I can't watch Kim. She's just dirty to look at, and listening to her gives me flashbacks of my chain-smoking relatives. She looks awful - huge piles of fake hair on her head like an old truck full of used extensions blew up as she was walking by. And she's so entitled for reasons I do not understand. She looks like when gay porn producers take pity on aged out porn actresses they know and put them in some role of a wife or mother who shout-rasps all her lines through a death mask. The only time I enjoyed seeing her was when Nene would bitch her out.

If this was the level of her acting on the show I can see why Barbara Rhoades didn't last long...

@I Am A Swede did you watch Ashley's final episode? What did you think of it? I would have made a few changes but I thought they got the main part (Ashley's death and Laurel's final moments with him) just right. It was what I wanted.

Thanks. I wondered what that song was. I haven't ever looked at all the promos - I put that on YT as I couldn't find it on its own (it was in a commercial break someone else put up). I should try to find some of the individual promos - the Julian bits in that looked gorgeous. It also seems a world away from the Julian we actually got.

There are a lot of them on Youtube if you want to enjoy them. It's funny how NBC hid all the supernatural elements in the promos. They are beautifully filmed though.

I'd say she was hugely missed. I have a feeling that Victoria or Adam will learn they're infertile, which will lead to Adam's departure.

I remember reading about the "three-tier structure" the show had in the mid '70s (Schemering's book mentioned this), around the time of Kathy's abortion, which sounded interesting to me, although that review in Daytime TV Stars trashed it.

Thanks. For some reason I thought she only came in after Melba Rae died. Since you're here now could you give a recap of some of the 1981 stories? I know that there was something about Sunny going blind in the jungle or having a tumor, and I don't know what else.

From what I gather she'd been on the show for about 5 or 6 years and never really acted that way and then was just gone. I don't know, I've never actually seen the episodes myself.

They love war. It makes them feel "important," because they can take on the moral perch they last had in any reality during Vietnam, and they are deluded enough to believe that someone actually looks to them for guidance. Williams is probably happy to get to have new stories to make up too...

I haven't seen most of it (the most I remember seeing is that really bad clip where Peter Burnell tries to rape Sunny), but it was the show where supposedly during the writers' strike a fired actor took over as head writer and just made a mess. I think @saynotoursoap gave some detailed posts about these problems many pages ago, or maybe someone else did. This was a time period when they did things like have Stu's wife Ellie disappear one day and have him say that she'd run off with the hotel cook.
