I guess that's the way of modern soaps, but how blithely some things were glossed over throughout the episode (like Victoria and Robert nearly getting Adam sent back to prison and Victoria nearly running him over) was...odd. I think it's been good drama though, although I prefer the quieter, painful material with Laurel and Ashley. Michelle Hardwick's been doing some great work the last few days. And seeing Rakesh absolutely obliterate his son, under the guise of "protecting" him, is interesting to watch. I don't think the guy who plays Kirin is the best actor but he's made this work.

This is so tough to watch. It's well-acted but it's heartbreaking. The only positive I can say is that I'm starting to buy her friendship with Vanessa, which before now always felt like two people living together, not much else.

The kiss was awkward but perhaps it was supposed to be. Otherwise, I thought Labey and Harry Reid had chemistry - more than he did with Sam Strike. And Labey helped make an unbearable Christian-knockoff role more tolerable. Ron Sloman truly is heinous. I try with him and he starts that awful mugging all over again. The new cast members are making Letitia Dean seem like Lindsey Coulson.

Here's the last one I had. It mostly seems to be intact, but a Jill and John scene seems to cut off, sadly. I wish I had more but I'm sure I have bits and pieces somewhere. The third episode, BTW, is apparently December 6, from what someone commented on my channel.

All I remember was James telling Lucinda that he'd paid to have a lookalike body and that's the one that was on the floor or the morgue or wherever else. I don't think bringing Damian back was a bad idea, but the execution was often off. The closest they came to getting it right was his last return but then they made him nuts toward the end. Paolo not aging well didn't help.

A while back slick jones or danfling asked to see caps of Jo Henderon's July 1968 appearance. I never did get around to it, but found it today. If you want a gif or a clip let me know. She was a pretty lady...she looks just like her Wilma performance in the last one.

How random seeing Susan Lucci on there. I had to suffer through Penny scenes to catch them, so I paid my penance. How surprising to see a few episodes before it that Mike was wearing blue jeans in his scenes with Nancy. Something that would not have happened on soaps until around that time.

I'd seen that before but didn't remember seeing him. It was a big flop. Looks like someone had an eye for soap actors though.

Went to great lengths to make sure he stayed dead, down to showing his corpse for an extended period of time.

The Cokers are just unbearable. I think most of DTC's new characters are, in one way or another. It's ironic because Donna was probably the most hated of his creations but I think she's the one who has now settled in. I haven't watched yet but I saw that he and Ben are making out on his first day, so I guess DTC is making up for lost time since Ben/Johnny didn't happen.

Love Mari Jo. I wish they'd done more with her. I enjoy Tylo as Rick too, even if it would have been annoying over time. One thing Y&R had at this point, as they did earlier with Nina Arvesen and to a point Eileen Davidson, was some great noir-esque ladies - Brenda Epperson and Diana Barton could both have starred in some of the best noir films and hold up well. It's a shame Epperson left and Barton was fired not long after, especially as the lack of fresh blood in the female department meant they had to lean so much on Phyllis.

It seems like Bell lost a lot of interest in Nathan by the time of Purdee's late run. I do wonder what would have happened if Randy Brooks had stayed, but he mostly just reacted to things. The 1995 episodes hold up better than I remember feeling at the time, although the repetitive Bell dialogue and emphasis (Drake, the vanishing Matt Clark BFF, calling Nick "rich boy" 500000 times in one scene) still grate. I've always been a Nikki fan but geez is she annoying there. No wonder the soap magazines were trashing her at that time.
