  1. https://deadline.com/2022/05/snl-kate-mckinnon-aidy-bryant-kyle-mooney-pete-davidson-exit-1235029349/ End of an era, I suppose, but long overdue. I wish a few more people were leaving with them. My guess is Lorne is asking some people to stay quiet for now.
  2. I never noticed how much slow build they really did put into Gary's change of personality until you mention it. The best thing about Kenny is his looks. They probably should have done more with that and less of him as a high-flying record producer. (I guess the Kristin episode has already aired?)
  3. Sorry, I thought that was already aired. I enjoyed seeing Priscilla too, who I suppose was more known for her work on Dallas around this time. You probably already know this, but the hooker in the season 1 finale was played by Carolyn Conwell (Mary Williams). Now that you are talking about season 2 I am reminded of how strange the opener with Conchata Ferrell was, much as I loved seeing her. They try to do a variation of this class warfare in a season premiere many years later...I will save my rants for when you get there.
  4. @Vee I was wondering what you thought of the episode about Ginger being stalked over her abortion (sadly, more timely than anyone would want, and one of the better attempts at a thriller on KL for me, even if it's all very campy) and also the episode with Val's cancer, which due to Ted Shackelford's performance is one of the most ridiculous episodes of the show for me.
  5. That will be great.
  6. It speaks volumes that the only criticism this hack cared about heading off was from the right.
  7. State of independence is a beautiful song. I suppose he may best be remembered for Blade Runner.
  8. I am hoping there's been enough stories about the school board takeovers to wake voters up, but so much still goes under the radar. Another awful story about the Roe fallout:
  9. I didn't know any of this. Always appreciate your details. This was before Melanie had her film comeback. I'm surprised none of the soaps tried to bring Tracy on around that time to cash in on the name.
  10. Erika is like that drunk aunt you have to put up with at increasingly infrequent family gatherings. People try to figure out why she's so drunk, and angry, but ultimately they just try to ignore her as much as possible.
  11. Oof. Between the bad singing, Lisa Lawrence's bug eyes (made worse by the makeup), and the inherent cheesiness (not the good kind), what a great example of how rudderless Valente's ATWT was. And I don't buy that Paul didn't know the Twist. Considering how square Marland's Oakdale was, I imagine Paul, Lien and Andy went to every dance class led by Ellen, Bob, and occasional visitor Penny.
  12. @slick jones I thought this might interest you about the Catlins episode I posted. The guy who uploaded it, Tony Wright, replied to a question of mine about who he played: "I played Tony, the young thug who isn't Ox Baker the professional wrestler. The character was originally Pete in the script, but I asked Chris McIntyre, the producer, if they could call me by my name, Tony."
  13. It's not happening, never will, sadly. I want to be more disappointed than I am. I have no desire to see Kelly Ripa or Mark Consuelos in anything.
  14. I'm very sorry to hear she has passed away. She did her best with such a poor part.
  15. I see what you mean. It's not as if they weren't going to use these attacks against other people anyway - MTG telling Pete Buttigieg to stay away from children is still in my head. I guess that's what he gets for thinking he was too far to fall.
  16. He dresses in drag, which is a feminine action in this instance, and it was a play on words as his first name starts with an M. That was about as far as it went. Maybe I already called him that before he was in drag, I don't know, I am barely making it through each day and these posts are the last thing on my mind. Either way, you won't have to worry about seeing it anymore as he is now out of politics and my interest in him is over - he can go shill for Russia on Newsmax without my knowledge.
  17. Good for Renee. As Neighbours has played out its final months, Tammin Sursok (ex-Colleen, Y&R) has had an extended guest role as a fashion designer. Sursok, of course, got her start on Australian soaps. The role, equal parts passive-aggressive, bitchy, manipulative, in over her head, and occasionally vulnerable, suits her more than Colleen did.
  18. I wasn't surprised when I went back to 538 for the first time since I got fully sick of Nate Silver and saw that his various team members were talking at length about Trump's endorsements and his various successes, complete with various lists. The media will never, ever let go.
  19. That's fine...given that he supported anti-gay candidates and views while indulging in alleged various activities with other men, I simply don't care in this instance about my decorum with this type of person. I'm just too fed up at this point. I am the same with Lindsey Graham. If there was a way on here for people to block posts, I would say do that. Unfortunately there does not seem to be.
