  1. Personally, I liked the actress that replaces Julianne Moore as Frannie much better then Moore... so hang tight for that.. I think that's in 1989 I believe.
  2. Reading your re-watch of season 11... this season really shows the contempt the show--runners had for Val. You'd think after the whole Jill episode, she would want to enjoy being single and have fun with friends and casual dating for awhile before getting sucked back into a relationship. Also, having Val isolated from the other characters in season 11 is sad... but at the same time, how could Val be included in a realistic way with the other characters especially outside of the cul de sac grouping? She wasn't involved with Lotus Point nor with Sumner Group.. and most of the new characters coming in weren't moving into the cul de sac (other then the Williams clan). I think by the 10th and 11th season.. it was like two different shows (the Sumner Group and cul de sac crowd).. and with Abby/Laura gone.. you lost two key bridges that could have tied the shows together.. since Paige really didn't have a lot of interaction with the rest of the cul de sac group despite living there for a couple of seasons.
  3. I can understand Tinsley being a little gleeful about Luann's arrest and such... cause Countess Luann has always been a judgmental elitist snob especially when she was married to the Count. So I imagine she had a few things to say about Tinsley's less than stellar history... and now that Karma has dealt with Luann... I would be like Tinsley and be a little gleeful about it.
  4. Why invest in a new cast photo when there aren't any new cast members. A great way to save money
  5. Given everything that Beth had gone through...her with an alter made sense..problem was that the show didn't execute it correctly. I will say at least the character of Beth finally got therapy even if off screen...and in the final year or so..b3came more like the Beth of old. With that said, I laughed at the show when Beth said L izzie (as played by marcy r) reminded her of her...when L izzie was the spitting image in looks, mannerisms, and personality to Krista T's Mindy. See 1983 Mindy and compare her to Lizzie in the late 2000s. Both could pass as mother and daughter....more so then Beth and Lizzie.
  6. I think DJ and Steve had to happen..but if rather show that they two realize both have changed and they can't go back. Of course, I think I'd rather habe had the three leads be single much longer beforw putting them in relationships. We hardly had time to see them single beforw they were coupled up. The original.had all three men s8ngle for the first season before the coupling began. Glad the show bought Vicky back..it is shake they didn't marry in the original since she got in so well.
  7. Takes money and patiences...which networks don't have anymore.
  8. Kyle would be exhausting to have as a friend...too needy and draining. With that said, if I was ever on a show like this..id be more like a kim cattrall...these are co workers that you can have fun with..but they aren't friends..co workers
  9. Susan has some good stuff coming up in the late 80s into the mid to late 90s. You will not be disappointed...and it might answer any brief references/tensions between her and kim...and her and Lucinda. You will not be disappointed, but Susan in the late 60s and all of the 70s was her at her peak (I w asnt born yet).
  10. Rico bellini...nick bellini's nephew....a shame the character didn't get reintroduced when Nick was on the show. Althea was obsessed with Nick hence why most of her relationships don't work out..even though he was an abusive SOB. I don't get why they were popular back in the day as a couple.
  11. Marlo and booze do not mix. If you see Marlo drinking, turn around and walk away. Porsha and insanity seem to go hand in hand. In a normal work environment, she would have been fired already. I agree that they should only do a 13 to 14 episode season with a nice mix of individual plus group moments, plus a 2 part reunion and a lost scenes episode like in the old days.
  12. Also, Tamra/Vicki went to Mexico on a vacation.. and Shannon is meeting them there after her vacation with her three daughters... and they are going to Andales!!!
  13. Do the people that run HULU live under a rock? serialized shows do better on platforms like Netflix/Hulu because of the binging potential. DVD sales for serialized/soap type shows were higher then for procedurals as well.
  14. I think they got boring couple because the story was cut short by Cast's exist so the writers weren't able to fully develop and flesh it out. If I recall.. this story was based on a 'A Star is Born' where she's aspiring to be famous and meets someone famous... they fall in love.. he helps her develop her talent and confidence.. then she ends up more famous then him.. and then they break up. I do think that the part of the story that cut off was her finding her first born since the book was all about that (with flashbacks to Rose and her losing her first born).. then Nina was written off due to the actress leaving. Plus, Nina was support in the Tricia/Vicky/Ryan story.. with Nina being the first one to discover Tricia wasn't dealing with a full deck and warning Victoria and Ryan before leaving the show. I was in college during this time.. and all of us (men and women) liked Nina and were bummed that she was leaving... she was the everywoman character.
  15. I liked how they introduced MJ... and I'm glad the relationship between Carolee and her was answered right away. MJ isn't related to Carolee except through marriage and I loved that there was a reference to how young MJ reminded Carolee of herself several years ago. Lastly, I liked that Carolee got to display some whimsical humor. At least the Pollock's knew to keep some of the sarcastic edge to Carolee... I'll be curious how Depriest saps the character of that last strand of the old Caroleee.
  16. 1998 to 2001.. the Kay Alden era... she took what Bill Bell did and updated it by quickening the pace yet still hitting all the beats. Plus, she started interacting the characters outside their story bubbles unlike Bill Bell.
  17. Bringing Mona back helped make the show less about the Doctors/nurses long term. She was a one note character..imho.
  18. Anyone would be a notch above Andy... all outer looks and nothing inside.
  19. I liked today's set of episodes.. where Penny and Mike came face to face. Both bonded over having difficult relationships with their parents.. and you could see a kinship there. I think the Pollocks were pretty good.. but I do agree they did like to drag out a story.. but soaps in the 70s generally did drag out stories with huge payoffs. We all have to remember what we are watching is from the 70s, not 2010s. After seeing Andy/Stacy in their brief scene... I'm rooting for Penny to break them up... is that bad? LOL
  20. Is it possible that Cendella is listed because he wrote the episode for the day? I also wonder if the show was auditioning replacements hence why you have him, Deborah Sherwood, and Lanie Bertram credited? I knew Depriest didn't follow the Pollacks right away because I think she was on LOL during this time.. so it will be interesting to see what stories Cendella uses and what Depriest/Marland add.
  21. I was surprised that Kristen/Brandi were such long time friends because the two were as different as night and day until I realized that Kristen married and lived on the East coast with her husband... plus her young daughter had medical issues.. and I think all of that has to change someone. Plus, it was the one time that I thought Brandi was likable because she was with someone that loved and accepted her for her long before either one of them got into the Bravo cameras. Jules kind of fascinated me because she marched to the beat of a different drummer, but I think given what was going on with her in her personal life.. it was best she didn't come back for another season. Still, Carole and Bethenny's bewildered expressions were priceless (I had read an article about how Eileen would give the same bewildered looks whenever she and Kim Richards filmed together during Eileen's debut season on RHOBH.. shame none of that filmed material ever was shown.) Cindy... no comment. In regards to RHOBH, Rinna the last few episodes is the Rinna I remember in her own reality show she had years ago.. and reminded me of the Rinna we saw in the first half of season 5 before Kim's limo meltdown. Kyle and LVP will never truly be close friends like they were back in season 1 and 2. While LVP is no angel, I still say Kyle isn't all that innocent and in some respects I think she is more lethal then LVP. Anytime I've seen Kyle pose for photos.. she gives off this superior look and has this evil smirk whenever the cameras pan to her when the other women are speaking. She's a wolf disguised in sheep's clothing... and given her circle of friends, it says who she is as a person (LVP also has a sketchy crowd of close friends as well.).
  22. I agree.. I think if Carole or Bethenny stopped being on the RHONY show.. the friendship would go away... while Heather/Carole seem to still be friends. Plus, Heather/Carole seemed less mean girls while Carole/Bethenny answer where Regina George would look and act like once she hit over 40. To me... if I hung out with Bethenny.. I'd be exhausted after an hour ( I kind of feel for her ex husband even though he wasn't a saint because she's so draining to be around). Heather.. I could see having fun with and not be exhausting. But if it's a choice between Tinsley and Heather... no contest.. Heather! Tinsley has this vacant look in her face like the light is on upstairs but no one is home.
  23. Heather and Bethenny had an interesting dynamic. Once Heather realized Bethenny didn't like her, she moved on..then Bethenny whined that Heather w asnt trying to be down to her. They were alike yet different. Bethenny was funnier then Heather...but Heather was warmer then Bethenny
  24. So how long does dippy Stacy last for?
  25. Her Penny came back in January 1973 and left in October/November 1974 after she was proven innocent of murder.. and after she had an emotional charge showdown with Althea. She caused quite a bit of trouble for Althea, Nick, Ann, Toni, Mike, and her step father John during that time period. She just recently returned in the April/May 1975 episodes announcing she wants to start college and become a doctor.. not because she cares about saving lives but to be better at it then Althea... plus is obsessed with that singer Andy. I'll be curious to see what other mischief she gets into in this stint.
