Soap Hoppers: The Soap Actors And Roles Thread
I love her! I've always wished episodes of that show would pop up and knowing she's on it makes me want to see it even more.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I agree. Not even season HAS to be 18-20 episodes before the reunion. Some shows have benefitted from shorter seasons. The problem is that this show is so successful now that they need a full 18-20 seasons. With such high pressure they HAVE to get better at casting. They front loaded the cast with a bunch of people who haven’t had a story in years (Erika/Rinna) or that are just boring (Teddi). That, plus two newbies and I’m not sure what they expected. At the very least Camille should’ve been upgraded.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
This is a show that kept going with spousal abuse and a suicide. I don’t think the affair is being edited out. I think the issue is trying to figure out other storylines. It’s crazy you have so many people filming and are still struggling.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Official livestream announcement of the Melbourne cast will be this Wednesday, so sometime tomorrow US time if I’m remembering the time difference correctly. Also, Tamara Tattles is reporting that RHOBH isn’t premiering until early May, which means a longer wait for the trailer. Apparently they’re post production is taking longer than usual while is usually a sign they’re slicing and dicing things to create a coherent story. I checked Andy’s twitter and yesterday he said we have more than a month for the trailer, after previously saying it would be coming out around this time. Between the reshoots and editing issues this is gonna be a mess! Hopefully an entertaining mess at least.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
@Cat Jackie claims she quit so she can focus on her IVF journey but I ain’t buying that. They obviously will want to freshen the cast after such a long hiatus and I think she simply didn’t make the cut. If you have to lose an OG I think they picked the right one.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I’m so excited for our queens to return! So far we have Gina, Janet, Lydia and Gamble for sure back. Sally and Jackie out, not sure about Venus. I’d imagine 3-4 new wives. Since she said we will know the full cast this week I hope we get a cast photo as they typically do before the season films. Whatever happens, the return of Melbourne will be the HW highlight of the year! Idc how good Beverly Hills or Potomac or Salt Lake City are, the Grand Dames are back!

I think aligning herself so closely with Bernie hurt her, but you're right, she fell for every damn trap the GOP set for her. The second she did that DNA test I knew it was gonna be a nightmare. I will say, I'm glad she played her cards early. I still can't believe she fell into every trap and seemed so ill-prepared when she was asked something she wasn't expecting or wanting to talk about.

The Michael Bloomberg thing is crazy to me and if it weren't this Trump era, I'd be shocked he seems to be polling well. My thing with him, it's been said that him and Steyer are trying to prevent Bernie from getting the nomination, but both seem to be peeling away at Biden's support. Hell, Steyer's campaign stole Kamala Harris' voter data in South Carolina and one could argue that gave him an advantage with black voters there. I don't understand why they didn't put their money behind either Biden, Harris or the tons of people in running in the Senate and House. Bloomberg has a better chance of winning, but it's likely all this money could go down the drain and it's a shame because there are very obvious ways they could've both used their money. Someone also suggested that Bloomberg could've flooded the Fox News airwaves with Trump fact checks, which could've done some work to open his fans minds. IMO anything would've been better than them running. Now looking forward, I'm VERY excited for Nevada. The unions are coming out hard against Bernie and his people are now doxxing them and they're getting tons of threats. It's hard to see how the Bernie Bros feel that will help them. It's baffling to be honest. I just don't understand how threatening his fanbase is. It's all their way or the highway and their way of convincing people to support them is to basically tell you to shut up and fall in line. I feel he'll have a poor showing there (and Pete can just stay home) which will definitely open up Biden and Bloomberg to have a good night. With Elizabeth Warren, her biggest problem now seems to be that she's out of money. She has to do amazingly well in NV and SC to even stay in the race. I don't see her making it to Super Tuesday if she doesn't show well in Nevada. I'm very curious whats gonna happen there.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I’m looking forward to Beverly Hills, Potomac and Melbourne so I won’t let this get me down, but here’s the Dallas rumors... Tiffany Moon is rumored to be the new housewife with everybody returning. I’m not upset about Kary returning although I know many fans didn’t like her, but another season of Leanne and Brandi?! Why?! I was hoping they’d freshen things up but it’ll be more of the same with no real changes.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
The best thing about this upcoming season of RHONY is that it seems like we can just relax. I'm looking forward to Bethenny's energy being gone. I also like that it seems like there are no big toxic feuds just fun and light drama. Considering how heavy RHOBH will be it'll be a nice contrast.

RHONY returns Thursday April 2nd! It looks watchable. I’ll give it a go. I think next season will be their real season to watch as they determine who Tinsley’s replacement will be.

Texas! Discussion Thread
This is the show I was most excited for when AOL and PGP did their collaboration, because I figured Texas would be the easiest to get into since it was starting with episode one. Boy was I wrong! I only started watching Another World last year so I knew nothing about that show and when I started Texas I remember being completely confused. It felt like they were starting in the middle of action and just like any soap, I had to keep watching to understand what was going on and to figure out who everybody was. Those early weeks were SLOW which now makes sense because so much had been set up on AW. I think some form of a crossover would've been a good idea, but they should've limited it to 2-3 Texas characters MAX so they don't overtake AW and also so you still leave the juicy bits for Texas. As the show went on I did enjoy it and I'd love to see the show in full, but they definitely messed up by starting the show that way. I can only imagine how confused non-AW NBC soap viewers were and since there wasn't much action those early weeks, they had no reason to keep tuning in.

Knots Landing
I think they closed out at just the right time, but David Jacobs and Michele Lee have said numerous times that the show wasn't canceled and was ended to avoid just that. The ironic thing is, I feel of all the primetime soaps, Knots is the one that would've been able to reinvent itself to last 20+ seasons. If you look at the 14 years, you can break it up into different period with different looks, feels and styles and it all works. I am kinda curious how it would've been had they stayed on, but in the end I'm happy they didn't. Personally I would've kept Mack and Karen, Greg and Paige and get rid of pretty much everyone else and introduce new unrelated characters to keep the show going. Joan Van Ark has stated she wouldn't return so I'd either get rid of Gary or introduce a strong, bold new love interest who can give him relevance again.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I love Nene, but she did this to herself. She was friends with pretty much everybody last season and picked fights for stupid reasons. Then with Kenya, they were friends, but again she ruined it for stupid reasons. I can't feel bad that she iced HERSELF out. On another ATL subject, I'm annoyed that Kenya has started fighting with Tanya. She makes it so hard to like her. She was joking around doing impersonations of Tanya and brought up her man cheating, but is mad that Tanya mentioned she wore a wig? Girl bye. Kenya just wanna fight and she picked that fight for no damn reason.

Knots Landing
They tried to get Douglas Sheehan back full-time, but couldn't locate him! Apparently after he left the show he had moved out of the country and left showbiz for a while. I still wonder what that story would've been. Also, I love everybodys suggestions with Diana. I don't think I would want her trying to date Gary though, I think that would taint him since they knew each other when she was a kid. I've always thought it would be interesting to have brought Lucy on for the final season and act as a replacement for Vanessa. I do think based on her solid work in the later seasons of Dallas that Charlene Tilton could've fit in on Knots at that point.

Knots Landing
I think the second half of season 13 was also really fantastic, but the final season definitely ended on a high note. I honestly didn't mind the absences from some characters that year. We always had Karen to carry you through and Paige was long term enough to help carry the show as well. I much prefer that to what Dallas and Falcon Crest did in later years by simply eliminating character so the others can appear in more episodes. Knots found the right balance so by the time the show ended the canvas didn't seem like a shell of itself. I also love that they finally brought Diana back. I loved her in those early seasons and hate she didn't return sooner. It was nice to see her fully realized as an adult in season 14 as well as the reunion.

First primary and he's starting. This is just the beginning of his mess. Also, having seen many pictures circulating on twitter of him, I'm starting to worry about his health. If you look at pictures of him from January of last year and compare it with now, he has lost a lot of weight and looks BAD. Throw in the fact that he now announced he won't release any medical records and I'm concerned. I truly don't believe he will make it even two years into a potential term with his current health issues. This is the most stressful job in the world and even without the stress of running for or being president, it's hard to recover from a heart attack at his age. In general I'm at a loss. I feel like with New Hampshire Buttigeig and Bernie will both do well. Warren I'm not sure if she can bounce back when she splits votes with Bernie. Biden I won't count out until I see what happens in Nevada and South Carolina, but I feel Bloomberg might split the vote and give a win to Bernie. The media has decided it's between Buttigeig and Bernie, but aren't accounting for black voters as usual and we know Bittigeig has ZERO shot at nomination. I don't think we can realistically know what's gonna happen until the two diverse states. If the low (read: white) turnout from Iowa is any indication then black voters will be more important than ever and that will give Biden an edge. It's just such a damn crap shoot. I wish we could fast forward to Super Tuesday so we had a better idea of what will happen.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
But she did return and the best she could come up with was a stupid rumor that Eddie was gay which ended her chance to film before she could even get her orange back. Tamra would’ve ate her ass up.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I never understand wanting Gretchen back. She was pretty terrible her last few seasons and had no real sorry to offer. Just like Lauri who could’ve gotten her orange back, she ruined her return with that stupid Eddie rumor. That proved to me she still has nothing to offer as a HW. I wouldn’t want her or Alexis back. I feel their time has passed.

Basketball Wives on VH1
FIlming should be starting soon so we will know if this is true or not, but here are rumors. - Evelyn said on Instagram yesterday that she most likely won't be back. - Shaunie is rumored to lose her power as a producer next season, so if she returns she would be on an equal playing field with the other ladies. - Cece and OG are back - Feby is out Naturally I'd expect Malaysia and Jackie will be back. Jen I'm not sure about and havent heard anything. Honestly if these things happen I think they could have an interesting season. It would be a nicely developed cast with built in conflicts and with Evelyn gone you wouldn't have that Bethenny like character who swallows the narrative.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I know many loved the Brooks storyline, but I found it dominated that season too much and it was boring to watch. Also, with Lizzie, she filmed that entire season and said she was cut out. I still find that so odd. OC did that often though. They had the lesbian housewife in season 6 who even appeared in the first cast photos, but she was an extra by the time the show aired.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
With Tunie, I didn't mean to imply she wasn't successful, but I feel for her body of work and level of talent that I wish she was given a shot to truly lead something. Similar to the popularity that a Viola Davis has gained in recent years. I want to see her starring in a Broadway show, her own primetime show, films, etc. I love that she's managed to carve out a wonderful career for herself, but she deserves to be on top. Debbi Morgan is another actress who has seamlessly weaved her way in and out of primetime and soaps, but I still feel she has the talent for that Oscar or Emmy winning project, she just needs someone to give her the opportunity.

Fingers crossed for this and Falcon Crest on HBO Max.

Going back a bit to the primaries, for one after seeing Iowa in action I think the idea of a caucus is insane and I'd probably want to fight with all those people screaming in my ear to vote for Bernie lol. But considering the issue with diversity, why not just combine the first four states into one day as a kick off? Nevada, Iowa, South Carolina and New Hampshire all on one day? It would give a more accurate reading of where the general electorate is at. I don't care what state it is, I just don't understand putting so much into ONE state where only 172,000 people are gonna vote.

Knots Landing
Season one is as really excellent and use the self contained episodes to their maximum effect. We really got a sense who each couple was which helped propel the future seasons. In terms of Gary and Val, I liked that the first season wasn’t centered around them. We already knew them and they were the outsiders, so it made more sense to use them as our looking glass in. With Kenny and Ginger I can never decide what I think. I feel like they had their ups and downs but there was so much lost potential. Technically they have the first cliffhanger with Ginger finding out about Sylvie, but it didn’t give them the momentum they needed. Season 4 (which is probably my favorite season ever) was amazing for them. It was amazing for everybody, but it was nice seeing them really shine for once. Also, little known fact, but there was supposed to be a music centered spin-off set in Nashville for Kenny and Ginger. James Houghton refused to do it since he wanted to become a writer. Kim Langford seemed upset about that when she mentioned it in an interview. I don’t blame her. I think that would’ve been a fun show.
