the mid-80s stuff with the three prisms storyline. I can see it during the period Carly was berried alive. Sammy popping Marlena into the sanitarium essentially reinforces it as well.
  15. The thing that irritates me the most is how much freedom Ron seems to have. The fact that there are, it seems, multiple gays on the show and they are actually allowed to teach each others pecs and be playful with innuendoes. I'd kill for Restless to be able to do that.
  16. I recently read parts of the "Rags" bible and, please, nobody hound over it. I'm curious if this happened: So, in it, Stephanie is sexually frustrated and her daughter, Kristen, is frigid. Kristen starts seeing a man who wants to be with her sexually. They are at the pool and she refuses his advances and then runs to her room and sobs. Stephanie, who is sex starved, was watching and offers to be used by him when he is needing to, well, have sex with Kristen -- she encourages the relationship between the two SO she can be with this guy. I do know Stephen wasn't on the show in the beginning but he is critical to the initial story-line. Bell originally wanted Ridge/Caroline for the first 3 weeks or so and then write her (and the entire family) out after the wedding is called out. The Logan's were very prominent and Stephen/Eric was going to have a Rich Dad/Poor Dad feel. Stephen wasn't a deadbeat but he was a man who, though reeking with ambition, had many failed businesses. Beth's catering service she worked for, though, was the bread and butter of the family (so to speak). However, Bill Bell makes it VERY clear that Stephanie IS NOT worthy of Eric and Stephen IS NOT worthy of Beth and for Eric/Beth to be end game. Brooke is called Jessica. Forrester, the last name, is Chandler. Beth's mom was supposed to be on and serve as a Nancy Hughes of sorts. He GREATLY emphasized on needing a LOT of senior-citizen story lines. And Forrester Creations is called Ingenue Designs. I'm sure I know the answer to this and I feel like an idiot for asking. Was there some mentioning on the show of Thorn being gay? It's stated that other characters think he is as he showed very little, if any, interest in women. And that a rumor was going to start in which everyone feels it's fact.
  17. Neither. They can't cast that book right (I assume you read it, right) or write it correctly. Hemingway was similar to Bill Bell in that sexuality played a critical role. They'd need to cast someone who was an absolutely KNOCKOUT like Brenda Epperson circa 1988 or Nina Arvesen from around that time as well.
  18. Lady Ashley like Sun Also Rises? (Which I can't picture)
  19. You are both welcome. khan has me on ignore so can either of you tag him so he can read my post? I think he'd be interested in the images of the bible I posted.
  20. I feel it was a good message for DAYS to have Marlena forgive Sam. After all, life is too short to hold grudges and I feel that resonated with the show's central theme. Further, it led to Sam's redemption. I think a lot of people were encouraged to forgive after that. Also, the way Marlena's mind evolved during her medical training permitted a sense of empathy AND ability to separate Sam the patient in need of help and Sam her sister. I'm sure the memory of how Sam was before, assuming they got along, helped thr forgiveness. That's also a good at to stigmatized the field -- having Marlena forgive her. I have the bible for the show and the original idea for Julie is a trip. Irna was going to have her get preggers to get her parents attention. They were going to try to convince Tom to recommend an Abortionist and then he was going to rip them a new one for making Julie to have to go to great leangts. Also, she was going to have a minister's son take the blame so she could live with him and his family so their Christian ways would show her the light and cure her.
  21. Does anyone like me? Lol
