  1. I made my own icon for my beautiful beautiful Robert, and it fit and everything. I'm far more proud than I should be! Next step is to figure out how to make a damn gif, and then figure out how to write on them and all that crap...
  2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQc8hpRcqrU
  3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNnq4G6r_GI The most interesting part for me is they let her learn about and react to all the changes since she's been gone. Soaps sometimes forget to do this. Nancy is so annoying. Seeing Dean as a part of the all but depleted Wicks family just reminds me yet again of what a stupid mistake DTC made in destroying the character.
  4. I wonder how they chose who they listed as the regular cast. So did Corinne Conley do the voice for the doll in Rudolph?
  5. This is when I thought Richard Culliton helped turn around an aimless show, and without firing a dozen people and throwing crap against the wall. Even things that annoyed me to no end, like Lily's nonstop whining, were put in proper context here, as were Damian's own demons. Using their childhoods to explain why they feel the way they do goes a long way. It's great to see more of Julie's stolen money story (one of my favorite Julie stories and the story that along with Janice kept me from walking away from ATWT completely at this time), and her complex relationship with Pete, who was a great character. I'd forgotten that Jef (another great character dumped for no reason) was involved with Snyder family stuff before he got involved with Emily. This woman Holden was - I always had a hard time telling her apart from the doctor he was involved with. Oh well, boring either way. Love Claire Bloom and the classy maliciousness she exudes in every scene. Her death glare when Lisa and Eduardo arrived gave me a chill. And Janice's manipulations and games (doing her best to stop Kim from realizing the truth, and to try to get Kim's loved ones to support her) were riveting to watch.
  6. Radio Mirror September 1947 Is this the same Winifred Wolfe who went on to write soaps?
  7. This is a good episode - a bit more energy than most episodes around this point, mainly because of the interesting dynamics with the Amanda/Ben/Lucille/Henry/Vanessa/Ross/etc. group. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXMeWCMD2As
  8. The Morgan/Kelly/Rita/Ed/Nola/etc. material has been up for years, but the rest of this seems to be new. It's a continuation of the episode NBA linked above. I never knew that Mike and Elizabeth got such closure. I guess it explains why she never wanted to come back. She did it to herself, by giving everything up to protect Philip, but I do feel a little sorry for her. It's fine work from Don Stewart and Lizbeth Dalton. There's some terrific, understated work from Robert Milli and Barbara Berjer too, as the Thorne marriage is over and done, to Barbara's surprise and sorrow. It's also a blast to see Ross poking at Vanessa again and again, and not having a ton of patience for crazy Lucille either. He was a lot of fun as a heel. I just love Lucille, who is such a ridiculous character. I wish she'd stayed longer. All the bad disco dancing, classic Roberta and Donny tunes, and rare hints of realism (like the men gawking at Rita - who wouldn't?) I never get tired of watching. The pained conversation between Rita and Ed at the disco and Morgan's futile attempts at sneaking around I also never get tired of watching. Morgan was so lively at this point, something the show needed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gAS-nr-MK8
  9. Eric, I hope you eventually get a chance to watch the August 1981 AMC or the two August 1981 OLTL episodes put up on Youtube. We'd enjoy hearing your thoughts. Boy is that period of OLTL a patchwork of malaise, although the Dorian stuff is very entertaining. By contrast the AMC is pretty darn solid, and it's one of the first appearances of Opal and Jenny.
  10. We seem to have missed her by some months, sadly. I think in one of the episodes someone said that her mother thought Matt was having an affair with Maggie's sister, didn't she?
  11. Thanks. I was surprised at that dialogue too. I wonder if that's the first time the word was used on a soap. Weren't they going to do a prison rape story? Sarah's dialogue, especially when she tells Bill there's no way to win, as he's a loser, is very sharp...it's an interesting read. I wonder how viewers felt.
  12. Majority Whip spoke at "white nationalist" group in 2002. Ugh. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/steve-scalise-david-duke-wat
  13. I heard people complaining about Emmerdale's Facebook commenters, so I checked it out, and between the people who insisted Robert must leave immediately because he's so nasty and/or poor Aaron deserves better like Finn (do people really want to see him sitting and holding hands with Finn? - poor Finn deserves better than that), and the person who said Bernice is "92" and Andy is "6," I'm inclined to agree. I hope these people don't have a heavy influence on decision-making. Robert is a bit of a Snidely Whiplash on the surface but it's always been surface. Maybe people are just stupid now, I don't know. Anyway, Ryan Hawley is in this.
  14. This was a terrific chapter - one of your best. I especially enjoy how torn Frankie is between trusting Christy and turning against her. Felicia pushing her is so in character, as is the great dialogue you give Felicia (I can hear her saying those lines). Eric/KC is such a believable, character-driven pairing. And the other stories are bubbling along nicely.
  15. Nice to see more of some of the other characters, like the Burrells, Amanda, etc. Poor Amanda's eye seems off the ball with her relationship with Allen. Loved the way Iris was toying with Allen. Nice to see more development of Joy/Stephen. I thought the Joy/KC conflict was a little rushed/OTT and I think Etta Mae's dialogue was a little tough to read (although writing dialogue is very difficult), but it's great getting more of the Burrells and more of the conflicts between them, more of Toni's dilemma, etc. KC is a real firecracker.
  16. I guess she must have suffered a stroke. At least she still seems passionate about writing.
  17. Who are Sarah and Eric and Brent? I'd love to see the Kitty story someday. Thanks so much for finding this. Really.
  18. Red Box shaped ass
  19. This has been on Youtube for a long time but I'd never seen it. It's nice to get a Lucci commercial that isn't about the Emmys or soap diva antics.
  20. Agreed. There's another promo out there of one of those but it's in awful quality.
  21. I think the idea is that if these women are "exposed," the public will see it as he said/she said, or believe they're money-grubbers or liars out to get Bill Cosby. It may also keep women from coming forward. I think it's just cheap and desperate and tacky, but then again, the media does eat that type of "story" up. This is what his team tried to do with Beverly Johnson. http://www.theroot.com/blogs/journalisms/2014/12/cosby_says_cnn_s_upcoming_special_about_beverly_johnson_s_accusations_is.html This is what they see as a win, I guess. The problem is more people heard about her story through Today than will ever have heard any of this about what her ex did or didn't say.
