  1. Do you know why they didn't do it? Lynda played that role well in the Oxo commercials, but I'm not sure I could see her as Carol.
  2. You've probably already seen these, but in case you haven't, Ann Williams' kids put up some EON material that I guess she had kept, some of which I've never seen anywhere else. https://www.youtube.com/user/kidsareallrightbook/videos
  3. I don't want to recast Michelle (and the Martin recast reinforces that for me - he puts me off quite a bit), but I do wish they'd take the risk with Grant. Phil just isn't working in this capacity, and the Mitchells at present, broken between Phil and kids and Ronnie and her idiot sister, isn't working for me either. I never knew they almost recast Carol. Thank goodness they didn't.
  4. You know Tim, I keep thinking about your Courtney idea, and I like the idea of it...I just wish the Mitchells were in better shape to warrant it. Sometimes I wonder if they should recast Grant and make him a new patriarch of the family.
  5. It gets a bit tiring, but I really enjoy Terry Davis' work in the role. By the way, Monika, some of these have some Ann Williams scenes, if you want to see those. I notice she looks a bit more glam in some of these. (I still wish they'd kept Margo around a bit longer...)
  6. This is the last of what the channel had that isn't already up in a better form via eonschuylerwhitney. The quality isn't the greatest but it's watchable. I hope you enjoy.
  7. The next one I (re)uploaded.
  8. I'm so glad to know someone is watching the ED stuff (beyond that one person who keeps asking for April 11, 1996). I enjoy that material but I wasn't sure if anyone else did. I haven't posted the next because I don't have all of the March 1998 episodes and I'm trying to look through my stuff to see if I misplaced anything. If I haven't then I'll just post what I have of March and the rest of 1998. The July 1979 episodes start here. There are 5 July 1979 episodes here (the channel above has the first episodes of July 1979 that are available/were put on the AOL thing 7-8 years ago or whenever. They are missing a few, and this channel has those)..
  9. I still wonder how much longer Whitney will be around...
  10. Haha, that's me. Someone who was apparently taken off Youtube sometime last year (I think) put up some EON fragments and episodes, mostly from 1979 (their 1975 material is already available on other channels). They also put up a ton of Dark Shadows, which may have been why they were taken off. Since I've started uploading and since there seems to be a lot of EON activity on Youtube lately, I decided to reupload what they had. If that uploader contacts me and asks me to take it down, I will. It takes forever but I'm trying to upload the next 1979 episode. BTW, the full and good quality version of Draper being sent away can be found at eonschuylerwhitney's channel. I guess this version was from an original recording back in 1980.
  11. I think they have enough Mitchells already. Phil is a boring, used up character, and he's the only person Courtney would know that well. If they go that route I'd rather they bring back Louise and Lisa. The main problem is DTC cannot write for young characters. I do think Jamie must be on the way out too, which is a huge waste...but then that is Eastenders these days.
  12. Another exit of someone who isn't a DTC pet. It's too bad, as the character had a lot of potential, even if the actress wasn't that great. And bringing Kathy back after her grandson will likely be gone is pathetic - typical lazy DTC failures yet again. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a652770/eastenders-danielle-harold-is-leaving-lola-pearce-role-ill-miss-everyone-here.html
  13. A few trailers I'd never seen before. Not quite sure of the people they chose to use in the first one (although I did love Naima)...
  14. The three I uploaded This one I almost uploaded but realized someone else already did last year. It's November 17. It's the four-hander (why are those so rare now?) where Archie realizes Audrey is right, while Richard tells Gail a harrowing story about his mother.
  15. Thanks. I've seen your posts at Daytime Royalty. Great to see you here too.
  16. Thanks. I've seen most of these but I might buy them sometime. I wish they'd release more episodes from those years, especially the '60s.
  17. Stamos continues to bring this show great publicity. http://deadline.com/2015/06/john-stamos-arrested-dui-1201442286/
  18. I don't mean to be unpleasant, but I also just don't think Johnny Briggs was up to the story. I think the show fundamentally misunderstood what type of actor he was and what type of character Mike was. I think the ideal end for Mike would have been running some sort of flop shop somewhere in Dubai or another place, with a sweet young thing on his arm, a warm goodbye to Deirdre and a frenemy goodbye with Ken, and one last scene at Alma's grave where he tells her no one will ever compare to her in his heart. These episodes also have the debut of the Harrises...they seem so much warmer here (the father, anyway). I wonder why the show made them become so bleak. New producer?
  19. Watching some November 2002 episodes I'm trying to put up on Youtube, and Sue Nicholls really does play the hell out of the "dementia" story Richard Hillman inflicted on her. As good as Capron was in the role, it was up to the other longterm cast to make his schemes believable. I'm also reminded again of just what a spare part Mike Baldwin was by this point. I wish they'd written him out around this point, with a bit of a flash, rather than keeping him on to give him that Alzheimer's story that IMO was not well told and didn't feel like the right end for the character (I'm aware this can happen in real life, but this isn't real life - it's a soap).
  20. Not a Blackburn fan, but I do respect him for owning up to a huge continuity error they made about Kevin's dead son (I had a feeling the show had long forgotten about him and apparently I was right...). Usually these things happen and no one at the top says a word to fans. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s3/coronation-street/news/a652725/coronation-street-boss-admits-kevin-webster-script-blunder-we-made-a-mistake.html
  21. Oh that "liberal" New York Times. One of their reporters clucks her tongue over Democrats tanking the trade bill. "Uber-liberals" indeed. And those noble, precious Republicans who wanted to take Congress back to the old days. I'm glad that paper is tanking. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/13/us/politics/democrats-revolt-on-trade-bill-obama.html?_r=0
  22. I'm glad he told us, as I didn't think he was going but others did, so I was starting to get my hopes up. I just wish they would see how lousy this story is - evil Jai isn't fun or entertaining. The only way I will tolerate it is if Leyla survives. I still wonder if Lawrence will kick it. He's certainly all but irrelevant to the canvas. I guess he may be there to get revenge on Robert, but I'd rather he die if that's his only purpose. Speaking of that icky family, the preview clip is up. It's ludicrous and random but not as bad as I thought it might be.
