ANOTHER WORLD 196 Carl makes another secret move
Dr. Wu! Wow. Is it too much to hope Vivian might make an appearance someday? Great contrast of Jack/Paulina coming together just as Grant and Christy (loved her dialogue in this) are about to destroy them. Poor Carl.

ANOTHER WORLD 195 Grant surprises Kirkland
Really enjoyed the talk between Jake and Paulina. Loving but tough and honest - just as they always were. Is Kirkland gay or bi? I can't remember. Either way, kudos to you for using the characters to discuss and humanize an important topic, and show another side to Grant. My heart breaks for Lindsay.

The Doctors Discussion Thread
Sure. I'll try to have it by tomorrow. Was it a real slap or a fake soap slap?

Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
There were some DS photos. Did these air? http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/s13/hollyoaks/news/a648001/hollyoaks-jason-roscoe-to-be-tempted-by-cindy-cunningham-again.html I think Harry looks older so he seems more sexual. He looks old enough to where I get skeeved out remembering how young the character is actually supposed to be.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I'm so angry with Masood's behavior, partly because I care about him, and partly because I feel like he's just being used as a plot device to bring the loathsome Carters into the baby story. I don't know if the show has decided the rape shouldn't be mentioned anymore, but it's ludicrous to me that Masood is so selfish that he doesn't realize one of the reasons Shabnam doesn't want the Carters to know is because of Dean being a rapist. The Ronnie/Charlie/Roxy story is a huge bust. Charlie is vacuous even by DTC male standards. Anyway, Ross Kemp fans may enjoy this - there's already an episode up with him in it but I don't think this one was up. It's an Emmerdale Farm episode close to Christmas 1986. (I never knew he got fired from Emmerdale for having an outburst on set - I wonder if they had any longer story plans for him)

I haven't seen much of Jason, although I get the feeling he isn't that popular with fans. Is it true they cut out some sort of sexy massage scenes?

The reruns aired in the UK started around April 1976. If they had earlier episodes on those I wish they could be uploaded...

Degrassi: The Next Generation
I had a good laugh at the person in the comments section who was outraged at TNG being used for anything but Star Trek The Next Generation. No wonder sci-fi fans are such easy targets for parody. I think beyond that Lifetime thing Dylan Everett's two Supernatural episodes probably didn't hurt either. It has a very loyal fanbase, and most of the time they hate any guest stars or new actors. He was an exception. Will Family Channel water down content?

Deleted scenes. Nothing all that great. I swear they make so many errors in their listings. See if you catch the one here.

These episodes have Seth's wake and funeral, mentioned by Betty in her final episodes. The wake is a powerful episode.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Didn't mean any personal insult. I never watched any versions of The Omen so I'm not sure how the performances were.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
It doesn't even work as camp (the boy just can't play that), so it's ultimately a waste of time for me. It reminds me of that "evil Will" story on GL which also had a boy who couldn't play menacing, and instead looked like an August Gloop in training.- The Politics Thread
Media darling Scott Walker says he'll push for a constitutional ban on gay marriage. But who cares, because he looks so cool on a Harley!!! http://www.cbsnews.com/news/scott-walker-supports-amending-constitution-same-sex-marriage-bans/- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I never knew that about your avatars. That's a nice idea. The sad part is I would probably support a Jay/Ben/Paul triangle, as ludicrous as I know it would be. It's not like they write for any of the characters in that age range anyway...especially the women. One of the problems with Bobby is they treat him as borderline camp, and it's just silly, instead of being menacing.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I'd forgotten about the father. I wonder if he's still alive. I think he never cared much about raising her. Beverly is on Hollyoaks...er...she's too old to care for Cindy. Or something like that. I feel like a hypocrite because I complain about one-note characterizations, so maybe I should praise the Cindy and Ian/Jane story, but I just can't do it. It skeeves me out.- Guiding Light Discussion Thread

I have a feeling we're supposed to sympathize with Ian and Jane as well as Cindy, but I just can't do it with Ian and Jane, especially Jane, as she has always been much too obsessive over babies. The fake dad story really did have the perfect running time. I just wish I trusted that Sharon would always get decent material. It's so rare. I agree about Abi and Ben. I have no idea how we're supposed to feel about her. She's been a huge afterthought and joke in this storyline and the actress tends to play it all very broadly. I find myself more invested in Ben and Jay - the actors are just great together. I know some fans feel that we will be surprised and Les and Claudette aren't actually having an affair. I don't know. The hamminess from them both overpowers all else. Your avatar makes me feel sad It's nice though.- The Doctors Discussion Thread
I still have one or other photos I can't find at the minute (beyond the one jam posted), but here's a Radio Mirror September 1943 shot of Florence Williams in her Front Page Farrell days. She went on to play Althea's mother.- Guiding Light Discussion Thread
- Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
TV Star Parade December 1977. John LaGioia talks of his career and his dissatisfaction with his EON role (which he had left by the time they went to print). The casual use of a homophobic slur is a great example of the differences in magazines then and now.- DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos
