He needs to go at Meet the Press. Not that his replacement will be any better, but there's something particularly loathsome about how dull, stupid, and smug he is.

The public didn't really care about Afghanistan either but the media still made it a centerpiece, because they get to control what they want to control. The same people who love to go on about censorship, like the loathsome Taibbi and Greenwald, will of course have nothing to say about this.

The media is already taking their marching orders to both manipulate the public into only caring about the leak and into downplaying the future of the ruling beyond abortion. The press will never, ever stop watering down and sympathizing with bigotry and persecution.

Yglesias was one of the "sensible" voices who used to go on about Republicans no longer focusing on social issues. Conveniently, no mention of that these days. I saw this as well: There was an article about how tech companies and business are not prepared for what will happen once these laws pass and Roe falls, as they will be obligated to turn over records and dig into the histories of women who have miscarriages, and so on. I guess this is also why they have gone on and on about the evils of big tech - to brainwash the public and their media flacks into being fine with this. All I can think with the homophobia is how much worse this would be if it was not a big conservative "hero" - the way they treated Andrew Gillum, or even the digs at Pete Buttigieg, who has tried so very very hard to be the model gay, really stands out.

A video is going around showing Miss Madison, naked, humping another guy's face. Madison claims this was years ago and was two friends joking (ladies, if your man is humping another man while naked, then unless you're in on it, I'd say it's not a good sign!) This is one of those cases where I said it would happen and I wish I'd been wrong, both because nobody needs to see that and because it's just further normalizing homophobia. It's obvious that this is just going to escalate. He is the dumbest kind of moron - the one who believes he is indestructible. That means a paper trail. I imagine even more is out there and it will keep coming unless he drops out of office.

You haven't. I'd be interested too. There's been a lot of push today by Nina's media allies to push her as the oppressed victim of the system, but this was a blowout. Nina is apparently going to grift for President in 2024 rather than try again.

Not that it's a surprise, but a thread on what is in the works to strike down same-sex marriage: It's easier for people to just focus on marriage - it always has been - but never let anyone fool you into thinking that's what this is all about. They do not even want same-sex couples to have hospital visitation rights. They want us dead, and will stop at nothing until we are dead.

If any of you get MeTV, the next episode of Collectors Call (which airs on Sunday I believe) is going to have some Doctor Who collectibles, and included a glimpse of Lisa Whelchel dressed as the Fourth Doctor. It makes me happy that even after all these years, he is still the most iconic Doctor.

The more I think about it the more I think someone from the GOP leaked this (I've seen a lot of speculation about Ginni Thomas) to make sure the votes go their way. If any of the 4 even thought about changing their votes now, or not going along with Alito's extreme positions, they would likely face massive repercussions.

The only time the window was there to codify Roe would have been in 2009, and even then I am not sure because the Senate Democratic caucus was much more conservative at that point.
