  1. If this is true don't they realize casually chatting about it on Twitter before anything happens isn't the best idea?
  2. Why do I feel like Trump just sees this all as a video game? I don't want to think about all the dead innocents.
  3. Thanks. What do you think of Jatina?
  4. Not surprised but still disgusted. Trump says he will likely just gut what's left of the ACA to force Democrats to work with him on a replacement. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/trump-may-withhold-cost-sharing-reduction-payments-to-force-democrats-to-negotiate-obamacare-repeal
  5. He looks like Merle even there. Wow.
  6. Them clowning Rinna with that clip must be humiliating beyond belief, if she has any self-awareness. LVP looks fantastic there - much better than some of her reunion looks. It's very '80s exclusive nightclub opening.
  7. Thanks for the details. Very vivid. I appreciate it.
  8. Maybe played wasn't the right word - I just think China gets a lot of free reign many countries do not in relations to the US, and as much as I think Obama wanted to engage with them and with Asia at large, various factors went against him (I'd imagine racism made that situation worse).
  9. I thought Julie was pretty interesting even with the Snyders. Her biggest downfall was the second Caleb, but even that worked out when they brought Pete in. Shannon was a favorite of mine when I first began watching ATWT, which made me hate her 1994 return even more. When I look back I can see why many were not fond of her (whereas I love Julie and Melanie Smith's Emily as much as ever and I still like Angel and Heather Rattray's Lily as well). The "comedy" stuff with Harriet is a bit iffy and many of the actual stories with Duncan were a mess. Then in 1989 suddenly she gets horribly depressing material out of nowhere (I almost wonder if Margaret Reed wanted a change). Still, it was a lot better than that 94-95 stint. I'm still sorry that was how it was handled. I was always kind of hoping Duncan and Jessica would reunite in ATWT's last year. Instead she just returned to escort Bonnie out of town.
  10. I have to admit I didn't mind Beatrice and I thought Ashley Crow was a decent actress. What hurt her was that she was so obviously a plot device character and she was part of such a convoluted story. It was also not really all that exciting to see a character who was gaslighted for years, infantilized, and who was only saved because of the new man in her life. I did think that Crow and Mark Pinter had more chemistry than he had with Margaret Reed or CZP (how ironic...), but Pinter was a bit of a void at ATWT. Looking at Marland's new young female characters it's always a pause to remember how wan many of them were and how often they seemed to lack agency, aside from Meg (who only really became a character in her last year on the show) and perhaps Pam.
  11. It's been a running theme for a while that we are being taken as fools internationally. That's what the press, and the GOP, loved to say when Obama was in the White House. I do think that we were played by China in a lot of ways during the Obama years, but Trump is learning what Obama knew - that China has the full deck, or just about. Or should I say the military people Trump brought in who seem to be cleaning house (for now anyway) know it, even if he doesn't. So Alabama, as mentioned here or in the status updates, now has a new governor after the Bentley fiasco. http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/04/alabama-governor-bentley-scandal-coverup-215010 It now has its second female governor, Kay Ivey. The story of the first female governor, George Wallace's wife Lurleen, is actually quite sad. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lurleen_Wallace
  12. He got away in the Bob/Susan one. Oh I remember more now - Duncan and Sabrina were in Montega and I think Duncan killed him. This was in 1993.
  13. I think he was let go but I'm not sure. His last appearances were in 1993 when he held Sabrina hostage in Montega or something. I'm not sure. I think Oakdalian may have some of that. For a long time I thought his last was 1992 when he held Susan and Bob hostage because the ATWT history stuff never mentioned anything after.
  14. Great ideas. It's too bad you don't just put out the dumbest ideas because then you'd have a permanent soap writing gig.
  15. Yeah I saw another one after this and she had her accent while I realized he was using an American accent. Bizarre.
  16. Yes. She came back to set up the backstory of that cipher Gabriel, Craig's son with a Montegan servant...a story that managed to make Craig look even worse, which I hadn't thought was possible.
  17. I think Marland had trouble writing for quite a few women on GL unless they were his creations (like Morgan, Nola and Carrie and Maureen). Holly was an anti-heroine before she became a victim and I don't think he would have had any idea where to take her. I do think that the decade away was a great boon to Maureen Garrett as she grew into her beauty and her acting had also gotten stronger.
  18. Someone put this up. Doubt it will be up long so enjoy while it is.
  19. I have to laugh at this. This woman has been clowned for years now and it never stops. She's a well paid clown so I guess she doesn't care. I hope no one in Singapore ever actually needs our help. http://www.politico.com/story/2017/04/kt-mcfarland-to-leave-national-security-council-237054
  20. And the leaks just keep coming - embarrassing as ever. I guess they will still blame Obama appointees.
