  1. Thanks. He still shines through.
  2. It says a lot about the thought processes at GH that Michael is more likely to have his second love story with a day player prostitute than to ever have a relationship with a black woman.
  3. I couldn't even remember if they ever interacted.
  4. This was McTavish. I can't remember the exact scene now - I think it was just basically saying Reva had a history of homewrecking or being with a lot of men. I think they were in a fitting room or store.
  5. I think the real Natalie had left even before Kate was gone, but I do think she was still a real loss for AMC. An actress capable of coldness, vulnerability, humor, grand passion. The alleged circumstances of her exit make it even worse.
  6. I'm not sure if the story itself was unpopular, more that Iris never returned, with Michael Malone later essentially saying the powers that be would see her as too old to bring back.
  7. You're right, although IIRC the way it was worded was odd as I doubt the show at that point even knew much about her history beyond her return and Josh. The main issue was the characters involved, beyond Vanessa, who had every right to dislike her (even if Vanessa by that point was often written as saintly - if only she'd turned some of that fire on Dinah).
  8. Thanks. That's it.
  9. Watching the clip of Jason breaking the news to Tracy about Monica - you could see the grief in Steve Burton's eyes. Very powerful.
  10. This is so sweet. He did the Buzzfeed puppy videos before they were a thing.
  11. That was it, yes. That's where I first learned about Whispering Walter, or whatever his name was.
  12. Sorry for the spoiler there...
  13. A very moving storyline that taught viewers if you are struggling with fertility, then just go to town with your husband and his brother at the same time. In all seriousness, kudos to them for doing an interview with Eva and giving this a proper rollout.
  14. Never thought of that @alwaysAMC but I wouldn't be shocked. I was always a little hot and cold on Watros, but how I adored Olivia Birkelund.
  15. Short guest stint only. She has returned repeatedly though so we can always hope. @I Am A Swede As always I appreciate your detailed your thoughts on these years so much. A long time ago there was a Farm-era blog, maybe Beckindale Blog or something like that. I don't know if it's still around, but you are providing what they left behind.
  16. These have been on Youtube for about seven months so any hardcore Lane Davies fans may already know of them, but if not, the creator of the short-lived FOX sitcom Woops! uploaded two unaired episodes (the others, minus one, are also all on his channel).
  17. I will not watch anything with Mario Lopez, but I'm happy for Jane. Can any Australians here tell me if this is similar to the Gold and Silver Logies system? I guess those are fan voted while these are by the panel.
  18. Thanks. Allen seems to have an interesting career...in a lot of those weird vertical short dramas, or whatever you call them. I guess they are probably the way of the future for soaps, in some sad fashion.
  19. Thanks @slick jones I didn't know a Love Island contestant popped up on GH. Surprised they didn't promote it. Then again he doesn't seem to have been a big deal on that show. Appreciate the Joe Breen interview too. The link to Joe's documentary site no longer works, but the Wayback Machine still has a few pages saved from 2019 (the photos and video are not available). Joe mentions in the writeup that he got infected because he was a frequent blood donor due to having a rare blood type, and he found out while he was starting at GL. https://web.archive.org/web/20190125204952/http://www.woundedeagleflying.com:80/home
  20. Thanks for sharing.
  21. I remember when Lillian and Vanessa were trash-talking Reva with Annie, which put off a number of viewers, due to Lillian's past ties to her as well as Lillian's own checkered past with Ed.
  22. Thanks for all these clips and the commentary, @Maxim The actress who plays Rachel is the wonderful Ellen Bethea. Watching the Blair and Max clip, I come away struggling to feel sympathy for Max. I think it's down to: - his connection with Blair, while very passionate, not being developed enough to make me feel for his sense of betrayal - knowing he'd had this story with Gabrielle for a number of years - my nagging view that James de Paiva had aged out of such material I would love to know what the original plans for Cord and Blair would have been if John Loprieno had stayed. A story where Cord became bored or estranged from Tina and was caught up in the Blair whirlwind, only to slowly realize unlike Tina, she could not be "tamed" (even temporarily) as she did not see her as her world the way Tina often did with Cord - that could have been a compelling departure.
  23. You can definitely see the light in their eyes when they get to go back to the OG Obrecht run - so much effort put into Liesl's histrionics. I'll give Kathleen Gati credit for trying (and I find her dramatics less grating than I did back when she first arrived), but they will always feel like a sideshow, or something that might have ended up on a summer season web spinoff in 2015. It frustrates me because, even though I know you and others have good points about the short-term potential for the Gio story, I still think there was much more they could have done, even with them not wanting to pay to use Olivia or Ned. They have spent so much more airtime on a story that was garbage from day one (Kristina having a baby for Molly and then having an extended breakdown and rampage).
  24. They've really fumbled the aftermath as all of that is going to feel unearned now. I think it's down to Frank, Korte, CVE not being genuinely invested in any of these characters. Not even Gio. It reminds me of NAC's Spencer as there was always a certain apathy there as well even though he was the younger male lead (much more than Gio has been). In that case I know some thought it was because NAC stood up for himself, but I wonder if it's just a resentment for newer faces compared to old crutches. They will always try with, say, Joss (her stories are not good, but they are always around), as she is tied to their favorites or they have more of a connection with Eden McCoy. Having all of this brought back up with Monica soon passing is even more dubious to me as I won't be surprised if we get some excuse for Tracy to get a tongue lashing.
  25. I think they did see Grant as tough to replace, but another factor may be Alan being gone. Philip was so defined by Alan. Maybe they had to wait for Grant to finish with AMC before they got him back, but the character did seem filed away for most of the first half of the '90s. They could have recast Rick, but they probably didn't see a need. Michael O'Leary was seemingly well-liked by viewers and had served well enough as a B-hero. The issue is that without Ed Rick could not serve as a Bauer patriarch...but then Peter Simon's Ed never fit that role either, as he was too haunted and terse. Maureen did a lot of heavy lifting, and then Meta did when Labine focused on her in that aspect in her 00-01 stint. (one of the few things I'll praise Labine's GL for) She did have a few nice moments with Harley, although JFP took most of that away, as always. I do think Beth should have been there for Nick's return.
