  1. There seems to be more and more of a groundswell about Cuomo planning to run again, especially with the state legislature's decision not to impeach him.
  2. Pathetic.
  3. In terms of the severe voter suppression laws passed there, yes.
  4. And this is with Trump doing his best to undercount minority numbers in the census. No wonder there have been so many efforts to suppress votes and overturn elections. They will make sure all of this means nothing.
  5. Horrifying. And just the start.
  6. Just pathetic - over and over Collins, breathlessly hyped by the media and her sycophants on Twitter, has been aggressive and hostile. Sadly this type of ignorance only leads to more and more power and prestige in the press.
  7. Some are already saying that Cuomo is resigning because that means he can run for office again. I wouldn't be surprised.
  8. The closest that ever came to happening was after the Access Hollywood tape was leaked, but the base still rallied around him. Some GOP governors are more easy to push into resignation, but their base is so depraved even they don't stay away for long (look at Eric Greitens, likely to be elected senator from Missouri next year). I'm just glad someone got Cuomo to resign, as given his long history of battles and hostility toward many in the party, that wasn't a sure thing. I saw that Ronan Farrow put out a piece on him last night about his ugly treatment of various officials - so maybe he knew something else was on the way.
  9. Two episodes I hadn't seen on Youtube before (or if so not in a long time). The first has Lois Nettleton and Hal Holbrook.
  10. I also tend to still see Melissa as Jennifer - I just wish there was not so much baggage. I think Cady is great but I also think she was lucky to only be a fill-in and have a story in that period which was not some of the real low points the character had (imagine her being there during the Shawn Christian years).
  11. You're right. I suppose I felt like Colenback looked more Bob's age. I'm not sure how John Reilly looked at the time (outside of photos) and I have never seen any of the Toms of that era either.
  12. That's down to the absolutely ridiculous aging of Dan Stewart. He was Bob's contemporary in age by the late '60s.
  13. Thanks for tagging me. You could really tell what a bad way Kit was in around that time. I think the fame that show brought people was not a good thing for a number of them in the short or long run. I wish him the best.
  14. This has been a busy two days for celebrities passing. I'm glad she got to live long enough to have several comebacks.
  15. Markie was very bright and very likeable onscreen, very sharp - she was also very underrated, as I think many took for granted how good she was, not to mention what a difficult task she had in joining Night Court as she was the third woman to take that public defender/female lead. As she had not really aged and also not appeared that frequently in recent years, I still see her as the woman I grew up watching on Night Court. And yes, please stop the Night Court reboot. The cast was what made the original show work.
  16. To go back to the above discussion about Kathryn Hays - @Vee mentioned this movie to me and we were both surprised to see Kathryn Hays has a notable role. It's called Ladybug, Ladybug, and is in the "stop a nuclear holocaust" film cycle of the early '60s. Kathryn is mostly in the first half of the film, as a pregnant teacher. There are a number of scenes that just rely on us seeing her in non-dialogue situations, subtle shifts of emotion on her face. I remember what Kathryn said in the Paley center videos (not sure if they are still on Youtube) about how she felt as if Irna was writing moments from her (Kathryn's) life and so on - it makes me wonder if Irna saw this film and was moved by how much Kathryn did with pure introspective moments, which is what soaps, especially in those years. were about. It makes me all the sadder nothing of early Kim is available. (I should warn some of her scenes have a very annoying alarm blaring throughout)
  17. An example of how much some of these senators care about doing their jobs:
  18. The GOP do want COVID to spread, because they can then try to blame it on Biden, which they are already doing. The talking points that the media are lapping up are Biden and immigrants. Anyway, here is what Bernie Sanders, who is supposed to be an Outreach Chair for the party, is doing today - putting a huge target on Shontel Brown, encouraging his followers to see her as wrongly elected and unworthy. As many others here have mentioned before, it tends to be heavily black elections where the dead end left swoops in to talk about the results being rigged and the voters being idiots.
  19. Not to go off topic even more, apologies, but one thing I wish Congress could work on is the unemployment system. You have Rick Scott who bragged a few years ago about making sure barely anyone in Florida was able to get unemployment. That's true in many places. I know someone who in going on 6 months of unemployment, not only has received nothing, but was only able to even get on the phone with the unemployment office once. There's such an idea of moochers and how extra unemployment benefit was causing people to not go back to work, and it was a smokescreen to hide just how many people are not even getting their fair share.
