  1. I always appreciate your positive attitude about the show as it stops me coming here and ranting, and I had a big rant about today's episode...
  2. I think early on we didn't know but they told us pretty quickly.
  3. David and Alicia were a great pairing but otherwise he's about the same to me. He just needs more people to bounce off of. Pete and Leyla seem to be a default pairing, sadly, and not surprisingly. I wish they'd do something with her. I guess when Moira learns she is pregnant (I still assume this will happen) that will lead to something. I think Luke Tittensor's legal problems cast a cloud over the character.
  4. Tess' complete contempt for Rosanna still fills me with glee 25 years later.
  5. Lauren bores the hell out of me. Mostly just her rolling her eyes as we hear for the 450th time that she's unfulfilled. She feels spent. I do think Tina has really become a special character.
  6. I bought the first season of St. Elsewhere and hoped for more, and then it didn't happen. I know it was sales, but still. Not to go off topic, but you were a big fan of early DAYS, right? And GH? Floy Dean (Laura Horton #1) and Paul Carr (Bill Horton #1/Peter Taylor #1) pop up in the Morning Star episode I put in that show's thread. I thought you might want to know.
  7. Paul Carr on Morning Star. Look at the neat way they introduce him (around 16 minutes) - how many temp actors would have loved that?
  8. Another episode where Katy is mentioned instead of actually being seen. "Magic of soaps" trivia note - Paul Carr, who temps here, previously played Bill Horton on DAYS. His love interest in this is played by Floy Dean, who would go on to play Laura Horton about a month after this episode aired. Clearly fate could not keep Bill and Laura Horton apart. The way they introduce the temp recast at 16 minutes - I've never seen a soap do that before. It's really fun.
  9. The sad part is the material least easy to find is what is least likely to be put out. I have wanted to get a DVD for my parents of old shows like Nanny and the Professor and they just never bothered.
  10. I think someone said that they got a response from the production company about it. I'm not sure. I have heard DVD sales are pretty low these days (which is why you get fewer extra features and why so many shows only had a few seasons out), so I don't know if they'd see it as worth the cost of cleaning up and digitizing, but I wish they'd try. I do think they'd make a bit of money even from streaming.
  11. I think someone said that they started there in part because a lot of early episodes are missing or in bad quality and that they might release them on DVD. I wish they'd put them up for sale on their site (if they have a site). I guess they will likely decide it isn't worth the cost to bother with them.
  12. I love the gifs. Someone is probably losing their job... http://metro.co.uk/2017/04/19/a-bbc-complaints-officer-went-rogue-and-told-fans-there-would-not-be-a-female-doctor-who-6585242/
  13. I saw some comments elsewhere that suggested one of the reasons may have been NY's public advocate pushing for investigations. If so, good for her. http://www.amny.com/news/bill-o-reilly-fox-news-should-be-investigated-by-city-federal-agencies-letitia-james-says-1.13444638 I had no idea until all this started that they had paid the loofah woman $9 million. I guess they made far more on him. And I'll still have to see his books every time I go in the chain bookstore. Bleh.
  14. So apparently Rupert Murdoch's sons pushed him out. http://www.afr.com/news/world/north-america/rupert-murdoch-cedes-power-to-sons-on-bill-oreilly-sacking-20170419-gvo7hx
  15. I wonder if between this and Megyn Kelly leaving Faux News is going to move away from the cult of personality and try not to build their on-air people up.
  16. It's for that reason I wonder if they'll ever become the norm. I could see rioting and destruction if that happens.
  17. Is Inside Edition still around?
  18. Liz's adopted granddaughter Julia, played by among others Kyra Sedgwick and Faith Ford. Ford was playing Julia when she was killed. I think they killed Sally for the same reason they killed Felicia's husband Zane and then started a grisly serial killer story - to try to goose ratings.
  19. Did they give a reason Alice wasn't at Sally's funeral?
  20. I think Rauch and the Labines asked her and maybe Michael Tylo to return for the Mary/Mae Marisi storyline, as she was supposed to be Stacey, but they declined due to the way Rauch had treated them. I was a huge fan of Sarah Brown as Carly but it never seemed to come together on her other soaps. I'm not sure it would have been any different here.
