  1. She's trying to act up a little too much. She does have some presence, and she was OK on RH, but I don't know whether she was ever recognized everywhere she went. I guess her soap experience helps explain why the opening of her video looks like the opening of AW circa 1985
  2. Ugh, Peggy/Archie being #1 is just politics. I'm so tired of the overhyped Archie stuff. How did you get all those videos into one message? I thought the limit was 2.
  3. I always loved those. My favorite was when "Edward" made a pass at Alex.
  4. Also from this issue, Bright Promise celebrates 500 episodes (how many did they run to in the end?).
  5. FrenchFan. Yes, I also owe them thanks. Thank you for reminding me. I'm glad you read the articles and that they don't get repetitive. I appreciate that.
  6. No relation to Larry I assume.
  7. Looks like those fans who felt Jean should not have to leave just because Stacey was will be happy. Gillian Wright will be returning to the show in spring 2011. http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a289920/jean-slater-to-stay-on-eastenders.html
  8. Thanks for reading them! We'll never get to see these so I just like to give a few details and then also hopefully jog the memories of those who have seen them. Apparently Casey was also in one of Roger Corman's soft core exploitation films, The Student Nurses, a few years before this. I guess that's why he was so happy to strip down for this photo shoot, if he made a career of it in movies. (Then again 70s men in general were much more willing to do this).
  9. How long was Diane Ladd on Secret Storm? IMDB says 71-72 but that doesn't really mean anything. What stories did she have? Was she the last person to play Kitty Styles? I didn't know she was on soaps. I have always seen her as someone who would have been great on soaps (imagine her as a Frame on AW), so I'm glad she had a little time on them. January 1972 TV Dawn to Dusk (Ideal Publishing Corp).
  10. Thanks for telling me about this. I loved her work as Rose. I'm sorry it didn't work out. I wonder if she ever said why she left. Was she fired or did she want to go? I think Claire Labine said she didn't handle the situation with ABC very well, but I don't know if she would have intentionally sent scripts late. It really does suck when you watch the episodes and see when ABC starts interfering. I kind of think it happened even earlier, around the time of Kimberly. I can see why she preferred GL (she was so much fun as Helena) but I wish she could have worked things out at RH. That's interesting what she says about Kelli. I wonder if she has ever talked about her small roles on OLTL and AW.
  11. It was great -- this was not long after Tracy had come to Soho, but when the apartment building they all lived in lost power, she and young Dillon joined everyone else in the bar for a potluck type of dinner. They lit candles, and "Seasons of Love" from Rent played for a montage.
  12. You mean a new soap starting or a bland blonde guy cast on a soap and stripping down? Someone replaced him as Rodney on this show didn't they? Apparently he was in The Erotic Adventures of Robinson Crusoe. Huh...
  13. That's interesting -- I guess I can see what he means. He probably also knew Malcolm was leaving, and Catherine Hicks was going, and Ilene Kristen was about to go. I think I would have really enjoyed Bucky/Siobhan, even if I loved her with Jack. So did he ever say why they gave him NO story for basically two years?
  14. Thanks. I wonder if that's because they never gave him anything to do or if they never gave him anything to do because they thought he wanted to leave. Either way, what a waste.
  15. Also in this issue, interview and beefcake shot of "Peyton Place's sexy Rodney Harrington."
  16. Apparently Mary K. Wells was asked to be the leading lady on DAYS opposite Macdonald Carey (I assume this would be Alice), but couldn't, because she would have had to have taken her kids out of school.
  17. From the June 1972 Afternoon TV (Roband Publications, Inc) - a feature on the cast being put together. Some very sarcastic comments on not being able to contact one actor (did he do any other soaps after this?). Did you know Mary K Wells was asked to be Alice Horton?
  18. I'm glad you read through all that. I wasn't sure if anyone could. So you got something out of it then? I have to admit I thought some of it, like the bit from Ma Perkins, was beautiful, and true to life. I like the idea of radio soaps too. It's a shame these died in the US long ago. The UK managed to keep them going. Have you looked up Guiding Light radio in Youtube? You will get about 5-6 episodes or more.
  19. From the August 1976 TV Mirror (The Macfadden Group, Inc).
  20. From the August 1970 Daytime TV (Sterling House, Inc), a feature on the three new soaps premiering at this time.
