I have began to notice that I haven't seen any new SOD and SOW lately in supermarkets or Walmart and not even in an Eckerd Drug store that I work at for the past several weeks. Is this the beginning of cutbacks for those magazine publications. The only soap magazines that I see regularly are ABC soaps in depth and CBS soaps in depth.I hope this not the beginning of the end for soap opera magazines. It's very funny how you don't see a NBC soaps in depth magazine period.I guess NBc really hates their soaps.I just want to know from the people on this message board to see if this is a problem in the cities and towns in which we all live or am I just being paranoid?

Nothing has changed here where I live. I still see the soap magazines everywhere.

No change where I live either...about NBC Soaps Indepth. They stopped producing those a little while before Another World went off the air. I always thought they stopped because NBC doesn't have enough of an audience for it's soaps and the magazine wasn't profitable.

I wish they'd start producing that one again.

I think it's more the stores that are cutting back on what magazines they choose to sell on their stands. I was talking with the guy I get me SOW from every Thursday morning and he said, usually when a magazine doesn't sell as much... he stops selling them. I think it's more a budgetary thing on the seller's part more than a distributing issue on the magazine's part.

I've noticed in some stores they've cut back from having SOW in every aisle to only one. And it's always at some weird aisle that's not open and I get all paranoid looking for it. LOL!

I can't hardly find SOW sold anywhere I live, but yet see alot of SOD and SID

Where I live the local grocery store get the new SOD/SOW on Thursday. The SOD(and SID) , they have in every other aisle but the SOW, are maybe in one or two.

The CVS in my area only carries SOW and the SID's. A friend of mine who works there says the store doesn't carry SOD since they are pretty much the same mag (SOW and SOD).

  • Member

well NBC does only have 2 soaps. I guess it isnt profitable enough for them to produce a mag for them. Also 2 soaps may not be enough content to keep the mag going

It's hard to find the soap mags where I live. Sometimes they aren't here at all and others, they're just hidden very well.

  • Member

The stores that sell SOD and SID in my area have those mags displayed prominently, but SOW, I can only find it at one store, and I have to search for it basically.

  • Member

I can usually spot SOD and the SIDs, but I never see SOW anywhere. The last time I saw a SOW in the supermarket was maybe two or three months ago.

Things still the same where I live. In fact, my local WalMart has started to get the mags in on Thursdays now. Funny when they started getting the mags earlier I started getting them later in the mail  . Perhaps I should just start buying them and not having them be mailed.
