  1. Maybe Mary was right that people are afraid of Jen..except Mary that is. I'm looking forward to season 2..and Mary leaving her closet.
  2. Locher is the wrong person to host such a discussion. He's so awkward.
  3. Dallas: If I were advising Brandi on how to interact with Tiffany...I would talk about her children since both of them have daughters. Maybe set up a playdate with her twins and her youngest daughter. And just ask her questions about her life....you know...show an active interest. So Kary's month long b day celebration reminds me of Leeanne 's multi day wedding adventure. 2 peas in a pod
  4. She was more entertaining in her closet than Jen shah was all season. Less is more
  5. I always loved the Nancy/Lisa vibe...my favorite scenes was after Eduardo died..and there was broken glass all over her apartment. Nancy came over, cleaned up the mess and wouldn't leave like anyone else...and the two had a heart to heart about grief. I don't think the bond was shown much at all after Sheffer came in..imho
  6. I've love to see the Claudette character...at least when she came back in 1977...to see her mixing it up as a vixen up
  7. For me, most of the CBS soaps with the exception of GL.
  8. The two loves of Greg's life. But had Laura not passed, I don't think he would have looked in Paige's direction...and I think Paige knew that deep down. And it made sense she finally left him at the start of the reunion movie because of this and other reasons.
  9. Punky Brewster was also scheduled on Sunday nights.. usually against the popular CBS shows. In fact, anytime baseball and/or any sports would run over... the show would air a 10 to 15 minute episode so that the younger viewers wouldnt be deprived of a new episode.. nor come in mid-way through it. The revivial was way better than the new Saved by the Bell. It was cute, charming, and finally resolved the one plot thread from the original. It was a good final episode of the season (and I'm hoping to see more follow up on this if there is a season 2.).
  10. I'd read a rumor that Marjorie would have been killed off..and her sister would have come with an axe against the Herpers..with help from Wesley and Racine.
  11. I think Nina could have carried on as a character separate from Cliff. Anytime I watched her in scenes in 1986 to 1989 with others..she was so likable and contributed a lot. Plus, with all the dramas with the Corlandt's in the 90s..she would have had a reason to visit more often. Vintage AMC has been good with uploading episodes from the late 80s...and by 1987..the cast was pretty bloated..yet it fit with the show because AMC was always about community.
  12. Has Nia Long talked about her GL days much? Only time I saw her speak of it, she said she enjoyed the work..but wondered how she was supposed to leave in the city with the lower pay she got from doing the show.
  13. I would have had Margaret in over Melissa. Salt Lake City Meredith Marks seems almost too logical to be a housewife. She should host over Andy.
  14. Depriest did some things that carried over for years afterward. Jack/Erica (after 1.5 years of him doing nothing..and after she had that Steven con person story) Tad/Dixie (had hilary not left...he and Hilary would have done the tortured love thing and he was stuck with Barbara before Depriest took over) Cliff/Nina/Angie ( shame it didn't last...both women were likable and neither went crazy to make the other look good). Cecily/Nico had some good stuff. Emily Ann/Donna stuff started up during this era. I do question breaking up Jeremy and Natalie..while Jeremy and Skye made no sense (which Nixon ended when she took over). Julie got to know her aunt Erica (erica loved her, but was jealous of her. Why didn't the show just recast Julie instead of creating Kendall?).
  15. Problem is that the franchise is so rehearsed, so devoid of actual reality. It's why some viewers got a kick out of Meredith Marks because she acted like a rational person. Disengaging when conversations became unproductive, walking away, and even trying to be peacemaker at the reunion between Heather and Lisa. I think Meredith should moderate a reunion...she can't be any worse than Andy lol
  16. 1980 seemed a year of transition for the show...and it was a pretty interesting year as you saw the transition. I do think Marland dropped the ball a bit with the Philip paternity story with writing off Elizabeth and killing off Jackie during his tenure. Oddly I think Pam Long's take worked because she shifted the pov from the parents to Philip. He explaining to Mindy about those years..and his confusion over how they acted. How Elizabeth leaving hurt, how he missed Jackie, how he didn't get along with Justin and how Alan seemed almost obsessive. I do recall after that scene, Mindy and Justin had a scene..and she knew Justin was hiding something and I assume she figured it out and didn't tell Phillip. And Philip realizing that everyone knew except Beth was so sad to see. Knowing all this explained Philip's actions in the coming years. His need for control (since he had no control in his formative years), his need to protect Beth (since no one protected him), and his cynical attitude because his identity was always in question.
  17. Stephanie without Brandi would be interesting to see. So let's see how she does on her own. Dallas needs a better villainess than Kary. Or how about this...no villainess?
  18. Alan mostly was quiet and just looked pretty while the Edge Angel's took center stage. Fun tidbit about Terry opting not to audition for Charlie's Angels. Terry seems warm and sentimental, Sharon (Rosie) seems a fun spitfire with a bottomless well of warmth and humor, while Frances is a dry witted, cynical, yet funny, person. It's nice to see all of them are still friends 40+ years later. And it was a fun interview
  19. 3 pages to catch up on after my 5 day power outage adventures. Salt lake city Lisa vs Heather is everyone I was hoping it would be after the 1st episode where Lisa didn't remember Heather in school..but heard she was a good time girl. I'd been waiting for the match up. So far..evenly matched. Also, I was wondering what Lisa would be like in a conflict..and we got a taste at Sharif's party. I'm wondering if Lisa is a true blue friend wrapped in Ice...while Heather is a cold hearted witch wrapped in awkward cuddly cotton candy. Hmmm
  20. Lots of early Erica and Dimitri...and Adam/Erica. Also the aftermath of Janet Greens year long reign of terror. Lastly the start of Gloria and Stuart. I'd forgotten that Gloria was a nurse to Dimitri's than wife Angelique. He was giving her a chance during a low time in her life. Which helps explain her brief marriage and devotion to him in late 1997/early 1998.
  21. I think killing Jennifer was some poetic way to cap off a tragic character. Ferrin was quite effective at playing that, but she also could have played the *itch also. I would have had Jennifer, Dusty and the baby leave town to start anew when Ferrin opted to leave. And I think it is realistic having Jennifer's half sister out there and never be on the show. I have a cousin out there from an affair my uncle had back in the early 70s...no idea where the cousin is. Though both of my cousins did try to find them with no luck. Maybe Jennifer could have tried to find her after it came out everyone had lost track of Darryl. And she never finding her half sister.
  22. This was epic when it came out when I was in high school. And it holds up 20+ years later
  23. No Tinsley and co. I want newbies..fresh blood. I would deep six Jen because she's uncomfortable to watch..and I'm not talking about her filler in her face.
  24. Wasn't Daryl an old boyfriend of Margo's from high school? I'm surprised that more wasn't made of that if true. Dana was hilarious..especially when she was taken hostage and caused her captor grief with her hysterics. And I recall she gave Margo a weird hair style with Margo saying to Frannie 'you owe me' lol
  25. I think the 1988 writer strike is what KDP meant when she said Blake took her spot with Philip, etc. Up till the April 1988 episodes, Chelsea and Phillip were a couple..but you could see the cracks in their relationship. During the strike (with no outlines provided by Long)...they broke up..Blake was paired with Philip (after she was tested with Johnny) while Chelsea ended up with Johnny. I do think Beth's back from the dead story would have been different if Philip was with Chelsea instead of Blake. There was one brief scene when Chelsea met Beth...and it was a brief scene..but how Kassie played it was effective. Sometimes non verbal ques are more powerful. With that said, when she left in early 1991..she was excited about her music dreams coming true. I could have seen her come back years later hardened by her dreams not coming true. But I do think Pam Long provided Chelsea with some good scenes and one strong story ( The Rae story). Did Kassie opt to leave or was she let go? I could have seen Chelsea fitting into the Curlee era as much as she did in the Long era
