  1. I might. If I do I'll post it. Do you know what it's in? Is it TV Dawn to Dusk?
  2. About 4 years ago, Cain had a one-nighter with Amy, a tearaway teenager who was living with Eric and Val. She got pregnant. He paid her to have an abortion, but she pocketed the money. After much self-doubt, she gave the baby up for adoption. In late 2013, she nearly ran off with the boy (Kyle), but she changed her mind at the last minute, returning him to Joanie and leaving town. Cain has never wanted anything to do with him. Kerry is Amy's mother so I imagine she will be involved in the story as well. Cain and Chas were raised as full siblings, via Faith and Shadrach. Only about 12 years ago did Cain learn that he was Zak's bio son, via an affair with Faith. Charity and Cain are cousins...the show has never specified how distant.
  3. I would guess that the show moved her from supporting to lead role due to her popularity, although it seems like they never went into overkill mode or made her a bad self-parody, like what happened with Becky. Of course the show had an actual ensemble in those days. I remember one of the Corrie history books talking about the Raquel/Des/Tanya/Curly quad being the featured story when EE and Corrie clashed in 1994, and when Corrie won out, to the surprise of some analysts. They had a review that praised the episodes in particular (this is when Raquel caught Des in bed with Tanya), especially Bet comforting Raquel. Yes - Tanya's exit was running off with a trucker Bet had been dating and even moved into The Rovers. (I think he also dressed up at Elvis at times, or maybe I'm mistaking him with someone else).
  4. I haven't heard of him, but he seems talented. I just wish the show was better written. Timothy West is a wonderful actor and 90% of his scenes were still crap because of the writing.
  5. I still have no idea why they brought Sarah back to the show. She's as dumb as she was when she left, and the show is already awash in superfluous female characters in that age range. Anyway, I think some of you are fans of this era so I have tried to upload some of the 1994 episodes I have. I thought all of this era was already on Youtube but there's a lot of 1994 that isn't, so I am going to put what I have that isn't already up. Poor Lynne Perrie in that first one. She looks like she borrowed Rachel Dolezal's tanner. The second one isn't as bad but she still struggles to speak. I always liked Ivy but it's not hard to see why the producers lost patience. Reg gets on my last good nerve. You can see why Eva Pope was so fascinating to viewers. These days I wonder if a female character like that would be created. And she's a perfect contrast to Raquel. The New Year's episode is so somber, but without wallowing in misery or endless OTT anger like you'd get now. Sad to think Tommy had more value as an offscreen baby than he did during Chris Fountain's entire run.
  6. Lee was off the show for about a year, or two, wasn't he? I think they said the whole family died in a boating accident.
  7. I couldn't blame them after the way Masood acted. He's so selfish, especially since he has a young child he never sees. Shirley is just grotesque. It would be interesting if they had Roxy sexing up a rapist to explore her toxic daddy issues, given how ardently she defended Archie, but most likely it was just because he sort of looks like Charlie and they wanted to shock us. There was a clip from the day Roxy and Ronnie arrived where he hit on her. I guess he finally got his turn.
  8. I think the idea of it was to be inspirational, which it may have been if Charita hadn't been ill
  9. I wish they'd done more with Clem. 2 and a half years and nothing.
  10. Thanks! I knew she looked familiar.
  11. Nancy Frangione ad at about 7 minutes in.
  12. The ratings for BH didn't really go up with prized new additions, and NY hasn't either. I think the days of most of the Housewives shows having any audience beyond what they already have are probably over.
  13. Rita McLaughlin in the feminine hygeine product ad around 4 minutes in (or a bit later). Dorothy Stinnette in another one later in the clip. Who is the black woman in the ad right after Rita's? She looks familiar.
  14. That would have been interesting, although I wonder if she would have fit the Y&R style.
  15. Really enjoyed this trailer.
  16. Is the clip of her dying at the wedding available?
  17. Not sure if this will help you or not: http://edgehomepage.com/storylines-1981.html They also mislabel April 23, 1979 as April 20 (I have it as April 23 on my channel).
  18. A great example of a silly scene improved by crisp, interesting direction. A Doctor Who director (he directed Colony in Space) talked about how he directed an episode of Eastenders and tried to give direction to the actors, and someone in production came and told him he should just say, "Act better" and not bother with the rest. He said he never did get asked to direct another episode... I saw someone on DS post a few weeks ago that they met Nina Wadia after a play and she told them that if they wanted Zainab back, to write to the show, because it was the show's choice not to bring her back. If true, that's a shame, as this story would be a lot more interesting with her. Today was one of Matt di Angelo's better performances, but all the focus on poor Shirley and Shirley's woe and Shirley's boozing again makes me wince. Speaking of wincing, everything with Stacey and Kush is forced and mostly feels like an excuse to tear Stacey down so she can be on the gormless idiot Martin's level. She has little to no chemistry with Kush, and this instant attraction between them, her undercuttiing Shabnam in public because of him, her trawling the kitchen talking about how she needs him and how lonely she is - it's just trash. And boring trash at that. The Roxy/Ronnie scene was probably the only good scene in the whole episode.
