  3. This is going to make poor Donna go nuts, having to keep it a secret. Love the GL mention. Michael came back in 1995.
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vzKt8BhpQI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywsMDfGusfY This is from last week but Norman Reedus talks about all the showrunner changes. http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/03/22/norman-reedus-showruners-the-walking-dead/ Ever since I saw a comment on TWOP that Daryl has Jane Fonda's hair from Klute, I can't stop seeing that.

  6. It mostly seems like posturing - if you want to really make a stand, then try something like having a guy in one of the Housewife slots.

  9. I know. It just cracks me up. Boom - shot in the head. Goodbye. I wasn't interested in that group (I do like Tyreese and Sasha but I'm not sure if they have a role yet), but I wasn't expecting that. Michael Rooker was indescribably good in so much of this episode. I think the scene of him driving into Woodbury as the zombie Pied Piper was the best sequence I've seen on this show ever, and one of the best on TV in years. I'm not going to cry for Merle, but I will cry over Michael Rooker no longer being on the show. He does so much with his eyes and with his voice, especially his eyes. I'm also sorry we never got more with Merle and Michonne. I don't mean shipping, I just mean conversations, tension. He and Danai were terrific together. I've grown to care so much about Michonne these last back season episodes. She's such a unique character for TV. They've finally made it work. Now that we hear her inner voice, we don't need to hear her speaking.
  10. Do you ever notice that they don't have any real interest in writing for teenage boys on the show? Ben, the boy who was at the prison with Tyreese's group, was casually shot in the head in this episode. Beth's boring non-speaking boyfriend barely appeared last season, mostly just to round up walkers, then to die. I wonder if Carl has that in his contract.
  11. Michonne had no real options. She was tied up, Merle is in good shape, and even if she could have gotten away, she was surrounded by walkers. That scene where Glenn cut off a ring for Maggie was one of those where my heart sunk a little, especially because Glenn paused, for just a second, one last realization of how truly dessicated their world is. The scenery in this episode was stunning.

  14. Beth. I thought Carol was very important to the heart of the group in the first half of the season, and a little of the back half. They've just had so much going on, they haven't showed her as much lately.
  15. What annoys me is how they constantly say they worked with this charity and that charity. It doesn't matter what charity you worked with if the message you send is so unbelievably horrendous and damaging.
  16. All that I've found, I've posted in this thread, but thank you for sharing your memories. I hope you have more to say.
  17. Glad you liked it.
  18. I'd seen the opening but never these two episodes. Actually, three - there's part of a third. It looks like a show in transition, which makes me even more annoyed by the cancellation. I feel like a lot of these last episodes revolved around out of control men and the scared women who love them (Ben, Ray), or who don't (Elliot). I'd like to see them in other stories. I think Gittana/Birgitta is charismatic even with that unfortunate hair, but I don't enjoy seeing her basically act out nothing but scenes of being terrified of the man she loves. I'm very impressed by Lloyd Battista's work, but then in various scenes he's just shouting and being violent much of the time. Who was April? Was she Arlene's daughter with another man? I guess Bambi was a supporting presence by the end. Betsy seems to be a little too wan to be a main heroine, but I do wonder what would have been in store for her if the show had continued. I was happy for the little things, like seeing Arlene's mother Carrie (I wasn't sure if she was on the show at the end), and seeing Vanessa's gorgeous kitchen. Probably the most interesting part for me was LIanne. I'm glad we got to see a short clip of her at her very 70s apartment, with her sister, who apparently was introduced soon before the show ended. I wonder what the plans were for her. CHH is an interesting physical contrast to Ben's family, but he's very charismatic. I can see why he was hired. I don't know how well he works with Betsy though. Not crazy about the snake on a boat sequence.

  21. Here's the David Snell we were talking about, temping on Love of Life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bkqLRz-UQI
  22. This must have been a first (?). The closing days of Love of Live had not one, but two different actors temping in the role of Hal Carson, back-to-back. I wonder what happened there. I can't imagine how confused fans of the character must have felt. Kip Whitman had previously been in one of the many short-lived ATWT roles of the late 70s. David Snell had been on OLTL and wrote for Edge of Night. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jhO0SzJ_mM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bkqLRz-UQI
  23. So do I. It's always weird seeing Julianna McCarthy with her. I don't know if you saw it but I put a clip reel of some big 85-86 (or 85-87, I'm not sure) moments in the videobash section.
  24. The problem with the story for me is it came out of nowhere - she was barely seen for a very lengthy period of time. And Ryan was supposed to be heavily addicted to cocaine, to the point where he would frequently leave the room to go get high in a bathroom. He was magically cured offcamera. I don't think soaps need to be realistic, but if they're going to introduce these stories, the stories need a resolution. If you're enjoying it, I'm happy for you.
