With NVP back in her control, Nikki tosses out the trash

A distraught Lauren, who is with Katherine, can’t believe that Michael has taken their child from her. Katherine tells her that she needs to rest, but Lauren argues that she can’t rest until she knows that her son is fine. In tears, she requests that Katherine makes a phone call to Paul.

Kevin, who has been given the responsibility of taking care of the remains of Jana, is contacting the morgue to come in to visualize the body. When he hangs up the phone, he grabs his keys in disgust. All he can think about is having the reign of Jana gone from his life forever.

Sitting in his kitchen Brad checks his watch. He wants to make sure that he gives Jill plenty of time to get to the office before he makes his phone call to set up a meeting to present some ideas about Jabot. Making his way to the door, he goes outside the check the mail; and to his dismay, he finds an envelope that is clearly marked with the address of a law firm.

Over on the other side of Genoa City, Nikki is feasting on a fruit salad, relishing over her ideas of the changes she has in store for all involved with NVP. Victor, having left ahead of time, has given her the go ahead to do what she feels is necessary; and now that the company is in her hands again, she has one big change that she wants to make; and it begins with a certain ‘troublesome’ blonde.

OPENING SEGMENT

Walking the halls of Newman Enterprises, JT makes his way towards Victoria’s office. When he knocks on the door, he is surprised at how happy she is to see him. Embracing in a quick hug, she lets JT inside, closing the door. Sitting back at her desk, she asks him when he got back; to which he explains the day before. She asks if he’s seen Colleen, but he brushes it off by asking her if she would like to go out for dinner to talk some. Victoria declines, telling him that a lot has changed since he’s left, and that going out may not be the wise thing to do.

Opening the envelope, Brad reads the decree in the divorce papers. As he is flipping through the pages, he feels tightness in his stomach as he sees Victoria’s signature on the final page. Placing the papers on his coffee table, he decides that he needs to get business in order. Dialing Jill’s number, he tells her that he would like to see her as soon as he can to discus Jabot business.

At the morgue, Kevin ruefully identifies Jana. When he is asked what should be done with the body, Kevin requests to spend a moment alone with the body before making his decision. When no one is with him in the morgue, he relishes at the fact that Jana got what she deserved. He hisses that he wish it was he that did her in, and wants to ‘thank’ the person that put an end to her. When the mortician comes back in, Kevin tells him that he can cremate her as soon as he can.

Paul immediately comes to the Chancellor mansion. He quickly embraces Katherine and makes his way to a distraught Lauren. He informs her that he received the police report that she did the following night. Lauren tells Paul that he has to arrest Michael for kidnapping. She’s upset when Paul tells her that no charges can be brought against Michael. Since he’s the biological father, technically he is doing nothing wrong.

JT questions why Victoria is declining having dinner with him. She tells her that she filed for divorce and wants to make sure that Brad has nothing to use against her if he decides to play dirty. Understanding, he tells Victoria that if at any time she needs to talk, does not hesitate to call him. As he’s leaving her office, accidentally bumps into Amanda Gibson. Both smile at one another as they exchange apologies.

Nikki, upon arriving to Newman Enterprises, tells Victoria that she’s on her way to making some serious changes to NVP. Victoria tells her mother how happy she is that Nikki is back in control over the company she worked hard to start. Nikki hugs her daughter, and immediately picks up the phone, instructing Phyllis to meet her within a few hours to discuss NVP business. When she hangs up the phone, she looks up to see Sharon standing in the doorway. Victoria glares at Sharon before retreating to the break room.

Slipping on her shoes, and grabbing her keys, Lauren tells Paul that if the police won’t do anything about getting her son back, she will do it herself. Paul tries to dissuade her from running over there; there’s no telling how intense things could get. Lauren tells Paul either he’s with her or against her; no matter what he says, she’s going to get her son back. Paul quickly follows behind her, in hopes that things don’t escalate even further.

Kevin is back at Crimson Lights when a courier comes in to deliver the urn with Jana’s remains. Signing off on the delivery, Kevin places the urn on the counter briefly before scooping it up in his hands. Walking out the back door, he takes one last look at the urn before throwing it in the garbage can in the alley way.

In the hallway, JT and Amanda are talking a little when Victoria makes her way in their direction. Feeling a twinge of envy, Victoria immediately breaks up the pleasantries between them. She asks Amanda is she can help her with something. Amanda tells Victoria she has a meeting with Nick Newman for the position of public relations. Victoria tells her that Nick is out of town, however, she will be more than happy to conduct the interview with her.

Closing the door behind her, Sharon asks Nikki if everything is okay. Nikki gives her the news of being back in charge of NVP. Sharon questions how that could be possible, since Jack was the one that owned it. Nikki sneers, telling Sharon that the great Jack Abbott had no choice but to return the company back to its rightful owner; and now that he has, there is one thing that will definitely change. Sharon questions what it could be. A delighted Nikki tells her ex daughter-in-law that effective immediately, she no longer will be representing her company as spokesperson.

At Jabot, Brad is presenting his idea to Jill. Jill looks them over and immediately questions why Brad is so determined to impress her. He tells Jill that with all the scandal swarming around Jabot regarding the skin cream tampering, they need to do whatever to put Jabot back on the map. Looking over the information again, Jill tells him that maybe they can work on something to make his ideas work.

Banging on the door, Lauren demands that Michael let her in. When he opens the door, it is obvious that he is haggard. Pushing past him, she asks him where her son is. Paul, who is on her heels walks in, telling Michael that for the sake of everyone, including the baby, that it would be best to let Lauren have Fen. Michael tells Paul to butt out and facing Lauren tells her that he will give her Fen once the two of them have a serious talk.

Phyllis walks in Nikki’s office, asking what’s up. Nikki tells Phyllis that Jack no longer is in charge of NVP; power has been restored back to the Newman’s. Phyllis is ecstatic and asks what is on the agenda to get things back to the way they should be. Nikki tells Phyllis she will be happy to know that Sharon will no longer be NVP spokesperson. A smile planted on her lips, Phyllis says that she has the perfect person that will be an excellent replacement for Sharon. Nikki is all ears.
