  1. The show is basically monologue, monologue, stall stall stall, with all the major beats always played offcamera. No characterization that is consistent (my favorite was Jay being hostile to disabled people for a day), and lots and lots of the black holes known as Lauren and Whitney. The characters are generally unpleasant and the tone of the show is often very regressive and bigoted. It's watchable, but that's about it.
  2. @SFK here's a bit of Marj Dusay.
  3. The media won't let Pence go, and neither will most of the GOP. They can hide behind him. He's the type of Republican the media would sell their children for, and he is the perfect blank face (who hates the right people) to hide extremism.
  4. That was a great promo. These promos are very effective - I like that they are going for a stripped-back feeling and not trying to sell eccentricity or nostalgia. At first I thought that was Sheryl Lee on the phone but I'm not sure she'd have that type of bikini body. Is it Amanda Seyfried? I wonder if that shot of Albert and Gordon involves Dale's return from wherever he was.
  5. Comey could have known that last year...yet look how he acted. I can't remember if this was already posted but it's a good read. http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/05/09/the-political-isolation-of-jim-comey-215120
  6. But Bernie appeals to people in the heartland because he talks in the way elites don't! (I should add I do think the elites don't know to handle those voters and I hope someone on the left eventually learns) This is the type of thing that just annoys me. It just IMO comes across as more of the insecurity and refusal to admit to ever not being right about something that colors this administration. John Oliver's reach is obviously limited, given who we have in office, but they can't even say his show likely had something to do with their site going down? Maybe they're right, but... http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2017/05/john-oliver-net-neutrality-kimmel-colbert-late-night-politics-impact In a statement, the F.C.C. said that John Oliver’s call to action did not crash its website—and that, instead, the site crashed because of a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack that happened to begin soon after Oliver’s broadcast.
  7. I'd say beyond Erica it's also based on her work ethic and professionalism. Aside from the SMG stuff you rarely hear anything negative about Susan, any idea that she was some kind of out of control bitch and anything that follows many other soap "divas" of her era.
  8. I think this episode is or was on Youtube. This is the one where Ellen runs into Natalie and Wilma at the Boutique, right? More interviews.
  9. Thanks for all this.
  10. Kookinelli, Gregory and Anderson Cooper all together is like an Orphan Black spinoff gone wrong.
  11. Wow. What a trio...
  12. The sad thing is I can actually believe that. I have no idea who is in charge at this point.
  13. Thanks.
  14. This is great. So you just have to register? Is it safe? I've heard of Spotify but don't really use it.
  15. I really, really, really, really can't stand Joe Scarborough.
  16. I'd be surprised if McConnell would let that happen.
  17. Ugh hate hate hate Nick. Hate hate hate. It took me 4 years to stop hating him and scenes like the above are why. I always forget another actor played Charles Grant for a while. @marceline there are some good Gilly bits in the second clip.
  18. Yikes. I had forgotten POTUS had the power to do that - for some reason I thought they had to stick to the terms. Maybe I thought that because some like Hoover held on so long. I guess it's pretty rare though. Comey has proven to be so compromised I can't be as upset as I possibly should as I can't even begin to guess who he'll pick. I don't even want to know. I hope sandbagging Hillary in the name of image and career was worth it!
  19. Jack Hickey, who played a "young Bravo" in season 5, will be on Emmerdale for a few episodes. http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/emmerdale/news/a827838/emmerdale-spoilers-carly-hope-ex-matt-arrives/
  20. You may want to try looking at archives from newsgroups like RATSC.
