  1. I don’t recognize anyone from a soap. I’ve seen the blonde woman in the V-8 ad in a lot of other commercials. I think the man in the first commercial was Will Rogers, Jr.
  2. I believe it is Tudi.
  3. The Sarah recast has arrived. I think she's much better than the first one. Sarah now wants to go to law school. The actress, Dorothy Fielding, resembles young Meredith Baxter.
  4. I cannot stand Ricky and I feel like a terrible person for feeling that way. He's not engaging at all. We definitely have been spoiled with the other child actors. And there's young Jonathan Frakes, whom I'm supposed to hate, looking as cute as a puppy, lol.
  5. I’m glad you liked the article Amanda. I asked some people on FB (a group of fans of classic soaps) whether anyone saw you on Love of Life. One man did remember seeing you when he watched with his mother. He thought that your character’s catchphrase was “suit yourself.” He sent his regards and is going to tell his mother, who will be pleased to be reminded of you. Another said this: I really liked her. Lynn Nelson was Tammy's illegitimate daughter who at first tried to corrupt Tammy's stepdaughter Sandy. Linc Porter disliked Lynn until she got the goods on a crime syndicate infiltrating the Carlson Paper Company. Linc died and Lynn married Henry Carlson's respectable nephew Jeff.
  6. Christopher Pennock posted this on his FB page: Villagers...please keep actor John Karlen in your spiritual practices...he has had a stroke and is in intensive care at St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank. He has lost his speech and movement on his left side..2 surgeries have helped..I love this guy and I am devastated...om mani padme hung x trillions.
  7. Some reliable sources are saying that John Karlen had a stroke last Sunday, and is in intensive care.
  8. @Musical Soap Lady @slick jones
  9. Hi @Musical Soap Lady. I found this on newspapers.com, from The Detroit Free Press. Some folks in the Love of Life thread might remember you. I didn’t start watching LoL until the 70s, unfortunately. Would love to hear your remembrances.
  10. Love the ad @Paul Raven. I wish we could see that time period.
  11. I don't know why tptb wanted to break them up, but in the story, Don blamed Marlena for DJ's death, and then he had an affair with Liz, which caused the divorce.
  12. My Twitter feed has been showing me random "likes" and it showed that Ali Sweeney "liked" this one, lol.
  13. I agree re Victoria Thompson being the substitute Lorie. Thanks for sharing these. Love seeing the Brooks sisters all together.
  14. Trailer for upcoming documentary on Dan Curtis and Dark Shadows.
  15. I was thinking that Stephen Schnetzer still looks handsome even with that bushy beard.
  16. @DRW50 Brian was around near the end anyway. I think Keith Charles had taken on the role by then.
  17. Yeah, the paternity wasn’t changed. I’m not sure that Amy even learned that Brian (the doctor) was the father. I know at one point only Brian and his sister, Danielle, knew the truth about that. I think the baby was also named Danielle. Kevin had left Amy, thinking she had cheated on him, if I’m remembering correctly. Though that seems crazy to me now that she wouldn’t tell him that she had been inseminated instead of letting him think she cheated on him. Kevin had surgery in England, and in the last episode, was waiting on Amy, sitting in a regular chair. He got up to walk across the room to her, then fell in her arms. Hopefully someone else remembers and can correct me if I’m wrong.
  18. Yes, Amy was artificially inseminated when Kevin was paralyzed, and somehow without his knowledge (though I can’t remember how that part played out). Her gynecologist supplied the sperm, unknown to Amy. Jeffrey Pomerantz played the doctor.
  19. Well, that one doesn't work for me anymore either. Here's another one. https://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/tv-and-radio/actor-carmen-duncan-76-dies-of-cancer-20190203-p50vfc.html
  20. Carmen Duncan has died. https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/entertainment/sydney-confidential/australian-actor-carmen-duncan-dies-after-cancer-battle-aged-76/news-story/5f4430200e9798c208432ed93cb14536?utm_medium=Twitter&utm_content=SocialFlow&utm_source=DailyTelegraph&utm_campaign=EditorialSF
  21. I think Alex was actually shot in 1981 despite the caption on the promo.
  22. I want Carolee to go off on all the adults she knew previously, and to make new friends. None of them showed any real concern about her disappearing.
  23. There used to be civilians wandering around the hospital in the earlier episodes we’ve seen. Plus, patients going in and out of the clinic. I love the background players, especially Big Joe and Nurse Wheeler (who used to side-eye everybody). Lately, I’ve been enjoying Nurse Ursula (Mercedes Ruehl), who seems to disapprove of the gatherings in front of her desk.
