  1. That seems to be the case - I think for the interview she was just talking a lot about her early days knowing Andrea, and the world Andrea was a part of that Fiona wasn't yet. She also talked a bit about Andrea's funeral and how wonderful Andrea's husband was. I may have missed some of the other recollections as I came in late. There's another interesting part near the end where she talks about how after being invited to see a play at the school where her kids were going, she was further invited to whip the theater department into shape as she thought it was dreadful.
  2. I missed some of the start but they didn't really talk in the part I watched about her second run, just her first and her time at GL. She did say Gabrielle was her favorite character of the two because she was Gabrielle during such important times in her life. She also said that after she left OLTL the first time she would have to not cry around 1 and 2 PM each day because mentally she was trained to cry and cry while playing Gabrielle. When she went to GL she wanted to make sure she played a character who didn't cry (that didn't end up happening...). She also talked a bit about just what it was like interacting with Andrea when she joined OLTL, as Andrea was a star and she was not. She mentioned Andrea not really wanting to share too much with her, and also not wanting to go and eat with her, as Andrea was in her own world and had an entourage (which Fiona teased her about a bit), but she did say that she learned a lot from Andrea about acting on the soap, about how you and the writers will eventually find the rhythms for your character, etc.
  3. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/aug/17/ron-desantis-republican-debate-memos-presidential-campaign Some of the DeSantis boosters are claiming this is some clever psyop to trick his opponents into thinking this is his real debate plan. Considering how consistently stupid his campaign people are, I have my doubts.
  4. God bless America... https://www.dailydot.com/debug/oliver-anthony-9-11/
  5. I think after that point Frank worked fine enough in a support role. Buzz was such a flighty character, I never really believed him in a parental role anyway.
  6. I do think Greg Beecroft was more charismatic than Frank, but I found Tony to be exhausting and sanctimonious in most of the Marland episodes I've seen. Generally I didn't mind Frank, and I thought he had some real chemistry with Sherry's Blake and Melina's Eleni.
  7. Someone was talking a day or two ago about how you just don't have that level of history or emotion in more recent returns from the dead, like what is coming up with Cindy (the show chose to have anyone left who would have a big reaction to her being alive find out offcamera). Those moments with Sharon and Den, alongside the fire of "Shannis," are unparalleled.
  8. A few more 1982 RH promos in this (and a few from 1981)
  9. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/shelley-smith-dead-model-turned-actress-1235562340/ Any who heavily or even moderately watched '80s game shows will remember Shelley.
  10. An Ontario game show for kids from 1992 - What's the Big Idea.
  11. Thanks @te. !!! I don't think I've ever seen this before. And I think this is my first glance of Georgann Johnson on ATWT - she's just as good as I hoped she would be. Any glimpse I get of Melinda reminds me of what could have been. Beau seems like such a brat. Jay seemed to always have the same old stories, and complaints about money. The guy playing Matt, or Mac, or whatever his name is, is kind of cute - can't remember what else he was on. It's always nice to see Carol. Rita Walter has such a sweet, genuine connection that many on soaps then or now lacked. Happy to get more Joyce too. I guess this is right before she "died" in a car accident. This seems to have been a moribund period for the show, but it doesn't seem bad as much as just the show reaching a point of malaise that allowed the hungrier soaps to finally catch up.
  12. Always nice to see Traci. Is this strike work yet, or is Griffith just doing everything anyway at this point?
  13. For any David Tom completists, he has a small role in a few scenes of this 2003 pilot, Titletown.
  14. We'll see if this goes anywhere. https://deadline.com/2023/08/writers-guild-strike-talks-resume-amptp-1235459662/
  15. @Paul Raven Thank you for transcribing these old interviews.
  16. I do like HBS' work in the role, but I think by her last years she did have a more sanctimonious quality that Ellen Dolan tends to get more blame for (probably because Ellen wasn't as warm an actress). I think I enjoy her Margo earlier in her run when she has some drama but balanced with comedy. Speaking of which, she's a bit muggy here, but this little interaction with Barbara at about 10-11 minutes is entertaining and shows just how much their relationship changed after Barbara went bad. (I know this has already been posted a few times - sorry everyone)
  17. Looking on Twitter I see that there was a strike-mandated montage today to the Carly and Olivia friendship. I didn't even know they were friends. Then again, I've watched about a dozen scenes over the last dozen years. I also saw someone saying if they want to have Portia object to Sprina, they should have her object because of Nik and Gia. I guess Gia just doesn't exist anymore?
