  1. As Ryan Murphy and the talentless hacks at Riverdale show, gay men are happy to push anti-gay imagery and gay stereotypes. This is the same moron who had gay men faking hate crimes to get a boyfriend, and trying to sexually assault straight men in-between Golden Girls marathons. He is shameful and does nothing but perpetuate the easy contempt many straight people have for gay men. He treats them as "others," as weird, pathetic, and a joke. I hope all the people at sites like Daytime Confidential who blew his ego up with no real cause are happy - then again, I guess one of them has a job there...
  2. RIP Jo Kendall, the tragic Peggy Sugden/Skilbeck. In a busier day than usual to take us back to the earliest Farm years, the wonderful Louise Jameson is rejoining the show as Rhona's mother. The press release makes no mention of her role as Sharon Crossthwaite, in spite of how devastating and important that storyline was to setting up Emmerdale Farm's dark edge. I was hoping she might be able to play a role with ties to Sharon, and the family, but clearly that isn't happening. I wish her the best, either way - she disliked her role on EE (and I can't blame her). At least she will have a strong scene partner, as Zoe Henry is one of the show's best talents. https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/emmerdale/a38929970/emmerdale-eastenders-louise-jameson-rhona-storyline/
  3. 2010 Hollyoaks tore any heart out of that show. I have never really been able to watch it regularly since. As for trusting this regime to bring in any Sugdens, that's like trusting Santa Claus to bring me money. It's not going to happen. If it did, I would be willing to accept it.
  4. Sad to hear this. I have barely seen any of his work as Adam Drake, and I guess I never will. He was a very handsome, charismatic man. If you want to see him in a real change of pace role, watch OC and Stiggs.
  5. That sounds out of bounds on her part. I can see why they left. Honestly I don't think I have ever enjoyed much of anything I have seen of her work on any soap.
  6. He went around the hate circuit, and endorsed extremist candidates (one has a photo up and an endorsement from only a few weeks ago). He wanted fame and he paid the price.
  7. The main thing I knew of him was when people would bring his tweets here in the endless wars about whether or not it was hilarious to talk about Freddie Smith's weight.
  8. never mind - that was probably someone's joke
  9. Morgan Stevens, who played in the TV movie and series (I have no idea if this image is from either), was found dead at his home recently. https://deadline.com/2022/01/morgan-stevens-dead-veteran-television-actor-who-played-nick-diamond-on-melrose-place-was-70-1234920664/

  11. I can't even tell you what JMB's Lulu was meant to be. I just remember her being very cold and hard. The last time Lulu was worth watching was when she was a mute child.
  12. I'm seeing a lot of the Dave Weigel types jeering people for being wary about Manchin on the SCOTUS vote. I will believe it when I see it. I am more wary of Sinema, who is such a sellout and who has underwater poll numbers. I could see her switching parties.
  13. Joan's first interview with Jay Leno. Starts at about 9 minutes.
  14. A part of me wonders if many at Bravo just did not see her views as anything wrong (or even secretly agreed with them). Another part of me wonders if it is because they knew many would start calling for the firings of other Housewives (I've seen calls over Ramona, Luann, Rinna, etc. today). I think the main issue is just many, Andy Cohen chief among them, are very out of touch with their viewer base, and assuming these are silly social media back and forths that everyone will move on from the next time someone drunk tweets. At least someone acknowledged the reality, but it's something that is just going to keep happening unless they want to make more serious changes and try to figure out how to drain some of the toxicity and bigotry from the core of the shows. It's not 2010 or 2011 anymore, and never will be again.
  15. Ryan Phillippe was a guest star on SNL tonight to help plug the new MacGruber show (the video is on their channel as I don't want to clog up the thread).
  16. I don't remember Luke was ever being fatherly toward her either. I remember most of Luke's time in the late '90s and '00s as only caring about himself. I don't really care enough to go back and check though.
  17. RIP Meat Loaf. https://variety.com/2022/music/news/meat-loaf-singer-bat-out-of-hell-rocky-horror-dead-dies-1235159445/
  18. I can see the layout for the Katherine and JoAnn relationship on Y&R (I assume the plan all along was for this to be a yearning but unbalanced relationship between two very lonely women and the conclusion was in the end likely going to be what happened onscreen, just that version was much more sped up), but the Sharon stuff baffles me in what the message or intent was going to be. If the idea was that Sharon would eventually accept herself and move on with her life, with Julie coming around to support her, I wish they had managed to work that in in a more subtle way - the audience likely still would have lashed out, but maybe not as vocally.
  19. Adam McKay? I imagine it will be a pity party for "economically anxious" terrorists.
  20. To be honest, neither do I, just had her in my head because of her pouting yesterday over Ossoff calling out her lies about voting rights.
  21. And of course the originator, Susan Collins, who was fuming after Jon Ossoff called her ass out.
  22. Speaking out against violence by cheering protestors being run over? What a rotting husk she is.
  23. I do get big "just a job" feelings from Ellen, but then I think she only worked with Anne for about three years anyway.
