  1. The problem isn't individual members or efforts as much as it's the party as a whole. I think they have mostly coalesced around "Trump sucks," which he does, but I'm not sure what's underneath. It will take time to build, and I think people at a local level will try to build it, but I don't have any real faith in those up top. I'm wary of how much hasn't changed - there's still overemphasis on special elections that are very difficult to win (which means when Democrats inevitably lose, people are crushed and demoralized). There are still purity contests and proxy wars. People are still fighting shadow puppets over Bernie vs Hillary. Democrats in Congress are standing up to Trump, which is a lot better than where they were in W's first years in office, but I'm not sure how much is posturing and how serious it would be if he actually had a bargaining position they would work with. Right now the whole party rests on Trump being loathed and feared. Once that is gone, the house of cards collapses.
  2. Was this as awful onscreen as it is in this clip?
  3. It was Hogan. You could tell because of the stench.
  4. I'm not surprised Chris Cilizza wrote that. I imagine CNN hired him in large part for this purpose. He's very good at reminding us Democrats are losing. With that said, I can believe the poll - I don't believe Democrats are in touch and I don't think they have been in a number of years. They are anti-Trump, which is certainly important, and I think they're trying their hardest to stave off some of his worst, but it's a mirage for the realities underneath. Why in the world was that man with the quavering voice put on television as their spokesperson. I've heard he's a good politician or strategist - he's not good on television.
  5. Great seeing you post again.
  6. I hate this stuff because even when the GOP and Trump are at their most unhinged and aimless we still end up with "Democrats in disarray." I feel like Bernie Sanders just has to be a contrarian and also has a long memory and that's a very bad mix.
  7. I think you had the right idea the first time. I think acting was better back then (although Jack Wagner was as annoying as I remembered), but the writing was still poor. The stories seemed aimless - wasn't this the Thomas/Amber story that was truncated because of Janet Jackson's nipple? (and wasn't he also magically aged to 18 after that controversy) I think they were also going to do some story with Eric and Caitlin that was killed. I can't remember but I think Colleen Dion didn't want to stay around long-term because she had a family and maybe she didn't live on the West Coast? As it turns out given how rarely we see Felicia they may as well have kept her. I'd forgotten Sean Kanan still looked that good in 2004. He'd barely aged from his GH days.
  8. I would say Trump might do it to posture about Russia, but the gay part would make Pence flip his lid...
  9. I thought Joe Barbara was pretty attractive, although the character was annoying (he didn't bother me that much in the last few years).
  10. Oh so this was after that Mowlam guy pushed her into a miscarriage? I saved the clips of the brawl between Matt and Mowlam (on a disc somewhere). I'm not sure if you saw them. Pretty rough stuff compared to most soaps now. Jean Rogers did seem to play a more subdued Dolly. In a way I'm surprised she lasted as long as she did as she never seemed to be a main player during her time in the role. It's too bad that just as she was getting some backbone, standing up to the Tates, it was for Dolly's exit. They should have had her come back to help when Frank was taking away the Sugden farm.
  11. @I Am A Swede you may enjoy this. Someone put it up yesterday.

  14. I didn't catch that last part. Thanks. I liked the scenes in the chambers. The other scenes were decent too but everyone seemed to be on uppers. The skyline looks a bit more like something from the '50s but I guess they didn't have a budget.
  15. Looks like Katy is on this one, as is Bill Mallory.
  16. You probably would enjoy the Todd Grimshaw story on Corrie.
  17. Pretty good article on changing times in France. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/apr/22/france-elections-2017-le-pen-fillon-macron
  18. He left with his BFF Lucy Robinson after they agreed to have a child together.
